Chapter 380 Eternity-Sundering Relic

"Not even one Legendary Level item fragment?" Eric's heart skipped a beat.

He didn't think Sharon was lying.

He had already witnessed the unique nature of the Sword in the Stone. Even Sharon, a Tier 4 Divine Officiant, couldn't decipher it. Eric only knew it was a legacy item because of his good fortune and the Golden Holy Mark. Otherwise, he would have been clueless.

"Good thing I came here, or I'd be in real trouble," Eric thought, looking at the Sword in the Stone with a sense of relief.

Eric had initially thought he could hire three Tier 4 professionals at a certain cost. But now, it seemed that even if he found three Tier 4 NPCs, he wouldn't be able to pay them with three Legendary Level item fragments.

And even if he had them, it wouldn't be enough...

"Alright, let's get started. I'm curious to see what this thing really is. Stand back a bit," Sharon said, her interest in the Sword in the Stone evident.

She tossed twenty-one Magic Source Stones into the air and began chanting. The stones flew to different parts of the room, which was fortunately large enough. They stopped and hovered about 20 yards away, slowly rotating as the floor beneath them glowed with a silvery light.

Eric quickly moved out of the magic circle's range and watched from a distance.

As the twenty-one Magic Source Stones floated and spun, the Sword in the Stone moved to the center of the magic circle.

Sharon let out a soft command, and the entire room seemed to freeze, filled with an intense magical energy.

Suddenly, the twenty-one Magic Source Stones shattered under the immense pressure, turning into gray smoke that was absorbed by the Sword in the Stone.

When the powerful magic from one of the stones fully entered the Sword in the Stone, it emitted a sound like a heartbeat.

At first, Eric thought it was his imagination.

But as more Magic Source Stones were absorbed, the heartbeat grew louder and stronger, as if awakening an ancient beast.

However, as each stone was absorbed, Sharon grew visibly weaker.

After the seventh stone, the room's oppressive atmosphere had diminished by half, and Sharon looked drained. By the fourteenth stone, her face was pale. When all twenty-one stones were absorbed, Sharon seemed on the verge of collapse, as if a gust of wind could knock her over.

Eric realized then how difficult it was to awaken the Sword in the Stone.

Just setting up a magic circle had weakened a Tier 4 professional to this extent. No wonder Sharon said other Tier 4 professionals wouldn't agree easily.

Eric was also deeply impressed.

What required three Tier 4 professionals, Sharon had accomplished alone. Her power was terrifying.

"Who exactly is Sharon?" Eric wondered, growing more curious about her identity.

An ordinary NPC couldn't grow this powerful so quickly. Eric had seen a woman in the Divine Tomb who looked exactly like Sharon. Although the current Sharon was far from the sleeping woman's incredible power, the pressure they exerted felt the same, differing only in intensity.

As Eric pondered Sharon's identity, the awakening ritual concluded, and the silvery magic circle dissipated.

The Sword in the Stone, which had been floating, suddenly fell, embedding half its blade into the hard floor.

"So sharp!" Sharon, still weak, marveled at the Sword in the Stone embedded in the floor.

Starview Tower was a ruin that even the Great Cataclysm couldn't destroy. Its materials were incredibly sturdy, reinforced by inherent magic arrays. Even a Tier 4 Sword Emperor wielding a Legendary Level sword couldn't leave a mark on the floor. Yet, the Sword in the Stone had easily pierced it...

The transparent crystal exterior had vanished, revealing a sword with a golden blade and hilt. The blade was as clear and pure as a diamond, its beauty breathtaking.

"How can this be... an Eternity-Sundering Relic!" Sharon was stunned, unable to find the words.

The Eternity-Sundering Relic, born of nature, contained unparalleled power. It had been damaged in the ancient war of the gods, absorbing some of their power. Whoever controlled it would gain a fraction of that ancient divine power. It was limited to Swordsman and Berserker classes.

"Eternity-Sundering Relic?" Eric was puzzled, hearing the name for the first time.

The description indicated it was incredibly powerful, a weapon used by ancient gods.

Eric knew a bit about ancient gods.

They were born of nature, possessing world-destroying power. Even a Tier 6 god-level profession in Divine Realms: Legends was like an ant before them, utterly invincible. But these ancient gods had all perished in the ancient war.

"Your luck is extraordinary. No wonder you didn't want a high-level legacy," Sharon smiled slightly. "The Eternity-Sundering Relic is recorded in ancient texts as one of the Top Ten Sacred Inheritances. Its legacy is unique, far surpassing even the top legacies of Starview Tower."

"Top Ten Sacred Inheritances?" Eric was stunned.

He had only heard of top legacies before. This was the first time he heard of the Top Ten Sacred Inheritances.

"I've only read about the Top Ten Sacred Inheritances in ancient texts. This is my first time seeing one. I don't know much about it, but I must warn you, it's not to be taken lightly."

"Just obtaining a top legacy is as difficult as a Legendary Level quest. The Top Ten Sacred Inheritances are at least as challenging. If you're not confident, don't attempt it lightly. It could be fatal, even for someone as favored as you."

Sharon's expression was unusually serious, more so than when she issued the "Immortal Crown" quest. She paused when she mentioned death.

Eric could sense Sharon's genuine concern and understood the difficulty and danger involved.

In Divine Realms: Legends, the principle of equivalent exchange was everywhere.

Legacy trials were also dangerous. Failing a basic legacy trial meant a ten-day cooldown, losing three levels, and three days of weakness.

A mid-level legacy trial was harsher, with a twenty-day cooldown, losing five levels, seven days of weakness, and even permanent loss of some basic attributes.

High-level and top legacies were even more severe...

Eric was confident he could handle a high-level legacy, with a 90% success rate. For a top legacy, he had a 50-60% chance.

But the Top Ten Sacred Inheritances were a different story. With no reference materials, Eric wasn't very confident.
