Chapter 348 Snatching Food from the Tiger's Mouth

The immense destructive power of Sky Piercer blew everyone's minds.

The entire street was wiped out, leaving nothing but rubble.

No one could have imagined that a single spell could pack such world-ending power.

This shockingly realistic experience left the surviving players questioning if this was really just a game.

The heavy air, the cold wind, the stench of blood, the vibrations from the ground, and the pain in their bodies constantly reminded them of their situation.

Suddenly, everyone felt that Divine Realms: Legends was unlike any virtual game they had played before.

In their minds, virtual games were just data, causing higher damage numbers. Even if they dealt millions or tens of millions of damage in one hit, it wouldn't faze them, as it was all just data.

No matter how realistic Divine Realms: Legends was, it was still a virtual game, and everything was fake.

This impression was deeply ingrained in all players' minds and had never changed.

But they suddenly realized they were wrong.

Data alone couldn't shock them, but the sheer destructive power was far more intuitive than any numbers.

"Wow, that's insane!"

"Is this what a Tier 4 class can do?"

"If we could advance to Tier 4, could we be this strong too?"

Everyone looked up at Wiseman, who was floating in mid-air, their minds filled with various thoughts—excitement, fear, exhilaration, and longing.

In reality, there were no superhumans or people with extraordinary abilities, no one who could fly freely or traverse the skies and earth. But in the incredibly realistic game of Divine Realms: Legends, all of this was possible, as if everyone had entered a magical otherworld.

Thinking of this, no one saw Divine Realms: Legends as just a game anymore; it was a world where they could start a second life!

"We really can't underestimate Wiseman, being able to cast a Tier 4 spell so easily," Eric said, having dodged the range of Sky Piercer with his incredible speed, thus avoiding any damage.

High-level spells usually had long casting times, making them easy to interrupt and causing significant damage. When facing enemies of the same tier, magic users rarely had the chance to cast high-level spells, often resorting to lower-tier spells with shorter casting times.

Casting a Tier 4 spell like Wiseman did was extremely difficult.

But against an anomaly like the Mechanical Slaughterer, Wiseman could easily cast a destructive Tier 4 spell, showcasing his immense combat power.

As Eric focused on Wiseman in the sky, the Mechanical Slaughterer emerged from the crater created by Sky Piercer.

"No way, it took a Tier 4 spell and is still moving like that?" Eric said, slightly surprised as he looked at the slightly damaged Mechanical Slaughterer.

High-level spells didn't just deal damage; they also caused significant disruption to the enemy's physical state.

In battles, health points were just a reference. Some players could still fight effectively with just 1 HP left, while others might lose most of their combat power with just a small amount of damage.

High-level skills were powerful not only because of their damage but also because they greatly affected the enemy's combat capabilities.

Although the Mechanical Slaughterer looked battered, with many parts damaged and less than 50% of its health remaining, its combat power was hardly affected.

"Such an enviable physique."

In his previous life, Eric had been a Tier 3 peak Sword King and knew how important a strong physique was for a player.

The Mechanical Slaughterer might have been down to less than 50% health, but it still had almost as much health left as Wiseman. With its combat power unaffected, it could still put up a fight.

But what happened next totally threw Eric for a loop. Instead of charging at Wiseman after taking to the air, the Mechanical Slaughterer turned tail and fled.

Everyone was stunned.

No one expected a monster to run away when it couldn't win. This level of intelligence was pretty impressive.

Even though the Mechanical Slaughterer tried to escape, Wiseman wasn't about to let it go. With a teleportation spell, he appeared right next to it and cast Ice Burst, sending a barrage of ice arrows flying. In an instant, the Mechanical Slaughterer was frozen into an ice sculpture and crashed to the ground, creating a huge crater.

Wiseman then waved his staff, summoning several water-blue magic circles from which water snakes emerged, binding the Mechanical Slaughterer in a large water sphere.

This was a Tier 2 spell, Current Constraint, which greatly slowed the target's movements.

The Mechanical Slaughterer struggled to move, then used Bladestorm Tempest, which granted immunity to magical control effects and increased movement speed. Breaking free from the Current Constraint, it charged at Wiseman.

Wiseman reacted quickly, chanting a spell and writing three incantations in the air. A layer of ice shield appeared around him, absorbing a significant amount of damage and slowing any attackers.

Blades struck Wiseman's ice shield for three seconds without breaking it, though cracks began to appear, indicating it wouldn't hold much longer.

Wiseman then prepared his next Tier 3 spell, Earth Spear.

Suddenly, earth-colored spears erupted from the ground, striking the spinning Mechanical Slaughterer, dealing considerable damage and pushing it back repeatedly. After twenty-one spears, the Mechanical Slaughterer was pushed over thirty yards away.

In a fit of rage, the Mechanical Slaughterer threw its serrated greatsword at Wiseman.

Wiseman teleported to dodge, then unleashed dozens of lightning snakes that struck the Mechanical Slaughterer.

As Wiseman and the Mechanical Slaughterer clashed, Eric quietly moved closer.

By now, Eric had realized that the Mechanical Slaughterer was no match for Wiseman.

The Mechanical Slaughterer's combat power wasn't weak, but the anomalies needed time to grow stronger. The gap between the Mechanical Slaughterer and Wiseman wouldn't have been so large if it had more skills and experience in movement and evasion.

With its current combat power, a typical level 150 Tier 3 high-level NPC could handle it.

If given more time to grow, even Wiseman might not be able to defeat it, as it had mutated from a high-level Overlord monster with incredible potential.

If such a powerful Mechanical Slaughterer were killed, the experience points and item drops would be unimaginable.

Having witnessed the Mechanical Slaughterer's strength and with Wiseman now fighting it, the players knew that approaching would be suicidal. They wisely stayed back, waiting for Wiseman to kill the Mechanical Slaughterer so they could rush in for the loot.

Eric, however, wanted to act first.

If he waited until the battle ended, he wouldn't stand a chance against the thousands of players. Eric was not only interested in the loot but also in the experience points from killing the Mechanical Slaughterer.

The Ring of Seven Luminaries and the Pyroblast Burst skill were both useful to Eric.

But to enhance their power, he needed a lot of experience points.

If he could land the final blow on the Mechanical Slaughterer, he would gain 60% of the experience points, which was no small amount.
