Chapter 295 Phantom Beast
Although Eric was very annoyed, he knew that if he wanted to rescue FlameDancer and the others, by the time he ran to Silverleaf Forest, they would probably be done for.
"I understand. I'll contact Isabella right now." Eric then hung up Rosewater's call, opened his friends list, and contacted Isabella.
Devouring Serpents and Aether Wing were allies.
Since they had a mutual defense pact, Isabella naturally did not refuse. In fact, Isabella had learned about the situation even before Eric, so she had already organized her people, and they were on their way to Silverleaf Forest.
There were a total of two thousand people, five hundred of whom were elites, posing a significant threat to the six thousand members of the Darkstar Guild blocking the way in Silverleaf Forest.
"Ms. Collins, thank you for your help. From now on, members of Devouring Serpents will get a 10% discount when purchasing consumables at StellarTrails Emporium," Eric said gratefully.
"Since you said it, I won't refuse," Isabella smiled slightly. Now, more than half of the players in Silvervale City went to StellarTrails Emporium to buy things, not only because the items were good, but also because of the variety and quantity. Major guilds usually went to StellarTrails Emporium to stock up before going on raids. A 10% discount could save a lot of money.
"But what's up with the Darkstar Guild this time? Small skirmishes are one thing, but now they're going all out. Isn't RogueVortex afraid that his guild will be severely weakened and unable to compete for the first clear of the three major dungeons?" Isabella asked curiously.
The competition for the first clear of the three major dungeons had reached a critical point. They were just one final boss away from achieving the first clear and gaining a significant advantage.
But the Darkstar Guild targeting the Guild of Aether Wing at this juncture seemed like a foolish move.
It's still early in Divine Realms: Legends, and everyone is busy leveling up, raiding dungeons, and strengthening their forces, afraid of falling behind. Even if there are conflicts, they are usually restrained.
After all, an all-out war between guilds is bad for both sides. If other guilds take advantage of the situation, the losses would be even greater. Unless there is a significant power disparity, an all-out war is unlikely.
Darkstar Guild and Aether Wing are both among the top six guilds in Silvervale City, and their power levels are not vastly different. Starting a war like this seems off.
"I'm afraid it's not RogueVortex who wants to start the war, but the powerful organization behind them, The Stygian Alliance," Eric said with a bitter smile.
"The Stygian Alliance!" Isabella frowned. "I see. I was wondering how the Darkstar Guild suddenly had so many experts. So the mysterious force behind them is the Stygian Alliance. But how did you find out? I have quite a few informants, and none of them discovered the hidden force behind the Darkstar Guild."
"Because Ethan from The Stygian Alliance approached me, wanting to invest in the Guild of Aether Wing. But their offer was too low, so I refused. He must have been enraged and now wants to destroy Aether Wing," Eric explained without any reservation.
Isabella immediately understood.
No wonder the Darkstar Guild was so fearless. With the resources of The Stygian Alliance, even a fraction of their power from the eastern region of Eldoria could wipe out the Guild of Aether Wing. With such a significant power disparity, they naturally weren't afraid of an all-out war.
"So it was Ethan. He is indeed a vengeful person. But with The Stygian Alliance's financial power, their offer to acquire Aether Wing, which has a guild base, shouldn't have been low. It should have been at least five or six billion credits," Isabella said, suddenly understanding but still puzzled. Ethan wasn't known to be stingy.
"Ten billion credits and a few hundred experts joining, plus a hundred gold coins of support every week," Eric said truthfully.
"Ten billion credits and a hundred gold coins every week, Ethan is indeed generous. Even I might be tempted, and you thought it was too little. No wonder he was enraged," Isabella chuckled.
Eric just smiled without explaining.
The fact that Silverwood Manor was the base of the Guild of Aether Wing was known only to the core members of the guild. Others only knew that the Guild of Aether Wing had a base, but not which one it was. After all, there were many properties in Silvervale City, and Silverwood Manor was still under construction, needing two more days to be completed and revealed to everyone.
After chatting with Isabella for a few more moments, Eric ended the call and began the seventh trial.
With Isabella leading a force of two thousand people, it was almost certain that the Darkstar Guild's blockade would be broken. Eric's task was to continue improving his strength, acquiring better equipment and items, and gradually enhancing the guild's foundation.
As for the battle in Silverleaf Forest, Eric could only watch from afar. Even if he rushed over now, it would probably be too late by the time he arrived.
However, Eric noted this grudge and vowed to make the Darkstar Guild and The Stygian Alliance pay back tenfold in the future.
The venue for the seventh trial was an ancient gladiatorial arena.
Eric was stunned when he saw his opponent. "Why is it me?"
Eric was surprised to see a familiar figure gradually appearing in the arena. However, after using Insightful Gaze, he immediately understood.
Phantom Beast, a rare special elite, level 20, with 200,000 health points.
This Phantom Beast could transform into the enemy's appearance and use all their skills, in addition to having a terrifying amount of health. For players, defeating it was extremely difficult.
The only advantage players had over monsters was the variety of skills and the combination of moves to exert powerful strength. Now that the Phantom Beast had the same skills, the player's advantage was gone. The Phantom Beast's skill power might even be superior.
"Good, I wanted to test this out," Eric said, stepping forward and slashing with a Slash.
The Phantom Beast also charged at Eric, slashing with a sword.
The two swords collided, creating a dazzling spark.
However, Eric, being a player, was at a disadvantage in terms of strength compared to the Phantom Beast. Eric was easily pushed back, retreating repeatedly, and the Phantom Beast also had the advantage in attack speed.
Although the damage from weapon collisions was small, after dozens or even hundreds of collisions, Eric would eventually be worn down. The Phantom Beast had 200,000 health points, while Eric, at level 21, had just over 2,600 health points, and Eric took more damage.
Not to mention the various moves both sides used.
When Eric used Thunderbolt, the Phantom Beast dodged with Zephyr Stride. It then turned and used Thunderbolt, which Eric dodged with Zephyr Stride as well. The Phantom Beast followed up with Wind-chasing Sword and then a quick Slash, forcing Eric to use Parry to block.
After blocking the Slash, Eric immediately used Inferno Thunderstorm, but the Phantom Beast blocked it with Parry.
Eric then used Pyroblast Burst, only to see the Phantom Beast counter with Swordsoar Ascension.
The battle was intense, with both sides exchanging blows.
In just over ten seconds, Eric's health dropped to 60%, while the Phantom Beast hadn't lost any health. Its combat recovery offset the damage from the collisions.
"No wonder this is the seventh trial. The use of normal attacks and skills is so ruthless and tricky," Eric said, not feeling afraid but rather excited.
"But can you do this move?" Eric smiled at the Phantom Beast and used Arcane Black Emperor.
Several wisps of black mist emerged from the Abyssal Blade's sword and entered Eric's body.
