Chapter 34 Arrogance Turned to Politeness (Part 2)
Isbella's eyes sparkled as she saw Eric also wanting to give her something. She was a bit surprised and found Eric quite interesting. He wasn't as hard to approach as Isbella had imagined, and he seemed like a decent person.
"Do you think Isabella would want a gift from someone like you?" Scarlet couldn't help but turn her head, her red lips curling into a seductive smile, her eyes filled with mockery, silently thinking Eric was overestimating himself.
Isabella had seen all kinds of things; even million-dollar luxury cars didn't impress her, let alone in-game items.
At this moment, Eric took out a piece of paper from his backpack, one of the drops from the Boss, and casually handed it to Isabella.
Seeing Eric only give a piece of torn paper as a gift to Isbella, Scarlet couldn't help but coldly say, "Are you messing with us?"
"No, I'm not," He said seriously.
"Isabella gave you a piece of Bronze Equipment, and you? Do you think a torn piece of paper can compare to a piece of Bronze Equipment? Isn't this messing with us?" Scarlet was even more furious upon hearing this.
The people behind Eric, including Tonny, were sweating profusely.
Tonny thought, 'Even if he didn't want to chat with others, he couldn't mess with Isbella like this. This was courting death!'
'Clearly, a lot of equipment had dropped in the Silent Grove Dungeon. Any one of them would have easily solved the problem. If Isbella got angry, even if she didn't make a move herself, the surrounding players would take us out.'
Seeing that things were about to get out of hand, Tonny was about to offer his bronze staff when Isbella happily accepted the piece of paper from Eric.
Suddenly, Tonny and the others were left gaping, their mouths forming an O shape. Isabella actually accepted it. What was going on?
"Thank you for the gift; I like it very much. Now, can we go somewhere less crowded to talk?" Isabella smiled and thanked him.
Eric also smiled and nodded in agreement. Isbella's smile was like basking in warm sunlight, and it was unforgettable for a lifetime.
"Isabella, are you just going to forgive his rude behavior?" Scarlet looked at Isbella in confusion, asking.
"Alright, Scarlet, I really like this gift," Isabella said, then turned to lead the way for Eric. Scarlet was stunned, not understanding what spell Eric had cast on Isabella. Was a torn piece of paper enough?
What exactly was this torn piece of paper?
"Isabella, what exactly did that guy give you?" Scarlet asked quietly. Seeing the stick hanging at Eric's waist, she knew he couldn't offer anything valuable, yet Isabella had happily accepted it, leaving Scarlet puzzled.
"An alchemy recipe, a beginner's strength potion. Drinking it gives the player 6 points of strength for half an hour," Isbella said calmly.
"What?" Scarlet was shocked. "How does he have such a precious recipe?"
Alchemy was difficult to learn, and recipes were notoriously hard to come by. Even common recipes were rare in Devouring Serpents, and a recipe that could boost a player's strength by 6 points for half an hour had never been seen before.
If a level 2 player could gain six extra points of strength, it would mean an additional 12 points of attack, which would be very effective in dungeons. For a guild that frequently tackled dungeons, the value of this recipe exceeded dozens of pieces of Bronze Equipment. Once beginner's strength potions were sold, they would definitely be in high demand, yet Eric had given it away.
Didn't he know the importance of this recipe? Scarlet shook her head, denying this thought. Seeing Eric's confident expression earlier, she believed that he definitely knew the value of the recipe for their guild.
She turned back to look at Eric, and her cheeks turned red. Thinking about what she had said earlier, Scarlet felt embarrassed. She had called such a rare recipe a torn piece of paper.
As she thought of Eric's smile, it seemed to her that he must have been mocking her lack of knowledge. This man was incredibly maddening..
"Now you know that, I told you he wasn't simple," Isabella smiled at Scarlet.
After Isabella and Eric left, the surrounding players still hadn't shaken off their reverie and returned to their senses.
What was going on?
A newbie player had actually gained Isbella's attention. Was he really a newbie?
"Skyweave, that newbie player left with Isbella." Silent Summer Night felt very uncomfortable seeing Isbella being so polite to Eric. Even an idiot could tell that Eric wasn't simple.c
"Don't worry about it. I heard from others that the newbie player seems to have cleared the Infernal-level Silent Grove Dungeon. Ice Goddess must be very interested in the Infernal-level and came specifically to invite him," Skyweaver still didn't believe he had misjudged. Eric must be a newbie player who had gotten lucky, first finding a pro to rely on and now somehow attaching himself to Isabella.
Located six hundred feet southeast of the Silent Grove Dungeon was a picturesque stone pond adorned with elegant scenery and gentle babbling streams. Isabella and Eric sat facing each other, with others standing on both sides. No one came to disturb or eavesdrop, making it a perfect place to chat.
"Ms. Collins, what can I do for you?" Eric asked calmly.
"Silent Grove Dungeon." Isabella got straight to the point. "I want the strategy for the Silent Grove Dungeon. Name your price."
"Ms. Collins, you must be mistaken. How could I have a strategy for the Silent Grove Dungeon? I just entered the dungeon once." Eric wouldn't admit he had the strategy. That would definitely arouse suspicion. After all, Divine Realms: Legends was constructed by the main God System. Even beta testers couldn't know the detailed strategy of a dungeon. He could fool Tonny and the others, but not Isbella. If Eric was too open about it, it would definitely cause trouble.
Isabella smiled, her eyes sweeping over Eric's teammates. She said flatly, "If I'm not mistaken, the equipment your teammates are wearing comes from the Infernal-level Silent Grove Dungeon. Although your team has one or two skilled players, everyone knows that three level 1 newbies were temporarily recruited. Such a team can clear the Infernal-level Silent Grove Dungeon and get a lot of equipment. If you are unaware of something, do you expect me to believe it?"
"You are smart, and I know you're a beta tester and not just a common tester. You've definitely studied the Silent Grove Dungeon a lot. Otherwise, after the public release, all data would be significantly modified. Without specific research, no beta tester could clear the Infernal-level Silent Grove Dungeon. As for why I say you can clear it, this beginner's strength potion recipe is the best proof. Don't worry, I won't reveal your secret." Isbella's eyes bore into Eric's as if seeing through him.
"Alright, you're right," Eric shrugged, secretly relieved. She had already helped him fill in many gaps, which was perfect.
"Name your price," Isabella smiled at Eric as if saying, "Don't try to lie to me. Do you think I can't handle you? I know everything."
