Chapter 389 Book of Inheritance

Using a Tier 2 magic scroll takes a bit of time. If you're up against regular players or bosses, it's no big deal.

But when you're facing high-level NPCs or expert players, that time is enough for them to dodge or even kill you.

Eric had just spread out the magic scroll when Doron's armor fully regenerated. Doron looked at Eric with a mocking expression.

Doron raised his silver greatsword and lunged forward, charging at Eric with astonishing speed.

Eric was in the middle of activating the Dragon Flame Dance magic scroll. If he moved, all his efforts would be wasted.

"Come on, come on!"

"Hurry up!"

Eric was anxious, but the activation bar for Dragon Flame Dance hadn't finished loading.

Doron leaped again, raising his silver greatsword, aiming straight for Eric's head. The sword was wrapped in deep red fire snakes, causing the surrounding air to sizzle.

At the last moment, Dragon Flame Dance was activated.

Suddenly, the crimson magic scroll erupted into towering flames, transforming into a massive fire dragon that soared into the sky, opening its jaws to bite Doron.

Doron sneered. Not only did he not dodge, but he gripped his silver greatsword tighter and swung it down with even more force.

The fire snakes collided with the Flame Dragon.

Dragon Flame Dance, being a Tier 2 magic, was more powerful. The Flame Dragon devoured the fire snakes, and Doron was sent flying, taking over ten thousand points of damage.

But with Doron's three hundred thousand health points, it was just a scratch.

Doron landed, immediately stood up, and charged at Eric without any pause, looking completely different from before. This time, Doron's armor showed no cracks.

"What the heck is going on?" Eric stared at the unscathed Doron, utterly confused.

Dragon Flame Dance was clearly more powerful than the Inferno Thunderstorm he had used earlier, and it had dealt over ten thousand points of damage to Doron. Yet Doron's armor remained intact, and he seemed even more vigorous and determined.

Seeing this, Eric finally understood.

The previous phenomenon wasn't caused by attacking Doron.

As Doron charged again, Eric suddenly thought of a possibility.

"Hope this works."

Eric's body was still a bit numb. Even if Doron didn't use his ice field, Eric couldn't withstand a direct hit. His escape skills were all used up, so he raised the Abyssal Blade and used Earthshatter Strike.

The sharp Abyssal Blade pierced into the black stone slab, and Eric swung it with all his might.

Eric's target wasn't Doron but the black stone slab beneath his feet.

Seeing this, Doron's eyes widened with rage, wishing he could swallow Eric whole, and he sped up even more.

But no matter how fast Doron was, he couldn't match the speed of Eric's attack on the stone slab.

With a powerful swing of the Abyssal Blade, the black stone slab was easily cut by the silver-gray sword energy, splitting into several pieces and leaving a long crack.

Immediately, Doron's armor showed a clear crack.

"Yes!"

"Got it right!"

Eric was ecstatic. If attacking the black stone slab could immobilize Doron, he could freely use Tier 2 magic scrolls and easily take Doron down.

"Despicable challenger!" Doron was no longer relaxed; his eyes turned blood-red. "You'll be trapped here forever!"

Though Doron's armor had larger cracks, he didn't stop. He charged at Eric, swinging his sword down.

Flame Cross Slash!

Eric didn't fully understand what was happening, but instinctively used Parry to block.

Eric staggered back a few steps before steadying himself.

Even though Eric had to use his life-saving skill, Parry, he couldn't help but smile.

Normally, with Doron's strength, even if Eric blocked the damage, the impact would send him flying over ten yards. Now, he only retreated a few steps, with just numb hands.

This proved Doron's strength had weakened significantly.

Doron hadn't attacked immediately before because he feared exposing the black stone slab's weakness, which would greatly reduce his power. So he stood still, repairing his armor.

But repairing the armor was just a cover for fixing the black stone slab. Doron's position had blocked Eric's view, preventing him from seeing the damaged slab behind Doron.

The second leap attack was to prevent Dragon Flame Dance from damaging the slab again.

Despite Doron's efforts to hide, Eric's keen instincts saw through it.

Knowing he was exposed, Doron attacked furiously, trying to eliminate Eric quickly.

But once a secret is discovered, it's no longer a secret. Knowing Doron's weakness, Eric activated Swordsoar Ascension and used Thunderbolt to attack the ground.

Blue lightning transformed into hungry wolves, piercing the black stone slab and turning it into rubble.

"Die!"

Doron was furious, slashing at Eric, but each strike was blocked by Swordsoar Ascension, and each strike grew weaker.

Seeing Swordsoar Ascension's defense running out, Eric switched the Ring of Seven Luminaries from Ring of Wind to Ring of Water.

Ring of Water boosts healing by 60%, reduces spell cost by 30%, and has the skill Life Bloom, which instantly heals the target for 20% of their health per second for 40 seconds, with a cooldown of 1 minute 30 seconds.

Eric's health was only 1100. Even with Doron weakened, Eric couldn't withstand many hits, so he used Life Bloom on himself.

Instantly, Eric's health recovered over 1000 points, and he continued to heal over 1000 points per second for 40 seconds.

Then Eric faced Doron head-on.

Eric blocked Doron's attacks while targeting the black stone slab, avoiding direct confrontation.

Though Doron was powerful, his Flame Cross Slash was devastating. Even with Slash to block, Eric still took over 1500 points of damage. But Flame Cross Slash had a long cooldown, and by the time Doron used it again, Eric's health was fully restored.

In just 40 seconds, Eric destroyed most of the black stone slab on the platform.

Doron weakened significantly, losing both strength and speed, making it easier for Eric to handle.

Occasionally using Phantom Slash to create clones to distract Doron, Eric hid and used Tier 2 magic scrolls to quickly destroy the slab, infuriating Doron.

When all the black stone slabs were shattered, Eric prepared to focus on Doron. Doron's armor shattered completely, scattering on the ground.

Doron clutched his head, screaming in agony, his cries echoing across Sword Peak Mountain.

Though Doron's health was full, it suddenly vanished, and he dissolved into starlight.

He dropped a pitch-black key with a faint blue glow, a silver stone slab, a Page of Inheritance, and a fragment of the Broken Steel Set design.

Before Eric could pick up the loot, all the Pages of Inheritance in his backpack flew out and merged with the final Page of Inheritance, forming a thick ancient book. The cover bore large golden runes, translated for players as the Book of Inheritance.
