Chapter 111 The Hidden Dragon in the Abyss
"Leo Ironblade!"
"Leo Ironblade..."
Some players from the Martial Alliance were left utterly astounded witnessing the ease with which Leo Ironblade was defeated. After all, they had personally witnessed the immense power of Leo Ironblade. He had effortlessly dispatched ordinary players as if it were a trivial task. Now, to see him taken down by Eric in just a few moves was simply incomprehensible.
The other guild leaders watching from afar were also dumbfounded. Only Thornheart knew the truth: from the moment Leo Ironblade provoked Eric, Martial Alliance in Willowbrook Town was doomed.
However, others were unaware of this.
Leo Ironblade had made quite a name for himself in Willowbrook Town. Previously, it was said that he was caught off guard and killed by Eric in a sneak attack. In a head-to-head fight, Leo Ironblade was definitely the stronger one. No one expected that in a fair fight, Leo Ironblade would be defeated in just a few moves.
Rumors were indeed unreliable. Seeing Eric's speed and precision with his sword, striking eight times in one move, even they admitted they couldn't block it. Combined with Eric's high attack power, Leo Ironblade was definitely no match.
Eric, this Swordsman, was definitely not simple- no wonder the Ice Goddess stood up for him.
"I originally thought Leo Ironblade would be a major competitor. Now it seems he's just a flash in the pan from some small game, acting recklessly and attacking anyone he sees."
"Martial Alliance is done for this time. First, they acted like mad dogs, provoking top experts, then arrogantly declared war on the Ice Goddess. Do they genuinely think surviving in Divine Realms: Legends is that easy?"
"There are already enough idiots in real life, and now they come to Divine Realms: Legends to act crazy. Martial Alliance is clearly from some small game, not knowing their place. Martial Alliance is about to be wiped out in Willowbrook Town."
In Divine Realms: Legends, new studios and guilds enter edevery day, and many also disappeared daily. This was the norm in Divine Realms: Legends.
With Leo Ironblade dead and no one to command, the entire Martial Alliance fell into chaos, with everyone frantically trying to escape.
Eric naturally wouldn't miss this opportunity to damage Martial Alliance heavily. He immediately picked up Leo Ironblade's dropped items and activated Zephyr Stride to chase them down.
Eric didn't bother chasing the level 3 novice players but specifically targeted Martial Alliance's elites. Each one he killed dropped a piece of Bronze Equipment, causing significant losses to Martial Alliance.
"Simon Hemdrift, we meet again." Eric blocked the path of several Martial Alliance elites, holding the Abyssal Blade horizontally. He noticed one familiar face among them: Simon Hemdrift, who had harassed Violet Mistflow and caused trouble for him the other day.
Simon Hemdrift was taken aback, pointing a trembling finger at Eric, and timidly exclaimed, "Kai Blackthorn, you shameless scoundrel! Picking on four individuals all by yourself. What kind of expert are you?"
Without a word, Eric stepped forward, swinging his dual swords, creating eight sword shadows aimed at the four.
A Shield Warrior immediately activated Shield Wall to block Eric's attack, a Berserker charged at Eric, a Sorcerer cast Shadow Bolt, and Simon Hemdrift, desperate, used Slash against Eric.
Seeing their coordinated attack, Eric knew it wouldn't be good to confront them head-on. He used Phantom Slay to block in front of him, then made a quick turn, stepping with an illusory movement, leaving behind afterimages.
The clones continuously blocked the four's attacks, taking some damage in the process.
However, after Eric dodged to the side, he swung the Abyssal Blade fiercely, and three Thunderbolt strikes hit the three melee fighters engaged with his clones. Simon Hemdrift and the Berserker were instantly killed, while the Shield Warrior barely survived with Shield Wall but was taken down by a clone's Slash. Only the Sorcerer remained, diligently chanting spells.
Eric used a Wind-chasing Sword, moving as fast as the wind. The Sorcerer tried to flee in panic but was struck in the back by Eric's Slash, dealing 1156 critical damage and killing him instantly.
The difference in equipment and combat skills allowed Eric to quickly end the fight. He picked up the loot from the four and continued to hunt down other elites.
Over ten minutes later, every elite member of the Martial Alliance had perished. Eric's onslaught against the Martial Alliance had been nothing short of devastating, dealing near-catastrophic damage. The hope of the Martial Alliance to compete for dominance in Willowbrook Town was now an impossibility.
"Ms. Collins, thank you for your help today. Otherwise, our losses would have been significant," Eric said, looking at Isabella gratefully.
Fighting Martial Alliance, even if he could kill many and escape in the end, others would surely die.
"It's nothing, just a small effort. Although Martial Alliance suffered heavy losses in Willowbrook Town, they have people in other towns, too. When everyone gathers in Silvervale City at level 10, Martial Alliance won't be as easy to deal with," Isabella said softly. "I see you're a solo player without a guild. Without the protection of a big guild, it's easy to be targeted by Martial Alliance. Why not join our Devouring Serpents?"
"Yeah, Eric, with the strength of Devouring Serpents, even top guilds wouldn't dare provoke us in Silvervale City. Plus, our guild benefits are excellent," Judy added.
"Thank you for your concern, Ms. Collins, but I'm used to my freedom and don't plan to join a guild right now," Eric politely declined.
Devouring Serpents was good, but it had its issues, just like Isabella, who left Devouring Serpents despite being the first Vice President, and like how he was easily dismissed by ShadowForge Studios in the end. It's best to keep control in his own hands.
"If that's how you feel, I won't insist. If you ever change your mind, Devouring Serpents will always welcome you," Isabella naturally understood Eric's thoughts. Everyone has their own ambitions, and she couldn't force him. Maintaining a good relationship was enough for now.
Eric then led Tonny and the others out of Shadowmoon Graveyard. He planned to return to town to regroup before taking everyone to level up. He finally had time to do so after completing many tasks, and it was a good opportunity to quickly get everyone to level 10.
Scarlet watched Eric's departing figure, feeling a strange sense of familiarity and an inexplicable sense of loss.
"Isabella, why didn't you try harder and tell him about the Godslayer Corps? Maybe he would have joined," Scarlet asked.
Isabella smiled and said, "Weren't you against him joining us? Now, why do you wish him to join us?"
Scarlet's face reddened slightly, and she spoke with conviction. "I'm doing this for your sake. He is a top-notch expert, and if we recruit him into Devouring Serpents, he will be on our side. If he performs well in the Godslayer Corps, it will bring us greater influence."
"If he wasn't so outstanding, I would definitely try harder to bring him in. But he's too exceptional, like a true dragon. Now, he's just a hidden dragon, but one day, he'll soar to great heights. We can't keep him, and he might even become a formidable opponent for Devouring Serpents in the future," Isabella said with a light laugh.
"An opponent?" Scarlet fell into deep thought.
