Chapter 30 Crimson Edge

At Eric's command, Cola, who was already prepared, chanted mystical golden runes from his mouth, and a surge of golden energy surged toward Eric.

Blessing of Protection!

Instantly, Eric was enveloped in numerous golden runes, emitting a dazzling golden light. Meanwhile, the last in line, Drowsy Sloth, kept releasing healing and Life's Blessing, replenishing Eric's health to its maximum and restoring him to his optimal state.

"Get ready to withstand the impact. No one should leave my back." Eric saw the werewolf Ferot's gaze approaching and placed the Abyssal Blade across his chest, warning everyone. Upon hearing Eric's words, everyone tensed up.

Their hearts began to beat frantically, and even before Ferot had used his skills, cold sweat had already broken out.

Suddenly, Ferot moved, his inflated chest rising upwards, passing through his neck, and reaching his mouth.

In an instant, except for Eric, everyone's hearts seemed to stop beating. The world fell silent, turning dark, with even the flying creatures in the sky freezing in place.

Everyone could clearly see dark gray ripples spreading from Ferot's body, growing larger and larger.

The dark gray ripples quickly reached them, but they couldn't move, not because they didn't want to, but because their bodies couldn't keep up with their thoughts.

At that moment, time seemed unusually slow, yet everyone understood that although it appeared slow, it was actually accelerating rapidly, just like when top experts engaged in a sword fight and time seemed to slow down during the clash.

Only Eric made a slight movement.

Phantom Slay!

Right before the dark gray ripples reached them, Eric's doppelgänger stood in front of him, using Parry.

As the dark gray ripples collided with the doppelgänger, it managed to ward them off with Parry, but staggered back a step, bumping into Eric's main body to stabilize himself. Just as the doppelgänger steadied itself, another ripple surged towards them.

This time, the ripple passed through the doppelgänger's body, reducing its health by 300 points, causing Eric's main body to lose 30 points of health and others behind him to lose 20 points of health.

However, the dark gray ripples didn't cease there. When the third ripple passed through the doppelgänger, it disintegrated, and Eric's main body suffered 100 points of damage. Subsequently, one dark gray ripple after another.

-100, -100, -100, -100...

Eric's health kept decreasing until he had only 90 points left. Just as it seemed the final ripple would finish him off, Eric used Parry.

With a bang, Eric stepped back a large stride, but he suffered no damage. The people behind him were unharmed as well. After several shockwaves, everyone's health was reduced to less than 50%.

Only then did Drowsy Sloth's healing fall on Eric, restoring his health to 140. Following that was Life Sacrifice, which restored another 130 points of health, bringing Eric's health back to over 50%.

"That roar was too powerful; I thought we were done for." Tonny wiped the cold sweat off his forehead. If it weren't for Eric standing in front, everyone would have been doomed. The realization that Eric had nearly died sent a surge of adrenaline through Tonny's body, causing his heart rate to reach an alarming 180 beats per minute.

If Eric died, they would be finished, too, as no one could restrain the werewolf Ferot for long.

At that moment, everyone looked at Eric as if he were a monster. No one had expected Eric to cleverly use his doppelgänger to withstand two attacks and then use Parry at the last moment. Eric's calculations of damage and health were simply brilliant, akin to magic.

"Don't just stand there; quickly attack the Boss. The Boss is now in a weakened state." Eric shrugged slightly at everyone's attitude, not relaxing. Such skills would be common among many experts a few years later.

The primary objective now was to defeat the Boss, for only Eric knew how formidable the werewolf Ferot truly was.

Wind-chasing Sword!

With Gravity Liberation activated, Eric instantly appeared in front of the werewolf Ferot, gripping the Abyssal Blade and repeatedly striking Ferot's chest.

Thunderbolt!

Double slash!

Slash!

Each blow dealt over a hundred damage to the werewolf Ferot, while others also managed to inflict over 20 points of damage, quickly reducing Ferot's health to 15%.

As Ferot neared defeat, excitement spread across the faces of the group.

"Don't let your guard down. Tonny, use Diabolic Lash. Ezio, get ready to charge and hamstring." Eric dodged Ferot's attacks while giving commands.

At Eric's words, everyone's hearts tightened.

A Death Stare and an Infernal Roar were already unimaginably terrifying. If it were any other team, they would have long been resurrected at the graveyard.

Did Ferot have another ace up his sleeve? How terrifying was this Infernal-level move!

Eric kept an eye on Ferot's health, and just as it dropped to 10%, the third big move was unleashed.

Rampage of Death!

This move would increase Ferot's attack speed by 100%, movement speed by 40%, and attack power by 100%, lasting until death. Countless elite teams cursed Ferot for this move.

As Ferot activated Rampage of Death, his fur turned red, soon becoming crimson, combined with blood-red eyes and sharp fangs, resembling a blood demon. The terrifying appearance made everyone involuntarily step back, feeling Ferot's dangerous aura.

Eric used Double Slash to stack the bleeding effect to 5 layers, and then he turned and fled.

With Ferot's Rampage of Death active, anyone below level 5 would be unable to withstand him, including Eric with the Demonic Weapon. The only way was to kite him and slowly wear him down.

Just as Eric dashed 30 feet away, Ferot's thick thighs swelled nearly twice their size. With a powerful kick, like a blood arrow, he charged straight at Eric.

Eric saw a large boulder ahead, but Ferot was too fast, leaving him no time. He had no choice but to make a sudden 90-degree turn.

However, he failed to turn, as Ferot smashed through the boulder, blocking his path, sending stone chips the size of a brain flying 30 feet away. The terrifying power of Ferot even made the tough Cola shudder.

If that claw hit, it would surely turn anyone into minced meat.

By now, Eric had run 60 feet away, creating a considerable distance between him and Ferot. The magical attacks continued, steadily depleting Ferot's health.

Eric's kiting strategy was successful. Every time Ferot almost caught up, Ezio would charge in with hamstring, slowing Ferot down, and then Eric would create distance. When Ezio's skill was on cooldown, Tonny would use Diabolic Lash to restrain Ferot once more. Their skills had fast cooldowns, and occasionally, with Eric's Abyssal Bind, they formed a perfect chain, toying with Ferot continuously.

7%... 6%... 5%... 3%...

When Ferot's health finally dropped to 1%, Eric turned around.

Wind-chasing Sword, Thunderbolt, Slash, Double Slash!

A sword strike landed on Ferot's chest, taking away the final 1% of his health.

At that moment, Ferot exploded, dropping over ten items, one of which caught Eric's eye. Unexpectedly, the item with an abysmal drop rate appeared.

Crimson Edge!

The bright red sword emitted a faint red glow, with red liquid dripping from the blade, exuding a strong aura of slaughter.
