Chapter 360 Deviated Trajectory

Thinking about his sudden change, Eric lost the motivation to continue his workout. He threw on a blue tracksuit and left his newly rented apartment. He hailed a cab within the complex and headed straight to the Polaris Reach Fitness Center.

Polaris Reach was the most renowned fitness center in Evergreen City, located right in the heart of downtown. The facility was massive, covering an area equivalent to three large stadiums. It boasted top-of-the-line equipment, elite physicians and nutritionists, and first-class trainers available for guidance.

As soon as Eric arrived at the Polaris Reach Building, he noticed several luxury buses parked at the entrance.

High school students, both handsome boys and beautiful girls, were disembarking from the buses, their faces alight with excitement as they followed the Polaris Reach staff into the building.

"Is Polaris Reach organizing a student tour?" Eric was surprised. He had never seen anything like this before.

Even in his previous life, he had never heard of Polaris Reach allowing student tours.

Polaris Reach was not a place that just anyone could enter. It was a members-only facility. Without a membership, entry was impossible. Becoming a member of Polaris Reach was no easy feat; it required a certain status and recommendation. If it weren't for David securing a top ten spot in the school's martial arts competition, he wouldn't have been able to get a membership card.

Seeing hundreds of high school students suddenly entering the Polaris Reach Building was definitely unusual.

But this had nothing to do with Eric. He was there to check his physical condition. Polaris Reach had testing equipment that even the city's hospitals envied. Eric followed the students into the building.

"Hey, this area is for members only," a burly security guard said, blocking Eric's path.

"Here's my membership card," Eric said, swiping his card on the scanner. The light turned green, allowing him to pass.

The reinforced glass doors opened, and the security guard stepped aside.

On the fifteenth floor of the Polaris Reach Building, there were precise testing devices for strength, grip, speed, and reaction time. Many people were already using the equipment.

Eric immediately spotted a familiar figure undergoing a reaction test.

"Why is she here?" Eric was puzzled.

It was Katherine, the class president.

Katherine, with her hair in a ponytail, was wearing a black sports bra and tight capris, showcasing her perfect figure, a stark contrast to her usual school appearance.

The reaction test involved special rubber balls being shot out at varying speeds. The goal was to dodge them, testing one's reflexes.

Katherine moved gracefully, like a butterfly, effortlessly dodging the rubber balls. Many of the men watching were mesmerized, eager to approach her.

But this was nothing new. Katherine was already a stunning beauty with an elegant demeanor that set her apart from ordinary girls.

When the test ended, Katherine stepped out of the testing area, and many people were shocked.

The final result of her reaction test was "Intermediate Perfect."

"Who is this girl?"

"Is she a professional athlete?"

People in the hall started whispering. The guys who had wanted to approach her hesitated, unsure if they should.

As regulars, they understood the significance of the test results.

The reaction test had four levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert, each with sub-levels of Unqualified, Qualified, Excellent, and Perfect.

Most professional fighters in the city only achieved Intermediate Qualified. Only the well-known fighters reached Intermediate Perfect.

"Eric, what are you doing here?" Katherine quickly noticed Eric standing nearby and walked over.

"I'm just here for a check-up. But what about you? If the others in our class knew, they'd be shocked. Our usually composed class president has this side to her," Eric said with a smile.

Katherine blushed slightly, feeling a bit happy that Eric had been watching her. She playfully waved a small fist at him, whispering, "You better not tell anyone about this, or I'll be really mad, and the consequences will be serious."

"Katherine, since you put it that way, I promise to keep it a secret," Eric laughed, not noticing Katherine's subtle change, only feeling that she seemed more approachable.

"That's more like it. At least you have some sense," Katherine nodded in satisfaction. "Is this your first time here? The equipment can be a bit complicated. As a reward for keeping my secret, I'll show you how to use them."

Eric wanted to say he already knew, having frequently visited as the president of ShadowForge Studios in his previous life. But to avoid raising questions, he nodded in agreement.

Katherine then began showing Eric around, explaining how to use the testing equipment. Many of the men in the hall looked on with envy and jealousy, not understanding why an average-looking, not particularly strong guy like Eric was getting this treatment. They wished they could shout at Katherine to let them take his place.

But Katherine, noticing the envious glances directed at Eric, happily continued showing him the equipment.

As Katherine was explaining, several Polaris Reach staff members led a large group of high school students into the hall.

"This is the testing hall. You are all elite students selected by Polaris Reach. In a moment, you'll each undergo a series of tests here. The data will be recorded and used to determine your future benefits, so give it your all," one of the staff members explained.

Hearing this, the students began preparing eagerly, each one determined to break Polaris Reach's records.

"These students are the elite selected by Polaris Reach? What's going on?" Eric wondered, having overheard the staff. It seemed Polaris Reach was training a group of fighters, but Eric didn't understand why. Polaris Reach was just a fitness center, so why were they doing this?

In his previous life, he had never heard of Polaris Reach doing anything like this. The fact that it was happening now made Eric uneasy, sensing that history was slowly diverging from what he knew.
