Chapter 332 Encounter with the Demonic Weapon Again

The Blood Hand Society's headquarters resembled an underground labyrinth, with numerous twists and turns. There were quite a few level 30 Blood Hand Society knights patrolling the area. These knights wore red leather armor, wielded long spears, and had 200,000 health points. These NPCs moved in groups of ten, making them formidable in combat.

If Eric and his team charged in, even with Kyle, a first-tier Swordsman, by his side, the outcome wouldn't change. They would still be instantly killed by these Blood Hand Society knights.

However, even if Eric and his team had the strength to defeat these knights, charging in would still mean certain death due to the various traps and spells set up around the area. In the previous life, the Supremacy Alliance had paid a hefty price for this.

Eric, of course, wouldn't act recklessly like the Supremacy Alliance. He decided to take a detour, avoiding direct confrontation. The area was well-connected, so with some caution, they could find a way around.

After spending quite some time, Eric and his team finally arrived at a heavy, tightly closed stone door.

Next to the stone door was a sign that read "Control Room."

This was the place that controlled all the traps and spells in the Blood Hand Society's headquarters. If they could disable all the traps and spells, the entire headquarters would no longer be a threat.

As soon as Cola pushed open the heavy stone door, they found an old man in a black robe with one eye inside the control room. He was holding a redwood staff and manipulating a magic array.

Otis Jenkins, a first-tier Elementalist, level 30, with 1,000,000 health points.

"Good, just as I guessed, only level 30, not a second-tier Sorcerer at level 50," Eric said, looking at Otis with a sigh of relief.

If it weren't for the quest, Otis would be extremely difficult to deal with. Although he was only level 50, as a second-tier Sorcerer, he could easily kill a first-tier level 50 player, let alone a second-tier NPC.

"President, a level 30 first-tier Elementalist might be tough to handle. Should we call for more people?" Cola suggested, knowing his own strength. He was only level 22. If it were a level 20 first-tier Elementalist, he could manage, but a level 30 first-tier Elementalist was too much. The tier suppression alone would cause significant damage, not to mention the level suppression. Combined, even as an MT, he couldn't withstand the attacks of a first-tier Elementalist.

"Don't worry, you don't need to tank," Eric smiled and then looked at his personal guard, Kyle. "Kyle is our MT. You just need to assist, activate the magic resistance aura, and use Blessing of Protection on Kyle when necessary."

Cola suddenly remembered that Eric had Kyle, a personal guard with 18,000 health points, much more durable than himself.

A level 30 first-tier Swordsman, although not as high in health as Otis, had much stronger melee capabilities than a first-tier Elementalist.

"Kyle, you take on Otis head-on. Violet Mistflow, heal Kyle. Cola, be ready to use Blessing of Protection," Eric commanded.

Kyle didn't hesitate and charged at Otis, slashing with his sword and dealing over 4,000 damage. Compared to the high-level Overlord Nebulae Tiger, Otis's defense was much lower.

"Damn intruders, become my test subjects!" Otis teleported, dodging Kyle's sword skill, and then waved his staff, summoning a water-blue magic shield around him.

The magic shield was a common defensive skill for Elementalists, capable of absorbing significant damage.

Otis then cast a Frost Barrier, preventing Kyle from advancing easily. However, Kyle wasn't an ordinary guard. He immediately activated Wind-chasing Sword, leaping over the Frost Barrier and landing several strikes on Otis.

The magic shield shattered into starlight after a few hits from Kyle, but it had bought Otis some time. He cast Frost Nova Cascade, spreading bone-chilling white mist. Kyle leaped again, dodging the Frost Nova Cascade. Otis chanted a spell and pointed at Kyle, sending fireballs flying towards him.

Kyle spun around, his sword flashing, slicing the incoming fireballs in half.

The battle between Kyle and Otis was intense, and ordinary players would struggle to keep up. Cola and Violet Mistflow watched in awe.

It was their first time witnessing a battle between NPCs, and it was more thrilling than many expert player battles. They felt a bit ashamed, realizing that if they were to fight Otis at the same level and tier, they would likely lose.

As they continued to watch the fight, they simulated the battle in their minds and came to a shocking conclusion.

They weren't a match for Otis!

The reason wasn't the difference in health points but the gap in combat skills, leaving them speechless.

"Don't be discouraged. These are high-level NPCs, not ordinary monsters. It's normal for your combat skills to be inferior now. With more experience, you'll eventually surpass Otis," Eric reassured them, understanding their thoughts.

Otis was different from the elite Blood Hand Society members outside. He was originally a second-tier NPC with advanced combat intelligence, unlike ordinary NPCs.

As for Kyle, he was an Obsidian Level guard, originally a second-tier Sword Master with excellent combat skills.

Eric was also amazed the first time he saw high-level NPCs fighting, especially those above the third tier. Their skill level was impressive, with over 70% mastery of their combat abilities, according to the Divine Realms: Legends evaluation standard. They were far superior to top player experts, even though Otis could only utilize 60% of his combat abilities.

It was normal for Cola and Violet Mistflow to be outmatched by Otis.

Violet Mistflow began healing Kyle, while Eric assisted, occasionally using Inferno Thunderstorm and Abyssal Bind. He also switched the Ring of Seven Luminaries between the Ring of Time and the Ring of Fire, using Absolute Time and Flame Storm, respectively. This frustrated Otis, who, as a spellcaster, struggled without being able to cast spells.

Whenever Otis tried to cast a powerful spell, Eric would time it perfectly with Absolute Time, forcing Otis to defend against Kyle's sword skills with his staff. For a spellcaster, being unable to cast spells was like a tiger without claws and teeth, easily defeated by Eric and his team.

Otis's health rapidly declined.

90%... 70%... 30%.

After several minutes, Otis finally fell, turning into a generous amount of experience points. Eric leveled up to 24.

Eric then disabled the traps and spells in the Blood Hand Society's headquarters. Without them, dealing with the NPCs became much easier.

"President, I found a key next to him. What do you think it's for?" Cola excitedly asked Eric.

"A key?" Eric was puzzled. Normally, these NPCs wouldn't drop any items.

Eric examined the key, a purple-gold key with intricate Sorcery markings, but it showed no information, only "unknown."

"What a strange key." Eric had no memory of this key, but since it dropped from Otis, it must be something special. "It doesn't show any information. We'll have to take it to an appraiser in Silvervale City."

Thinking of the unknown, Eric remembered the Holy Mark's skill, Omniscient Eye.

Omniscient Eye could reveal all information, surpassing even the appraiser's The Eye of Appraisal.

"Let's take a look." Eric used Omniscient Eye and examined the key again.

This time, the key's secrets were fully revealed to Eric.

"This is a Demonic Weapon!" Eric was shocked, staring at the purple-gold key.
