Chapter 265 Shadowknight Gaia

"Jackpot!"

"We're so lucky."

"I wonder what we'll get?"

"This is the Infernal-level Demonic Citadel. With our luck, we should at least get an Obsidian Level item."

Fred Justin's death brought a sigh of relief to everyone. But seeing the pile of loot, they knew their luck had turned. Just seeing more than ten items on the ground was proof of a rare stroke of good fortune.

"Alright, calm down and recover a bit," Eric said with a smile, seeing everyone's excitement. Only he knew that this jackpot was not a coincidence but a certainty.

The others weren't very familiar with the Demonic Citadel, even Rosewater. They all thought the Demonic Citadel was just a moderately difficult 20-man raid.

Little did they know, the Demonic Citadel was the top-tier 20-man raid for level 15. Countless guilds had been wiped out trying to conquer it. From Eric's understanding, every top-tier Infernal-level raid would drop a jackpot on the first clear as a reward from the System for conquering the hardest raid.

While Eric was tallying the loot, a group of players had just resurrected outside the Demonic Citadel's entrance.

"GrayWolfSkyborne, that Fred Justin's defense and attack are way too high. Compared to the level 10 raids, the difficulty has increased a lot. This is just a Common Level, and even you, our strong MT, couldn't withstand three hits. This raid is impossible," a healer Druid said.

"It looks like this boss will need two MTs to take turns tanking the damage. The three adds that spawn will have to be kited by the Ranger," GrayWolfSkyborne said, having realized Fred Justin's terror after one battle. Each attack targeted his blind spots, making it impossible to dodge and forcing him to take the hits.

If it were just normal attacks, the healers could keep up. But Fred Justin's small skill, Thunderous Sweep, was a nightmare, dealing at least a thousand damage within a 24-foot radius almost instantly. Combined with Cleaving Strike, it could take out 2000 health in a flash. Even with four healers, they could barely keep up, and soon after, three adds would be summoned.

The healers were spread thin, and GrayWolfSkyborne was taken down.

Wipe!

As GrayWolfSkyborne's team prepared to re-enter the Demonic Citadel, Eric had already started distributing the loot.

This jackpot yielded eleven pieces of gear, along with several Magic Spirit Crystals and rare materials.

The lowest drops were three pieces of Mithril Equipment: Ranger's leggings, Druid's helm, and Summoner's shoulder pads.

Since it was a guild raid and a first clear, there was no contribution-based auction. Eric distributed the gear to enhance the team's strength, giving it directly to the designated members.

The most abundant were the Adamantite weapons and gear, totaling six pieces. The attributes were top-notch, as expected from the Demonic Citadel.

A level 15 Adamantite beheading axe and a level 15 Adamantite short sword were given to Ezio and Cola, respectively. Their Mithril Weapons were then passed down to other teammates. The remaining four pieces were gear: Swordsman's boots, Sorcerer's gloves, Oracle's chestplate, and Elementalist's chestplate.

Eric didn't hesitate to take the Swordsman's boots for himself, replacing his level 10 Dark Iron Level boots.

Boots of Triumph, boots, plate armor, Adamantite, level 15, class requirement: Swordsman, Defense +184, Strength +17, Agility +20, Stamina +12, Movement Speed +5%, with passive skill Graceful Momentum, increasing movement speed by 5%.

Eric then gave the Adamantite gloves to Tonny, the Oracle's chestplate to Greedy Gnawer, and the Elementalist's chestplate to Rosewater.

The last two items were Obsidian Level: a pitch-black longsword and a dark gray staff emitting black mist.

Sword of Daemonbane, One-Handed Sword, Obsidian Level, required level 15, strength requirement 130 points.

Attack +183.

Strength +20, Agility +21, Stamina +10, Attack Speed +3, Durability 100/100.

Passive skill Daemon Slayer's Strike: Increases damage dealt to dark-type monsters by 20%.

In terms of attributes, it's fairly standard, but the skill is a godsend for clearing the Demonic Citadel, making it a perfect replacement for the level 10 Obsidian Weapon Silverlake Gleam.

Although Silverlake Gleam was a personal weapon that Eric painstakingly crafted, ranking among the top weapons below level 15, weapon and gear upgrades every 5 levels bring significant improvements. Silverlake Gleam's attributes and attack power are clearly inferior to the level 15 Sword of Daemonbane. For the sake of future battles, Eric needed to switch to the Sword of Daemonbane.

The other staff were also exceptional.

Staff of Enigma Mist, Two-Handed Staff, Obsidian Level, required level 15, strength requirement 40 points, intelligence requirement 60 points, class requirement: Elementalist.

Attack +154.

Intelligence +42, Spirit +28, Stamina +33, Casting Speed +6, Durability 100/100.

Increases elemental magic damage by 10%, 18% critical hit rate with elemental magic, ignores level +3, casting range +2, elemental magic skill level +1.

"This staff's attributes are insane, it's tailor-made for an Elementalist," Tonny couldn't help but exclaim, even though he already wielded an Epic Level staff.

The two Elementalists in the team were wide-eyed with excitement.

"Let's give this staff to Rosewater," Eric said without hesitation, handing it to Rosewater. Although SilentLoneGoose, one of the newly joined Five Demon Generals, was also an Elementalist, Rosewater was the Vice President of the guild.

It wouldn't make sense for a Vice President to wield a Mithril Level staff. For the future development of the guild, the staff had to go to Rosewater. Besides, Rosewater's skills and strength far surpassed SilentLoneGoose's, making the best use of the equipment was most important.

"For me?" Rosewater was indeed fond of the Staff of Enigma Mist, but she was surprised to receive such a powerful staff so soon after joining the guild.

"Take it. You're our guild's Vice President. We can't let other guilds look down on Aether Wing," Eric said with a smile.

"Yeah, Vice President, our guild is now one of the top six in Silvervale City. If other guilds find out our Vice President is using a Mithril Level staff, they'll laugh at us," Tonny added.

"Alright, I'll accept it."

Hearing their words, Rosewater agreed. As a core member of the guild, her actions represented the guild's image. If people saw her using a Mithril Weapon, they might not say anything, but they would definitely look down on the Guild of Aether Wing, thinking it was all show and no substance.

With this top-tier staff in hand, Rosewater suddenly felt a greater sense of responsibility.

After everyone had rested, they continued their advance towards the castle's center.

Perhaps due to Fred Justin's jackpot, the team's strength had significantly increased. Elite monsters and special elites were easily cleared, and the team soon reached the central hall of the Demonic Citadel, where the final boss, Shadowknight Gaia, sat on the throne.

However, as soon as they stepped into the hall, the atmosphere changed, and even the air felt heavier.

Everyone in the team gasped.

"This can't be serious," Tonny said, his mouth agape as he stared at the distant throne in shock.

"What's going on? Why are there two more bosses beside Shadowknight Gaia?" Eric was astonished to see two beautiful women with jet-black wings standing next to the throne, their presence just as intimidating as Shadowknight Gaia's.
