Chapter 94 Heart of the Titan

Although Eric was shocked, his feet didn't stop moving. He transformed into a blur and swiftly made his way towards the Heart of the Titan, positioned at the center. Then he used Insightful Gaze on Shadowweaver Darkcaster.

"Unknown?" Eric was startled.

The display exhibited nothing but question marks, with the exception of Shadowweaver Darkcaster..There were only two possible reasons for this: either the target had equipped high-level camouflage items, or their strength was so overwhelming that ordinary observation skills couldn't read them.

Clearly, it was the latter.

In Eric's recollection, Shadowweaver Darkcaster was a group of exceedingly enigmatic beings, perpetually clad in clown attire adorned with countless tiny bells. They were neither human nor creature, each one extremely powerful, able to appear anywhere at will, coming and going without a trace. Even the palace of Eldoria Capital was easily accessible to them.

But that was just the tip of the iceberg. Eric had once seen a Tier-3 Grand Druid NPC die at the hands of a Shadowweaver Darkcaster. Their attack methods were simply unimaginable and impossible to guard against.

"Damn human, how dare you intrude here." Shadowweaver Darkcaster's face was wrapped in black cloth, revealing a pair of eyes glowing with red light. Although its expression couldn't be seen, its tone was unusually agitated.

Rivulets of cyan energy were being absorbed by Shadowweaver Darkcaster, signifying a pivotal moment wherein it was unable to launch an attack.

This gave Eric an opportunity. If he could disrupt this absorption ritual, he could severely injure Shadowweaver Darkcaster. Otherwise, once this critical period passed,

Shadowweaver Darkcaster could easily kill him with a wave of its hand, just as it could a Tier-3 Grand Druid.

"Cyba, finish him off." Shadowweaver Darkcaster urged.

Eric smiled slightly. Seeing Shadowweaver Darkcaster's anxious expression, he was even more determined to sabotage it. As for the Infernal Hound behind him, it was still bound by chains and wouldn't make it in time.

Slash!

Eric used all his strength, twisting his wrist to produce a cracking sound. The Abyssal Blade transformed into a streak of black, piercing towards the absorption magic array of the Heart of the Titan.

The usually unstoppable Demonic Weapon Abyssal Blade was blocked outside the magic array, creating a dazzling white spark without causing any damage to the absorption array."Pathetic human, do you think a mere Swordsman like you can break my magic array? Just give up and become Cyba's food. Perhaps I'll spare your soul. Otherwise, you'll suffer endless pain after you die," Shadowweaver Darkcaster threatened.

By this point, the Infernal Hound had already surged forward.

"Even a clown dares to boast. Do you think I have no way to deal with you?" Eric sneered, pulling out a dark gray magic scroll from his backpack.

"No!"

"You're insane! Do you know what you're doing?"

Shadowweaver Darkcaster suddenly screamed upon seeing the dark gray magic scroll. "Looks like you know your stuff. We can die together." Eric had no desire to employ this item either, but with his life hanging in the balance, he couldn't afford to be indifferent. He unfurled the magic scroll and began chanting the activation spell.

This was one of Eric's three Tier-2 magic scrolls, Torrent of Annihilation, capable of devouring all magical elements and turning them into nothingness. It was a top-tier Tier-2 magic scroll.

Immediately, the magical elements within the central barrier surged violently, becoming extremely chaotic. The magic array began to disintegrate.

The absorption magic array, composed of magical elements, naturally couldn't escape this fate and exploded.

The entire absorption magic array crackled like frying beans, erupting with dazzling shockwaves.

Eric activated Swordsoar Ascension, which could immunize him from six ranged attacks, and charged toward the Heart of the Titan.

However, acquiring the Heart of the Titan was no simple task. Either he had to deplete all its energy to break the protective barrier, or he needed a key to unlock it. Fortunately, Eric had the key. Amid the explosions, he unlocked the Heart of the Titan's protective barrier and pocketed it.

The shockwave from Torrent of Annihilation blasted the Infernal Hound against the wall, which cracked like a spider web. The hound collapsed heavily onto the ground, unable to maintain its stance. But the explosion's shockwave didn't harm Shadowweaver Darkcaster as if it had passed through its body. It appeared as though Shadowweaver Darkcaster did not exist within that realm. However, the backlash from the magic ritual had severely injured it. Shadowweaver Darkcaster glared at Eric, seemingly ready to attack.

"Come on, if you dare!" Eric sneered, pulling out a dark blue Tier-2 magic scroll. With the Heart of the Titan in hand, even if Eric died, the quest item wouldn't drop. Shadowweaver Darkcaster was already extremely weak, only slightly stronger than Eric. He still had two Tier-2 magic scrolls left. At worst, they could perish together.

He could respawn after death, but if Shadowweaver Darkcaster died, it would be for real. Let's see who flinches first!

"Despicable human, I'll let you go this time. We will meet again, and that will be your end," Shadowweaver Darkcaster said harshly, abandoning the idea of killing Eric. It vanished from the control room along with the Infernal Hound.

Eric waited quietly for a while, ensuring there was no movement around him before he breathed a sigh of relief. He didn't put away the Tier-2 magic scroll. If he had to use the Tier-2 magic scroll to perish together with Shadowweaver Darkcaster, he would be reluctant. But given Shadowweaver Darkcaster's intelligence, it would make the right choice.

With the Heart of the Titan in hand, Eric took out a town portal scroll and started reading. Thirty seconds later, Eric turned into a white blur and also disappeared from the control room.

Following Eric's disappearance, Shadowweaver Darkcaster resurfaced, its eyes radiating an even more intense glow. It clearly hadn't expected Eric to be so cautious, never putting away the Tier-2 magic scroll. Otherwise, it would have had a chance to kill Eric.

"Damn human, I spent over ten years researching to find a way to absorb the Heart of the Titan. When I recover, I'll make you wish you were dead," Shadowweaver Darkcaster roared, destroying the stone pedestal with dozens of flying knives, now unprotected by the barrier.

Meanwhile, Eric had already returned to Willowbrook Town.

Willowbrook Town was bustling with more players, with people everywhere selling Common Level equipment and basic skill books from levels 0 to 2.

Eric inspected his backpack. It had been quite a while since he had received any income in gold. So, he decided to sell some items before turning in his quest.

The previous design blueprints had sold out, so Eric put another twenty Glowing Outfit Design Blueprints in the auction house for batch sale.

At this moment, Isabella sent a communication request.

"Meet at the entrance of Shadowmoon Graveyard in three hours. Make sure your team is ready with essential potions. Our Devouring Serpents must secure the first kill in this raid. It's all up to you," Isabella's voice was cold and commanding, completely different from when they had met before.

"Alright, I'll be there in three hours." Eric didn't mind. That was the Ice Goddess's usual demeanor. He estimated the time and figured he could make it.

Neither of them said much more, and they ended the communication.

Eric then continued to buy deck cards and hard stones at the auction house, along with some materials for making Bronze Equipment and Dark Iron Equipment. Upon depositing the materials in the warehouse, he purchased a few magic scrolls and vital potions before making his way to the Ruins of the White Sands to complete his quest.
