Chapter 207 Slaying Blaze Serpentess
Eric was unwilling to let the course of history slip from his control.
If they had really wanted to invite him to tackle the three main dungeons, then he could only have firmly refused.
Thornheart shook his head and sighed slightly, "It's not the three major dungeons, but a twenty-person team dungeon, Orgrim Forgeworks. It's a level 10 to 13 team dungeon, and the gear that drops there is very helpful for tackling the three major dungeons. Although we've cleared the Common Level, the Adversity-level is too difficult. We've been stuck at the first boss, so we wanted to ask for your help."
Hearing Orgrim Forgeworks, Eric was slightly tempted. That dungeon ,indeed, had a lot of good stuff, especially the recipe for Ignition Ward Tonic and the level 10 Swordsman class set, Galestorm.
It wouldn't be bad to go and get those things.
"Alright, but I have one condition," Eric replied.
"Kai Blackthorn, go ahead," Thornheart responded, relieved to hear Eric agree. He was really afraid Eric would refuse.
"I want all the recipes and blueprints in the dungeon, and the Swordsman gear should be prioritized for me. If you can agree to that, then I have no problem," Eric stated his terms.
Thornheart fell into a slight contemplation. If he were leading the team, he would agree without hesitation, but this time the leader was the guild master, WhisperbladeWraith. It was not his decision to make.
"Kai Blackthorn, I need to consult with the guild master. Can I get back to you in a bit?" Thornheart asked, slightly lacking confidence.
"Sure," Eric wasn't in a hurry. After all, he still had a long time to deal with Blaze Serpentess.
Thornheart ended the communication and immediately walked over to the guild master, WhisperbladeWraith, who was clearing dungeon mobs not far away.
WhisperbladeWraith looked very young, with a burly and powerful build. In reality, he was already thirty-nine years old. He usually had a serious expression, and his gaze was always sharp and intimidating, like a warrior ready for battle.
In fact, WhisperbladeWraith was a mercenary, but he had retired long ago. After retiring, he joined the then-weak Assassin's Alliance. After more than a decade of hard work, he finally made Assassin's Alliance a top second-rate guild, gaining sponsorship and support from many large corporations.
"How did the talk go?" WhisperbladeWraith turned to glance at Thornheart, who was walking over, and asked seriously.
Previously, their Assassin's Alliance had been stuck at the first boss of the Adversity-level Orgrim Forgeworks, so Thornheart suggested bringing in a top-tier expert for help. WhisperbladeWraith was initially dismissive, thinking that so-called top-tier experts were just overhyped.
If it weren't for Thornheart's recent excellent performance and his promotion to guild elder, WhisperbladeWraith wouldn't have allowed Thornheart to make contact.
"He agreed to come, but he has one condition — all the Swordsman gear in the dungeon goes to him, along with any blueprints and recipes that drop," Thornheart answered cautiously, "But I personally think Kai Blackthorn is worth it. Even Ice Goddess respects him greatly."
WhisperbladeWraith's thick, rough eyebrows furrowed tightly upon hearing this, clearly, he was dissatisfied with Eric's demands.
"WhisperbladeWraith, Kai Blackthorn is really strong. Without him, Ice Goddess Isabella wouldn't have gotten the first clear of the Infernal-level Shadowmoon Graveyard," Thornheart quickly added.
"Isabella?" WhisperbladeWraith's expression suddenly turned a bit dejected upon hearing the name.
That name deeply shocked him.
Just half an hour ago, Isabella had stunned all the players in Silvercrest Dominion.
Isabella had secured the first clear of four level 10 small dungeons and two level 10 small team dungeons. And it wasn't just the Adversity-level first clear, but the Infernal-level first clear, which was much more prestigious.
This also meant that the gap in gear between players had widened significantly.
Moreover, he heard that Isabella was already tackling the twenty-person Infernal-level team dungeon. If Isabella succeeded, it would mean she had left other guilds far behind, putting them on a completely different level.
"Looks like that Kai Blackthorn does have some skills. In that case, agree to his terms," WhisperbladeWraith uttered. He was very curious to see if Eric was as strong as Thornheart claimed.
In fact, WhisperbladeWraith didn't want outsiders involved in the guild's dungeon raids, but the status of Assassin's Alliance in Silvervale City was becoming increasingly precarious.
Not to mention the top-tier guild Devouring Serpents, even the third-rate guild Darkstar Guild was showing signs of surpassing them. Especially after Darkstar Guild acquired RogueVortex, who had been dominating the level rankings, and then consecutively cleared two Adversity-level small team dungeons, its reputation soared above that of other guilds.
In contrast, Assassin's Alliance had only secured a few Common Level first clears and hadn't even managed a single Adversity-level first clear. That's why WhisperbladeWraith personally organized an elite team to tackle Orgrim Forgeworks. He hoped to secure the Adversity-level first clear and boost the guild's morale, shutting people up who said that Assassin's Alliance couldn't even compare to Darkstar Guild.
Hearing this, Thornheart immediately and excitedly contacted Eric.
"Kai Blackthorn, our guild master has agreed. Can you come over now?" Thornheart asked.
Eric was still battling Blaze Serpentess at the time, so there was no way he could go over immediately. He estimated the time and replied, "I have something to finish up right now. It'll take me about two hours to get there."
"Alright, then let's meet at the entrance of Orgrim Forgeworks in two hours," Thornheart said, though he wanted Eric to come as soon as possible. Since Eric was willing to help, he couldn't push him too hard.
"Okay, I'll be there in two hours," Eric spoke, ending the communication and continuing his fierce attack on Blaze Serpentess.
When Blaze Serpentess's health dropped to 20%, her previously charming appearance suddenly changed. Crimson runes appeared on her pale skin, radiating immense magical power, and her ruby-like eyes shone with dazzling white light.
Instantly, the entire Inferno Shrine began to shake, and the iron-hard ground started to crack, slowly expanding and spreading. From these cracks, countless streams of scorching red lava erupted, forming rivers that flowed and spread across the ground.
This was Blaze Serpentess's most powerful skill, Queen's Wrath!
Fortunately, Eric had already guided Blaze Serpentess to this spot. Otherwise, the lava erupting from the ground would not have been rivers but an ocean, and even millions of players would have been reduced to ashes, becoming nutrients for the land.
Eric then activated Gravity Liberation, leaping up like a cannonball and landing on a rock wall over 30 feet high, avoiding the rushing lava.
After about thirty seconds, the lava finally receded, but the ground remained a glowing red, emitting intense heat. If ordinary playerd stepped on it, they would lose 500 health points per second at the very least.
But Eric was different. With 123 fire resistance, he could completely ignore the scorching ground. He landed and immediately resumed his attack on Blaze Serpentess.
After using Queen's Wrath, Blaze Serpentess was greatly weakened and fell into a state of exhaustion, with no attack power. It was the best time to take her down.
If he waited for the ground to return to normal, Blaze Serpentess would recover, and her health would restore to at least 30%.
In her weakened state, Blaze Serpentess was no match for Eric's attacks.
Each hit from Blaze Comet dealt over 1,500 damage, and a critical hit would deal 3,000.
By the time Blaze Serpentess broke free from her weakened state, her health was down to 10%.
Although she became extremely violent and her attack power doubled, she was controlled by Eric's Frostbite Grenade, unable to unleash her melee power.
After more than ten minutes, she let out a final scream and fell at Eric's feet.
Instantly, Eric's level increased by one, reaching level 16 with 17% experience. The abundant experience points even surprised Eric.
Then he heard an explosion, and a pile of Flamecrystal Ember and a large number of equipment loots scattered around.
