Chapter 214 Clearing the Dungeon

After Morlock's death, four pieces of Dark Iron Equipment dropped. Each person got 34 copper coins and a significant amount of experience points. Eric obtained a pair of Galestorm Leggings, completing two pieces of the Galestorm Outfit.

Seeing how easily Boss Morlock was taken down, everyone exchanged smiles, feeling that having Eric in the team was truly a blessing.

Now, the initial tension of the dungeon runhad gone and the group started joking around, bonding with Eric. One by one, they frequently asked Eric for combat tips.

With Eric's guidance, everyone grew increasingly impressed with him as many team members saw significant improvements.

Soon, amidst their laughter and conversation, they finally arrived at the Regal Hall of Sovereignty and saw the final boss, Warlock Saru.

Warlock Saru, the chief leader, was level 12 with 500,000 health points.

When Eric and his team reached the final boss, Rogue Vortex of the Darkstar Guild was still tackling the first boss, Karul.

At this point, Rogue Vortex and his team had been wiped out three times, each time falling to the Mirrorstrike Slash, making no progress at all.

Constant failure made Rogue Vortex increasingly agitated. He couldn't understand why the difficulty level for a twenty-man team had increased so much.

After pondering for a long time, Rogue Vortex identified the problem.

He pointed out, "This boss needs to be taken down quickly, but we currently lack the damage output. Unless the entire team upgrades their gear further, there's no way to get through. Do we need to upgrade our gear first?" Rogue Vortex looked at Karul, his expression hesitant.

Having boasted earlier, he now found himself in a dilemma. However, he thought that if his team couldn't manage it, then the Assassin's Alliance, with their inferior gear, definitely couldn't either. They must be stuck at the first boss just like him. This thought cheered him up considerably, and he decided to think of a strategy and give it another try.

Meanwhile, in the opulent Regal Hall of Sovereignty.

The Assassin's Alliance was already studying Saru's abilities.

Except for the regular Shadow Bolt attack, which was immune to stuns and control skills, Saru had two major moves. One was Darkshade Rampage, which randomly fired twelve Shadow Bolts, each dealing 800 damage and causing a fear effect for 6 seconds.

The other was Summoning of the Flame Colossus, a level 12 special elite. Each Inferno Titan had a continuous self-immolation effect, dealing 300 fire damage per second within a 30-foot radius, with 50,000 health points.

This was the most challenging part in dealing with Boss Saru. The Inferno Titan's self-immolation effect was an area-of-effect damage, dealing 300 fire damage per second. Non-MT classes could only withstand it for four to five seconds at most. The Inferno Titan would be summoned every one to two minutes, and combined with the group fear effect of Darkshade Rampage. That was why countless guild teams had perished to this combo.

Even if they weren't immediately wiped out by this combo, having three Inferno Titans on the field would be devastating. With 900 damage per second, even Eric couldn't last more than three seconds, let alone the others.

However, focusing on the Inferno Titan with 50,000 health would take considerable time, allowing Boss Saru to regenerate health through combat recovery. This would eventually exhaust the healers' mana, leading to a team wipe.

After sending out five or six people for several tests, everyone realized Warlock Saru's true strength, their faces turning grim and their confidence shattered.

Not to mention Saru's regular Shadow Bolt dealing 800 damage to the MT and 1,000 to regular players, the Inferno Titan alone was extremely difficult to handle. Melee fighters couldn't get close, and even if the MT tanked it, the healers couldn't keep up. Needless to say that Saru's Darkshade Rampage could suddenly deal 800 group damage.

The Inferno Titan itself could deal over 300 damage to the MT, and with the self-immolation effect adding another 300 damage, it was practically like facing another boss. If the MT were suddenly hit by Darkshade Rampage, they would be done for in an instant. If the first Inferno Titan wasn't taken down within one or two minutes, Saru would summon a second one. With two attacking simultaneously, the MT would have no chance of survival.

Given their current gear and level, a frontal assault was simply impossible.

Knowing the situation, everyone's mood grew increasingly heavy, and they fell silent.

"This is just Adversity-level, how can it be this difficult? How are we supposed to survive Infernal-level?" Thornheart lamented.

Guild leader Whisperblade Wraith also furrowed his brows, deep in thought.

Saru was significantly harder than the previous two bosses. As the final boss, it was expected to be extremely challenging, and he had no good strategy to tackle it.

Just as everyone was feeling disheartened,Eric suddenly said in the group chat.

"We do have a strategy actually. Should we give it a try?"

Eric's words were like a beacon of hope.

"Eric, can we really take down this boss?" SereneSunrise asked, her big eyes blinking as she leaned closer to Eric.

"Probably, but we won't know until we try, right?" Eric replied nonchalantly, just shrugging his shoulders, which slightly disappointed SereneSunrise.

Eric then explained the strategy to everyone.

Eric would kite the Inferno Titan alone while the others attacked the boss. Three healers would support the MT, and one healer would support Eric. This strategy was risky, and its success depended on Eric's ability to kite the Inferno Titan effectively. The arena was small, with limited space to maneuver, so one mistake could lead to a team wipe.

However, no one objected or even doubted the plan asEric's strength had already earned their complete trust. Since Eric suggested it, they believed he had a good chance of success.

"MistLake, activate Shadow Aura. Snowflight, activate Crusader's Aura. Let's start," Eric said.

Shadow Aura could increase Shadow resistance by 5 points and reduce Shadow damage, while Crusader's Aura could increase movement speed by 10%, helping everyone dodge the Inferno Titan more effectively. These two auras made the boss fight significantly easier.

MistLake charged in, and as Saru was still casting, he hit him with a Shield of Retribution, dealing 181 damage. Then, a Hammer of Judgement followed, dealing 201 damage.

However, these attacks didn't interrupt or delay Saru's spellcasting. A dark beam shot through MistLake's chest, dealing over 800 damage. Instantly, three healing lights fell on MistLake, restoring over 700 health points.

Once MistLake had secured aggro of Saru, the others began their attacks under Eric's direction.

After a while, Saru pointed his staff to the sky, and a large green fireball descended into the hall. Eric immediately threw a Blaze Comet at the green Inferno Titan, dealing 621 damage and becoming its primary target. The Inferno Titan charged at Eric.

Eric turned and ran, leading the Inferno Titan away from the team area, then started circling the hall.

As Saru's health continued to drop, the summoned Inferno Titans grew stronger. Unfortunately for Saru, Eric managed to kite each one away with Blaze Comet, frustrating the boss.

After more than ten minutes, Saru let out an unwilling roar before collapsing onto the throne, dying quietly.
