Chapter 281 The Guild's Strongest Weapon
In a vast, cold, and quiet ancient tomb, dozens of people stood in formation, organizing themselves in front of the tomb.
Everyone here was above level 17, and all their equipment was at least Dark Iron Level, with many pieces of Mithril Equipment mixed in. The leading MT was almost entirely clad in Mithril Level gear, wielding a crescent-shaped shield made of Adamantite.
These people all looked with admiration at a peerless, ethereal figure before them. She wore a silver-white light armor, held a deep blue greatsword that shimmered with a greenish glow, and her crystal-clear golden eyes sparkled with wisdom. Her golden hair cascaded down to her waist, flowing in the wind, exuding an unparalleled aura, like a goddess of war.
This peerless war goddess was none other than Isabella, the Ice Goddess of Devouring Serpents.
After battles in three major dungeons, Isabella had become even more dazzling, like a raw gem polished into a cold, wise sapphire.
Now, she was not only clad in a full set of Mithril Level Snow White Ensemble but also wielded a greatsword of indeterminate quality that possessed terrifying power.
The Snow White Ensemble was obtained from the Adversity-level three major dungeons, but the Soulrend Greatsword was not. It was a weapon she stumbled upon in an underground temple of a ruined site after defeating a Wilderness Overlord's guardian.
If Eric saw this two-handed greatsword, he would be very surprised because it was also a Demonic Weapon, one of the thirty-six legendary swords in Divine Realms: Legends, the Soulrend Greatsword.
Just as they were preparing to tackle the fourth boss, the Bone General, in the Eternal Slumber Dungeon, Isabella heard the System's announcement, a hint of surprise flashing in her beautiful eyes.
"How did he get it so quickly?" Isabella knew how rare a guild residence was. Even though Devouring Serpents was the top guild in Silvervale City with many powerful allies, she was still far from becoming a baroness due to the lack of reputation. Yet, the Guild of Aether Wing had beaten her to it. Isabella's lips curled into a slight smile, "Looks like I need to congratulate him."
In Silvervale City, Devouring Serpents and Aether Wing were allies, although outsiders didn't know this. If they did, they would be shocked that the top guild in Silvervale City was allied with a newly declining guild like Aether Wing—it seemed impossible.
But Isabella did it anyway.
Although Devouring Serpents was the top guild in Silvervale City, it wasn't unshakable. The closely trailing Darkstar Guild was formidable, and Darkstar Guild had some connections with another top-tier guild, Supremacy Alliance.
If these two guilds teamed up against Devouring Serpents, Devouring Serpents would surely lose.
So allies were necessary. Among the six major guilds, there were three others, including the top-tier guild Imperial Radiance and the second-tier guild Assassin's Alliance. Yet, Isabella chose the newly established Aether Wing.
Because she saw potential in the Guild of Aether Wing.
Not to mention the elusive and incredibly powerful Kai Blackthorn.
Just Black Flame, Eldoria's chief Blacksmith with astonishing strength and hidden backing, and his close ties with StellarTrails Emporium were impressive enough.
Their financial power was so great that even Isabella felt inferior.
Isabella couldn't figure out the exact relationship between Kai Blackthorn and Black Flame, but both possessed unfathomable power, yet remained low-key, which puzzled her.
The mere combination of these two made Isabella feel fear.
Moreover, there was now an unexpected appearance of Rosewater, an honorary officer of Echoes of Dusk, whose reputation in the virtual gaming world was no less than Isabella's. Rosewater was even more famous publicly due to her numerous advertising endorsements.
Although Isabella had never faced Rosewater in battle, she had watched Rosewater's combat videos. In terms of fighting skills, Isabella considered herself on the same level as Rosewater.
Just having these three individuals in the Guild of Aether Wing was enough for Isabella to seek an alliance, not to mention the other numerous experts within the guild.
Outsiders believed that the Guild of Aether Wing was bound to decline sooner or later, but Isabella knew better.
The current silence was merely a prelude to the next explosion.
Just like now, they had quietly secured a guild residence, ahead of all other guilds in Eldoria, instantly becoming the focus of all players in Eldoria.
Shortly after the System announcement, the recruitment point for the Guild of Aether Wing was overwhelmed.
Although Rosewater had prepared in advance, the place was still swarming with people, frantically signing up. Those who had previously left the Guild of Aether Wing were now filled with regret.
They regretted their impulsiveness and not waiting a few more days. Now, the only way to rejoin the Guild of Aether Wing was to delete their characters and start over, but who had the courage to do that?
Those who had stayed in the Guild of Aether Wing were overjoyed and celebrating.
Not to mention the additional quests brought by the guild residence, just the savings on weapon and equipment repairs were significant. They also didn't need to spend money on inns to rest and recover; they could do it directly at the guild residence.
Additionally, there was the double experience reward. Resting at the guild residence allowed them to store double experience, making leveling up more efficient.
And let's not forget the private rooms provided by the guild residence.
This was the biggest perk of having a guild residence.
In Divine Realms: Legends, everyone wanted their own private room or house. Logging off in their own room allowed them to store double experience, even when not in the game, and it was more than what the guild's public rest area offered.
The public rest area of a guild residence typically allowed 48 hours of rest to store 20% double experience, up to one level of double experience. However, in a private room, 24 hours of rest could store 20% double experience, up to one level of double experience, making it twice as fast as the public rest area.
Of course, this was just for a standard one-star private room.
In Divine Realms: Legends, housing was also graded, with higher grades offering more benefits. The lowest was one star, and the highest was ten stars. Upgrading required a lot of money and special materials, making it difficult.
A one-star room offered 24 hours of rest to store 20% double experience, up to one level of double experience.
A two-star room offered 24 hours of rest to store 25% double experience, up to one level of double experience.
A seven-star room offered 24 hours of rest to store 50% double experience, up to one level of double experience, plus a mental boost state that increased all attributes by 5% for two hours.
An eight-star room offered 24 hours of rest to store 50% triple experience, up to one and a half levels of triple experience, plus a mental boost state that increased all attributes by 5% for three hours.
A nine-star room offered 24 hours of rest to store 50% triple experience, up to two levels of triple experience, plus a mental boost state that increased all attributes by 8% for three hours.
A ten-star room offered 24 hours of rest to store 50% triple experience, up to three levels of triple experience, plus a mental boost state that increased all attributes by 10% for four hours.
However, getting a house in Silvervale City was very difficult. Going to a small town was inconvenient, but the guild residence could provide private rooms for guild members. Not everyone could get one, though, as space was limited. They were usually given to members with outstanding contributions or high-ranking members. If there were any spare rooms, guild members could use contribution points to buy or rent them.
In Divine Realms: Legends, leveling up was always a headache for players, and it got slower as they progressed. Taking three to four days to level up was normal, and dying in the Wilderness meant losing a level, making speed-boosting items very popular.
This guild benefit alone was very enticing to all players, not to mention the numerous guild quests that could be freely chosen, significantly speeding up the leveling process.
