"A virtual reality pod? Where'd you get the money for that?" Eric asked, shocked.
Although he had left a considerable amount of money in the studio's account, it was nowhere near enough to buy five virtual reality pods.
A single pod costs three million credits, and they're always in short supply due to the difficulty of manufacturing and the rarity of the materials needed. Unlike high-end virtual helmets, the pods are produced in limited quantities and are quickly snapped up by major corporations.

After a brief moment of contemplation, Eric turned and walked into the apartment building, heading to his rented unit.
Inside, he found a white virtual reality pod, 8 feet long, 6 feet wide, and 5 feet high, lying quietly in the bedroom. From now on, he wouldn't need the high-end virtual helmet for Divine Realms: Legends.
The pod contained nutrient fluid and a health monitoring system, allowing extended gameplay without worrying about hunger or physical discomfort. Instead, it provided ample rest and recovery.
With 97% immersion, the pod would elevate his sensory experience to new heights, especially in adapting to the game's physical demands, almost rivaling real-life capabilities.
With the pod, Eric could finally unleash his true potential.
Looking around the sparsely furnished room, the expensive pod seemed out of place. It alone was worth more than the entire apartment.
"It's about time," Eric noted, seeing it was already 8 PM, his usual time to log into Divine Realms: Legends. He walked to the kitchen freezer and took out a Grade S Nutrition Serum from the metal case.
He placed two bottles in the freezer and opened one, drinking it in one gulp.
Unlike other nutritional serums, Grade S was unique. Despite being stored at 32°F, it felt like swallowing fire, burning from his mouth to his stomach, causing a stinging sensation. The treasures dropped by the Mechanical Slaughterer awaited his appraisal. Being rare items, they had a two-hour hold time and required twelve hours in-game to unlock. Now was the perfect time to log in and check them out.
The thought of rare drops excited Eric. In his previous life, even a regular mutated monster's loot made major guilds envious. Now, dealing with a high-level Overlord's drops, he couldn't predict the extent of their value.
