Chapter 37 Jet Blasters
Upon seeing the short Goblin operating a massive steel robot, everyone instinctively knew it was dangerous. They heard Eric's warning, then didn't even bother picking up their dropped items, and bolted into the forest without a moment's hesitation.
Naturally, Eric wasn't going to stay behind.
The Perilous Goblin in front of him was an extremely dangerous creature, especially when it first appeared, even stronger than a werewolf Ferot in death frenzy mode.
The Perilous Goblin was a special elite, at level 5, with a health of 1600/1600.
After clearing out Roving Goblins and Goblin Overseers, there was a small chance that a Perilous Goblin would appear, and its appearance was a nightmare for players.
In Divine Realms: Legends, it was said that never underestimate a Goblin's intelligence because of its small size. If one angered them, they could quickly annihilate you.
In his previous life, Eric had seen a Perilous Goblin once by chance. It was when an elite team was collectively mining and had killed a bunch of Goblins. Then, the Perilous Goblin appeared, and the elite team was excited, not expecting to encounter such a rare special elite. They charged at it with enthusiasm, but the twenty-member elite team ended up in tragedy.
Despite the Perilous Goblin having only 1600 health, its defense was extraordinary, boasting an 80% damage reduction. A level 4 Berserker's axe only dealt 2 points of damage, while the Perilous Goblin's attack was even more fearsome. A burst of bullets sent everyone back to the city for free.
Although Eric's team tried their best to escape, the Perilous Goblin was evidently furious at the evil deeds of them. The rocket on the robot's back suddenly ignited, making the 10-foot-tall steel machine speed up and charge straight at Eric's team.
During the chase, Tonny kept firing Shadow Bolts while running.
Although Tonny hit the Perilous Goblin, the damage was only 4 points.
Tonny saw the damage, and his small eyes widened. Then, he exclaimed, "This is disgusting! If this Goblin wasn't wearing armor, I could kill him instantly!"
"Don't worry about that now; just run and dodge the bullets. Once we get more than 3600 feet away from the mountain, the Perilous Goblin will go back," Eric said, surprised that Tonny's skills had improved so much after his explanation, able to hit the target while running. But facing the Perilous Goblin head-on was foolish.
Understanding Eric's point, Tonny began chanting Diabolic Lash, causing five thorny vines to entangle the Perilous Goblin, significantly slowing it down and allowing the team to widen the gap.
When the Perilous Goblin broke free from the thorns, a series of high damage numbers appeared above its head: -23, -24, -23, -23, -24, reducing its health to 1479.
The damage from Diabolic Lash was astonishing.
Tonny was shocked. A level 3 Shadow Bolt only dealt 4 points of damage, while the evil thorns caused over a hundred. The difference was too great. Could it be that the Perilous Goblin had a weakness for this?
Observing the Perilous Goblin's health rapidly diminishing, Eric felt a glimmer of hope. The Perilous Goblin wasn't immune to plant-based attacks. He immediately commanded, "Everyone stops. Cola, draw the Perilous Goblin's aggro and face away from the group. Everyone else, attack and watch your positioning. As soon as the Perilous Goblin raises its gun, dodge immediately. Tonny, use Diabolic Lash as soon as it's off cooldown. We have a chance to take it down."
Even if they attempted to flee within a 3600-foot range, their survival was uncertain. Therefore, they might as well fight it out and take the chance to defeat this Perilous Goblin.
In the previous life, no player had ever taken down a Perilous Goblin. If they did, who knew what good things might drop.
At that moment, the Perilous Goblin's aggro was on Tonny, but Ezio charged in first, using Whirlwind Slash to deal 3 points of damage.
Although the damage from Whirlwind Slash was low, it caused a brief stun, giving Cola a chance to use Divine Strike and Punishment, dealing -3 and -2 damage, firmly drawing the Perilous Goblin's aggro.
The Perilous Goblin swung its right arm's mechanical saw at Cola. He blocked with his shield but was pushed back three steps, taking 147 points of damage. Shocked, Cola quickly rolled to dodge the next saw attack while Drowsy Sloth cast two healing spells to recover nearly a hundred health points for Cola.
"That's some serious damage," Ezio exclaimed, quickly retreating 30 feet. If he got hit once, his health would drop to zero.
Eric wasn't afraid. He moved behind the Perilous Goblin, unleashing a series of skills: Thunderbolt, Double Slash, and Slash. Occasionally, a critical hit would deal 16 points of damage, which was already high compared to others.
But the Perilous Goblin looked at Eric's attacks with disdain and continued its frenzied assault on Cola.
A series of fierce attacks forced Cola to retreat continuously, his health dropping rapidly. Drowsy Sloth couldn't keep up with the healing, and Cola was getting closer to death. At the critical moment, Eric used Abyssal Bind, trapping the Perilous Goblin with nine dark chains, giving Cola a chance to recuperate..
In those 3 seconds, despite everyone's frantic attacks, they only reduced the Perilous Goblin's health by 7%, less than the damage from one of Tonny's Diabolic Lashes.
When the 3 seconds ended, the Perilous Goblin broke free, a sneer on its green face. With a flick of its tiny hands on the controls, the saw arm executed a Cyclone Strike, drawing a beautiful arc. Eric was sent flying, crashing into a tree, and losing 286 health points. With Cola's health partially restored, he quickly charged back in, using Divine Strike and Punishment to draw aggro.
But the Perilous Goblin ignored Cola, raising its left arm's gun and firing at Eric.
A dense barrage of bullets flew towards Eric, who had just landed, leaving him with no possible means of evasion.
Phantom Slay!
Eric's clone appeared in front of him, deflecting the bullets, while Eric activated Gravity Liberation, leaping to the treetops and out of the Perilous Goblin's attack range. The clone was destroyed.
After emptying its clip, the Perilous Goblin reloaded and charged at Eric. The others continued attacking, slowly chipping away at its health.
But with Gravity Liberation active, Eric was hard to hit. Using the trees for cover, he continually kited the Perilous Goblin.
Tonny used Diabolic Lash whenever it was ready.
The Perilous Goblin's health steadily dropped: 64%... 50%... 30%... 20%... 10%...
When the Perilous Goblin's health dropped to 10%, it jumped out of the steel robot, wearing rocket shoes, and started fleeing.
"No way. Is it running away?" Tonny exclaimed, watching the Perilous Goblin escape at high speed.
Everyone else was stunned, not expecting such high intelligence from the Goblin to know when to flee.
"We can't let it escape, or all our efforts will be in vain," Cola said, chasing after it. He was furious from being bullied by the Perilous Goblin and couldn't let it get away.
"Run away? No way!" Eric used a Wind-chasing Sword to dash forward.
But the Perilous Goblin remained calm. It made a face at Eric, pressed a button on its waist, and the Jet Blasters spewed out a large amount of red flames, preparing to fly away.
