Chapter 80 Fortress of Steel Shells

The Dusktide Ironforge Dwellers were a group of obsessed enthusiasts who were completely engrossed in the study of forging. Their civilization was once incredibly magnificent, and their presence could be found in countless legendary equipment.

Dusktide Ironforge Dwellers had arms as thick as thighs, muscles as hard as a rock, and dark skin. At night, many people mistook them for a rock and accidentally sit on them. Of course, the consequences were severe; these Dusktide Ironforge Dwellers hated being mistaken for a bench.

Eric walked straight over.

This bunker in the Ruins of the White Sands was very concealed. In previous life, many guilds did tasks here for a long time before discovering it, picking up many good quests, some even giving Dark Iron Equipment. However, such quests usually required a team to complete; one person simply could not manage.

Compared to these quests, the favor of Dusktide Ironforge Dwellers was more important. That was the secret that players only discovered after reaching level twenty.

There was a unique quest "Fortress of Steel Shells" here, which required a certain level of favor with the Dusktide Ironforge Dwellers to obtain. Many players missed it, but an unknown ordinary player accepted it and completed the quest, becoming a sought-after figure by many guilds.

Eric walked to the bunker door, and two elite Dusktide Ironforge Dwellers just glanced at Eric and let him in.

The bunker was large, like an underground town, filled with Dusktide Ironforge Dwellers. Most of the shops on the streets were weapon and equipment stores or bars, with little other entertainment.

Eric walked along the main street, winding through until he reached a steel-built Town Hall. A level 30 elite bearded mayor saw Eric enter and greeted him warmly, as it had been a long time since the town had seen an outsider.

"Hello, adventurer, welcome to Hammerstone Village. I'm Mayor Blackbeard," Blackbeard said enthusiastically.

"Hello, esteemed Mayor, this is my first time here. Is there anything I can do to help?" Eric asked respectfully, making it easier to gain the NPC's favor.

Blackbeard stroked his beard, thought for a moment, and said, "Adventurer, our town is truly in need of assistance. This region is becoming increasingly sweltering and oppressive, with our water sources rapidly diminishing. It's getting harder for the residents to live. I will pay a good price if you can get us a large supply of water or cooling items."

System: [Do you accept the quest "Blackbeard's Request"?]

Eric smiled slightly; this was exactly why he came.

"I'd be happy to help," Eric agreed.

In Hammerstone Village, the mayor's favor was the most important. However, gaining his favor is difficult because the quests are challenging to complete and offer little reward, so many people give up.

System: Quest "Blackbeard's Request" accepted. Provide 100 bags of clean water or five cups of iced drinks to Mayor Blackbeard.

Eric then took out the prepared iced fruit juice.

Each time he gave five cups of iced fruit juice, he received two copper coins, one favor point with Blackbeard, and 100 experience points.

For players at around level eight or nine, 100 experience points were insignificant, considering that killing a level 10 regular monster yields approximately 200 experience points.Additionally, buying 100 bags of clean water in other towns cost five copper coins, and even the cheapest iced drink cost five copper coins for five cups. This was like trading three copper coins for 100 experience points, something only a madman would do.

But Eric was happy to do it.

At his current level, 100 experience points held considerable value, exceeding the experience gained from slaying a level 5 regular monster.

Eric continued to hand over iced fruit juice until he had delivered 1,000 cups. He received a total of 400 copper coins, 200 favor points with Blackbeard, and 20,000 experience points, leveling him up to 4, 69%.

In less than ten minutes, he had leveled up so much, faster than killing level 10 elites. With 200 favor points, Eric began inquiring about the unique quest, but Blackbeard remained tight-lipped, avoiding the topic.

'It seems my favor isn't high enough.' Eric thought. He took out the new iced fruit juice made by Violet Mistflow. "Esteemed Mayor, what do you think of this iced fruit juice?"Blackbeard took the new iced fruit juice, sniffed it, and his eyes lit up. Excitedly, he said, "This cup is worth five of the previous ones. Adventurer, how much do you have? I'm willing to pay an extra copper coin for it."

Eric was surprised to see Blackbeard so pleased. He hadn't expected Violet Mistflow's skills to be so good that even an NPC would be moved and willing to make concessions, something scarce in Divine Realms: Legends.

Since Blackbeard liked it, Eric naturally kept trading.

He handed over a total of 750 cups of new iced fruit juice. Each cup earned him three copper coins, one favor point, and 100 experience points, showing how much Blackbeard liked it. Eric received 2,250 copper coins, 750 favor points, and 75,000 experience points, leveling him up to 5 46%. The leveling speed was like a rocket. Unfortunately, making the new iced fruit juice was time-consuming, and Violet Mistflow had other things to do. Otherwise, Eric would have wanted Violet Mistflow to make thousands of cups, shooting him to over level ten.

With 950 favor points, Mayor Blackbeard finally opened up. He withheld no secrets and treated Eric as a close friend, going so far as to give him the Stonehammer Key Fragment, which the previous player had failed to mention.

System: [The player accepted the unique quest "Fortress of Steel Shells." The player must go to Physis Gorge to find the fallen Fortress of Steel Shells and obtain the Heart of the Titan. Mayor Blackbeard will give a very generous reward.]

With such high favor, Eric could also buy forging blueprints from Blackbeard.

Looking it over, Eric was shocked. Blackbeard had ten blueprints in total: five ordinary blueprints, three Bronze Equipment blueprints, one Dark Iron weapon blueprint, and one Dark Iron Equipment blueprint.

Blackbeard had brought out all his treasures!

These were blueprints for equipment at levels 8 to 10.

Even though each Bronze Equipment blueprint was priced at 60 silver coins and Dark Iron Equipment at one gold and 50 silver coins, ordinary players were unable to afford them.

Fortunately, Glowing Outfit Design Blueprints had sold three more copies recently, giving Eric over nine gold coins. Otherwise, he could only look on enviously.

"Esteemed Mayor, I'll take these three Bronze blueprints and two Dark Iron blueprints," Eric said, handing over four gold 80 silver coins.

Unfortunately, these blueprints were bound upon purchase. Otherwise, Eric could resell them for at least two to three times the price.

Even the worst level 8 Bronze Equipment blueprint would significantly boost a guild. Currently, the highest level players were around level 6, and many were still wearing level 1 or 2 common equipment. If everyone in a team had level 8 Bronze Equipment when they reached level 8, it was terrifying.

After the transaction, Eric suddenly received a System notification.
