Chapter 59 Violet Mistflow
While Eric found selling equipment to be effortless, it was a different story for Hammer Trader.
In order to compete with Eric, he kept crafting new Barbarian Chestplates, spending silver coins like they were copper coins. Hammer Trader even had to use credit points to purchase materials, which pained him deeply. However, knowing that Eric was spending even more made him feel slightly better. He was determined to make Eric suffer financially.
Meanwhile, Eric left the increasingly bustling auction house.
He went to the bank's warehouse, where he stored the collected card sets and hard stones. Seeing the warehouse filled with over a thousand slots, Eric couldn't help but feel excited.
This was the advantage of being reborn. In his previous life, he hadn't known the value of these items and had suffered because of it. Now, these materials had become one of Eric's main sources of income.
Although these items might not hold much value at present, they had the potential to appreciate significantly in the future, sometimes multiplying in worth by tenfold or even more. This was especially true for card sets, as a complete set could be several times more expensive than individual cards. As a result, it became quite challenging for major guilds to successfully acquire them.
After storing the items, Eric went to a general store and bought five stacks of white paper and a stack of ink. In the general store, white paper and ink were very cheap. A stack of 200 sheets cost only ten copper coins, a stack of 20 bottles of black ink cost only 15 copper coins, and the best quill pen cost only 20 copper coins.
He casually bought some items, and his expenditure in the general store was much higher than the daily income of an average player.
An average player couldn't afford this, but for Eric, these copper coins were negligible. Besides, these items were essential for making forging blueprints. Even if a stack cost ten silver coins, he would still buy them.
Having purchased the items, Eric made his way towards the Forging Association.
"Sir, would you like a cool drink? I have the best iced fruit juice in Willowbrook Town. It tastes amazing and costs only one copper coin per cup," A frail girl with a small basket, her big, lively eyes filled with hope, asked a male knight nervously.
"Get lost, don't bother me. It's just virtual stuff, and you're charging a copper coin for a cup of cool drink? I wouldn't take it even if it were free," The male knight cursed angrily, pushing the sixteen or seventeen-year-old girl aside and adding. "You're bad luck. If you make me miss out on buying the Glowing Chestplate, I'll make you pay."
The girl, who had been pushed to the ground, didn't cry. She stood up firmly, dusted off her clothes, and approached another player with a smile.
Eric was slightly stunned, not expecting the girl to be so strong-willed. Female players rarely did such tough jobs, let alone endure insults from other players.
Upon seeing this young girl, he was reminded of his past self.
So he cast an Insightful Gaze on the girl.
Violet Mistflow, Level 1 Priest.
Eric saw the name, and his heart skipped a beat. This girl was actually Violet Mistflow, one of the top ten divine priests. If he could recruit her, his future team would be significantly stronger.
"This is a virtual game, and you're selling cool drinks to make money? Do you think you're pretty? Only fools would buy from you. You look decent, so why don't you come to my place tonight? I'll give you a silver coin," a lecherous man in his thirties approached Violet Mistflow, drooling as he taunted her.
"Sir, I only sell cool drinks. Please show some respect," Violet Mistflow stepped back, refusing firmly.
"I'm giving you a chance, and you're acting up? You're just a lowly life player. If you don't agree today, don't expect to do business here anymore," the lecherous man blocked Violet Mistflow's path, staring at her fair neck and licking his lips menacingly.
"How can you be like this? You're shameless!" Violet Mistflow's eyes were filled with anger, but she couldn't fight back. If this continued, she would lose her last hope.
"So what if I'm shameless? What can you do about it?" The lecherous man felt even more pleased seeing Violet Mistflow's anxious expression.
Eric observed Violet Mistflow as she struggled to hold back her tears, which only made her even more captivating in his eyes.
"Excuse me, sir, I'd like to buy a thousand cups of iced fruit juice," Eric cast an Insightful Gaze on the lecherous man, revealing his name as Simon Hemdrift, Level 3. This level was quite decent at this stage.
Simon Hemdrift turned to the frail Eric, glaring, "Hey, she is mine. If you don't want trouble, get lost. Do you think you can just order a thousand cups? Do you think you're rich enough to pull out ten silver coins just like that? If you keep messing around, I'll make sure you drop back to level zero."
If it weren't for the rule against fighting in town, Simon Hemdrift would have already taken Eric out.
"There's a show to watch in broad daylight. Go for it, and don't hold back. If you can fight, don't just argue!" "A rich guy? Throwing out ten silver coins just like that. It's too bad he messed with Simon Hemdrift from Martial Alliance. This will be interesting." "I think he's just putting on a show. If he really pulls out ten silver coins, I'll apologize live." Many onlookers stopped to watch, discussing Eric's actions.
Eric ignored Simon Hemdrift, grabbed his shoulder, and applied a bit of force.
Before Simon Hemdrift could react, he was on his knees. No matter how hard he tried, even turning red in the face, he couldn't stand up.
The crowd was stunned.
This action was incredibly audacious, as it directly impacted Willowbrook Town.Wasn't Eric afraid of being caught by the guards?
And where did this player get such strength? He subdued a Level 3 Guardian Knight with one hand. How did he do it?
"You're dead. Just wait for the guards to come after you," Simon Hemdrift turned to Eric, sneering.
But after waiting for a while, no guards showed up.
Eric paid no attention to Simon Hemdrift. He held him down firmly, looked at Violet Mistflow, and took out ten silver coins, saying, "Thank you, a thousand cups of iced fruit juice."
The onlookers fell into silence, their eyes widening in disbelief.
These were ten silver coins, not ten copper coins. They felt rich just having one silver coin, and Eric casually took out ten. How wealthy was this Eric?
Violet Mistflow rubbed her eyes, staring at the ten shiny silver coins in Eric's hand, completely taken aback. She had thought Eric was just trying to help her, but he really took out ten silver coins to buy a thousand cups of her unsold cool drinks.
Simon Hemdrift was also stunned, but his shock quickly turned to greed. He contemplated the idea of snatching the ten silver coins to purchase a Glowing Chestplate and still have plenty left over.
"H, I'm with Martial Alliance. If you don't want to be killed back to level zero, give me twenty silver coins, and I might let you go. Otherwise, face the consequences," Simon Hemdrift stared at the ten silver coins, threatening coldly.
Eric ignored Simon Hemdrift. Seeing that Violet Mistflow hadn't responded, he asked, "Do you not have that many cool drinks?"
"I only have 156 cups of iced fruit juice. How about I give you all of them for one silver coin?" Violet Mistflow worried that Eric might get angry and not buy them, so she offered a discount to thank him.
"Alright. How long will it take you to make 900 more cups? I'll take them all," Eric thought for a moment and asked.
The onlookers were dumbfounded. What was this guy doing? Did he even know the value of ten silver coins? Was he really trying to woo the girl?
"I make iced fruit juice slowly. If you're willing to wait, it will take 30 hours," Violet Mistflow was overjoyed but worried about her slow speed. She quickly added, "Or I can give you 900 cups for just five silver coins."
