Chapter 50 The Fiery Guardian Plate

In Willowbrook Town, the sky was covered with gray clouds, and a bright full moon hung high in the sky. The magical streetlights illuminated Willowbrook Town brightly.

Eric had just logged in.

Divine Realms: Legends was still in the evening, and most players were in the trade area, making it very crowded. Only a few experts ventured into the Wilderness to level up and kill monsters.

On the wide cobblestone road, players setting up stalls could be seen everywhere. White cloth was spread out, displaying materials required by auxiliary professions and some Common Level equipment. Sellers and buyers haggled, arguing fiercely over a couple of copper coins. The usually deserted streets during the day had turned into a bustling marketplace.

After deducting the service fee, five silver and 98 copper have been deposited into your backpack space.] Eric hadn't taken more than two steps when he heard a series of auction house notifications from the System. He casually brought up the System messages and was instantly shocked.

The value of the Guardian Plate far exceeded Eric's expectations. He initially thought five silver would be enough, but the bidding went higher and higher, with the highest selling for six silver and 42 copper. Eleven pieces of Guardian Plate were sold for a total of 67 silver, instantly turning Eric into a wealthy player.

At this stage, the purchasing power of one silver was astonishing. The total liquid assets of a second-tier guild were only about sixty or seventy silver coins. To ensure the proper growth of ordinary members in the early stages, they were unable to accumulate too many copper coins, or it would affect future development. Only the liquid assets of a first-tier guild could reach over one gold, but these funds had to be used for dozens to hundreds of people, making it seem very little.

Now, Eric was essentially a wealthy tycoon.

By this time, most players who had been fighting outside during the day had returned to the town, carrying a lot of materials. Eric naturally wouldn't miss this opportunity. He found a less crowded spot, spread out a white cloth, and started setting up a stall to collect materials.

The highest-level players should be at level 4 now, while ordinary players were still at level 2, and advanced players might have reached level 3. Therefore, the materials being sold were varied, some advanced and some common.

The prices of advanced materials were too high for Eric to collect. Due to his limited skill in forging equipment, his potential earnings were restricted.. Selling these pieces of equipment was just to accumulate some capital; with capital, he could make big money.

"Buying a stack of Magic Essence for six copper, a stack of Stone Materials for ten copper, and also buying sturdy stones, a stack for 23 copper," Eric shouted.

Players on the street gathered around.

"Boss, I have ten stacks of Stone Materials. How many do you want?"

"I have six stacks of Magic Essence. Do you want them all?"

"I have a stack of sturdy stones."

After a day of fighting monsters, Magic Essence and Stone Materials were common materials. Most players either sold them to NPCs or kept them for practicing support professions. However, sturdy stones were relatively rare, usually dropped by Kobolds or tiny stone monsters in the level 3 area.

A stack of sturdy stones contained 20 pieces and was worth 20 pieces of copper when sold to NPCs. Sturdy stones were used in forging, and using them at this stage was somewhat extravagant. Generally, guilds rarely collected them, so their value wasn't high. However, they would become instrumental after level 7, as many special monsters would appear in the level 7 monster zone. Fighting these monsters consumed a lot of weapon durability.

Weapons without durability could break, and the chance of repairing them was only about 20%. If they couldn't be repaired, they were scrapped.

Sturdy stones could be used to make whetstones, which not only added extra damage but also repaired weapon durability by 5 to 10 points. This allowed many players farming monsters to avoid having to return to town specifically to repair their weapons, saving a lot of time and increasing farming efficiency.

In previous times, sturdy stones sold like hotcakes, and whetstones rapidly appreciated in value, allowing many forging players to make a fortune. ShadowForge Guild wasn't ripped off by those profiteers, either. To level up quickly and gain an advantage, they had to grit their teeth and buy them.

In this life, it was Eric's turn to make a fortune. He planned to stockpile these sturdy stones in advance.

After collecting materials for over an hour, Eric had gathered more than eighty stacks of Magic Essence and over a hundred and twenty stacks of Stone Materials. However, sturdy stones were too scarce, and he only collected twelve stacks.

Noticing that his backpack was nearly full, Eric decided to pay a visit to the bank warehouse in order to store these items.

The bank warehouse initially had 500 slots of space. Opening the first 500 slots cost 20 copper, the second 1000 slots cost 50 copper, and each additional 1000 slots cost one silver, with an additional weekly management fee of 10 copper for every 1000 slots.

This amount of money was nothing to Eric now. He directly opened up to 3000 slots, which would cost him a weekly management fee of 30 copper.

After storing all the materials, Eric headed to the auction house.

The auction house connected all the towns in Silvervale City. Ordinary materials might not have many sellers, but sturdy stones should be available, although the price might be a bit high.

However, compared to players reaching level 7 and gritting their teeth to buy whetstones for their weapons, the current price of sturdy stones was nothing.

Upon Eric's arrival at the auction house, he noticed something peculiar. There were many guild logistics personnel in the auction house, each guarding the place, seemingly waiting for something.

Eric found a random spot to sit down and brought up the auction house interface.

While Eric was searching for sturdy stones, he overheard the guild logistics personnel complaining to each other.

"How much longer do we have to wait? When will the Guardian Plate appear so I can finish my task?"

"You've only been here for 3 hours. I've been waiting for over ten hours. You should have seen how fierce the competition was for the Guardian Plate. I heard that many guilds killed a lot of particular elites in the Wilderness because of the Guardian Plate and gained a lot.

Some guilds even acquired a lot of equipment and skill books in the Silent Grove Dungeon because of the Guardian Plate, so now everyone is scrambling for it.

Unfortunately, the remaining Guardian Plates were snatched up quickly."

"Exactly. Our guild regrets it so much now. If we had known, we would have spent seven silver coins to get one. Now, we're lagging behind those guilds. The higher-ups have issued a strict order: if the Guardian Plate appears, we must get it."

As the guild logistics personnel were conversing, Eric hadn't anticipated the Guardian Plate to yield results so swiftly..

So, Eric took out the remaining seven Guardian Plates with defensive power and quietly put them up for auction, each with a starting price of 8 silver coins, two silver coins higher than his previous estimate. However, these guilds should accept this. As for the best Guardian Heavy Armor, Eric decided to sell it later, letting these guilds digest the current ones first.

After putting up the equipment, Eric began searching for sturdy stones, wondering if there were many sellers at the auction house now.
