Chapter 318 Blood Hand Society
Eric's return immediately caught the attention of all parties in Silvervale City.
When they learned that Eric's name was red as blood, everyone knew that the Darkstar Guild's hunt had failed.
The Darkstar Guild had dispatched over ten thousand people, yet they still couldn't eliminate the main members of Aether Wing. This significantly boosted Aether Wing's reputation, especially since the Darkstar Guild's president, RogueVortex, was killed, dealing a heavy blow to the Darkstar Guild.
Excluding the already out-of-the-picture Supremacy Alliance, the Darkstar Guild's reputation had plummeted to the bottom among the six major guilds in Silvervale City. Many players who initially wanted to join the Darkstar Guild had now changed their minds and turned to Aether Wing.
With this shift, it was only a matter of time before Aether Wing surpassed the Darkstar Guild.
After finally shaking off the enthusiastic players, Eric immediately donned a black cloak to cover his face and name and headed to the Adventurers' Guild in Silvervale City.
On the way, Eric contacted Rosewater, asking her to bring over sixty core members to wait at the Adventurers' Guild.
Twenty minutes later, Rosewater arrived at the entrance of the Adventurers' Guild with over sixty people.
The sixty-plus people Rosewater brought were all equipped with Dark Iron Level gear or higher, with many even having Mithril Level gear. Standing at the entrance, they were exceptionally dazzling, drawing the admiring and envious gazes of many players.
Although the Darkstar Guild's ambush and the Supremacy Alliance's battle had caused significant losses to the Guild of Aether Wing, fortunately, Aether Wing had plenty of Bronze Level and Dark Iron Level gear. The only issue was that it would take some time to regain their levels.
The group Rosewater had been busy with dungeons and hadn't had the chance to participate in the guild war.
"Rosewater, what do you think the president wants us to do?" a female Priest named SnowGoose asked curiously.
"Isn't it obvious? We're going to deal with the Darkstar Guild. They dared to mess with us before, so now the president is gathering us to retaliate," a Berserker laughed.
"That's great! We couldn't join the fight before because we were too far away in the dungeon. Now I can finally teach those Darkstar Guild members a lesson," SnowGoose said with a playful punch.
Rosewater laughed, "SnowGoose, you're too eager to fight. The president didn't say what we're doing, but I think it's something else. If it were to fight the Darkstar Guild, just calling you guys wouldn't be enough. Don't guess blindly; we'll find out soon."
Hearing it was something else, SnowGoose's interest waned, and the others also seemed a bit disappointed.
As Rosewater and her group waited at the entrance, Eric approached.
"President, why are you still wearing a cloak? Is this action supposed to be secret? Should we leave first and sneak back later?" Rosewater asked, seeing Eric's concealed face, looking like a wanted criminal in Silvervale City, afraid of being recognized.
"I wouldn't need to, but being too famous isn't always good. If I take off the cloak, I might not even get through the Adventurers' Guild's door," Eric said with a wry smile. "Enough talk, invite me to the group; we have important business."
Hearing Eric's explanation, Rosewater could imagine the comical scene and couldn't help but smile slyly. The mighty president of Aether Wing wasn't afraid of armies but was wary of enthusiastic fans.
After inviting Eric to the group, Rosewater transferred the group leader position to him.
Eric, now the group leader, looked at everyone's levels and felt proud.
Everyone was at least level 19, with nearly half at level 20. This was unimaginable in other guilds, but it made sense since major guilds were competing for the first clear of the three major dungeons, not rushing to level up.
This approach was somewhat misguided. While getting the first clear of the three major dungeons was important, Divine Realms: Legends wasn't a small game. Focusing too much on early gains and losses could make one miss other opportunities.
For instance, advancing to the first-tier profession required level 20 dungeons. If not for FlameDancer and Tonny's excellent gear, they wouldn't have cleared the level 20 dungeon so easily.
Not to mention the fifty-man and hundred-man dungeons.
Advancing to the first-tier profession early was key to getting the first clear of the hundred-man dungeon.
Clearing the three major level 10 dungeons first increased fame, but clearing the level 20 hundred-man dungeon brought not just fame but great opportunities.
"Let's go to the second floor," Eric said in the group chat.
The second-floor hall of the Adventurers' Guild was usually empty.
It didn't serve individual guild players but was specifically for guild teams.
"Rosewater, what do you think the president wants to do here?" SnowGoose asked curiously.
"I don't know, but this place is for taking on large guild tasks. I wonder what big task the president wants to take on," Rosewater shook her head. She couldn't figure out their president, Eric, but that was why she joined Aether Wing.
Eric sat at the VIP counter, and the beautiful receptionist smiled, "Sir, how can I help you?"
"I want to take on a guild crusade mission," Eric said directly.
"Alright, but the Guild of Aether Wing is only a three-star guild, so there are only four places you can crusade. Which one would you like to choose?"
The receptionist listed four locations, all remote towns described as desolate and dangerous. Each was occupied by a dark force, requiring at least two to three thousand level 30 first-tier players to conquer.
Of course, for a crusade mission, the difficulty would be significantly reduced, but even so, it was still very challenging. With just a hundred level 20 players, it was practically a suicide mission.
"Stream Town," Eric chose without hesitation, familiar with Silvervale City's crusade missions. He picked Stream Town, occupied by the Blood Hand Society.
The Blood Hand Society was a very small dark force in Silvervale City, at the bottom of the hierarchy. Choosing any of the other three locations, controlled by mid-tier dark forces, would be suicidal with no chance of success.
"Alright, a one-star crusade mission requires a deposit of 30 gold coins. If the mission isn't completed within five days, the deposit is non-refundable."
SnowGoose's mouth dropped open upon hearing the 30 gold coin deposit.
"What kind of mission requires 30 gold coins? I couldn't come up with that much money even if I sold myself," SnowGoose exclaimed.
Her words surprised everyone.
Eric smiled faintly and paid the 30 gold coins without hesitation, then said in the group chat, "This is a guild crusade mission. Without becoming a noble in Silvervale City, you can't even take it. 30 gold coins are very cheap."
Cheap?
Everyone was stunned. 30 gold coins were almost the entire liquid assets of a third-rate guild. If the mission failed, those 30 gold coins would be gone.
