Chapter 365 On the List
                    Eric's demands were undeniably tough.
Matt furrowed his brow as he listened, his face growing serious, unsure of what to do next.
If Eric had just asked for a small share of Polaris Reach Fitness Center, Matt could've made the call himself, and even the chairman would've been happy. But asking to join the board? That was a whole different ball game.
This was way above Matt's pay grade.
The board had total control over Polaris Reach Fitness Center, the ultimate power hub, and they couldn't just let an outsider waltz in.
Plus, Eric wanted his own dedicated training area under his complete control, basically carving out a chunk of Polaris Reach Fitness Center, which was even more unacceptable.
If Eric were a famous martial arts master, maybe they could've considered it, but he was a nobody, making it almost impossible to agree to.
Katherine, standing nearby, was stunned, constantly sizing up Eric.
"Is this really the Eric from our class?" This question kept echoing in Katherine's mind.
Eric's demands were pure greed, even more than hers.
The head coach position was mostly honorary, requiring little actual work, making it a very relaxed role but with high status. Many people fought for it, including well-known athletes from Evergreen City, but they weren't even considered by Polaris Reach. Yet Eric made such demands, leaving Katherine baffled.
To Katherine, Eric's actions seemed excessive, but for some reason, she felt there was a rationale behind them, as Eric wasn't one to make unreasonable demands.
Indeed, Eric's demands were reasonable, or rather, they were already low. If it weren't for Katherine, he might have asked for more than just a board membership and a training area under his control.
Although the Guild of Aether Wing was currently powerful only in Silvervale City, after the Silvervale City battle, it had gained fame throughout Eldoria. The guild had already laid a solid foundation and secured its entry ticket to dominate Eldoria.
The significance of this was perhaps only understood by the top-tier guild leaders.
Eldoria had millions of players, and this number was constantly increasing. Evergreen City had only a few hundred people, comparable to Silvervale City, but the control Aether Wing had in Silvervale City versus Polaris Reach's control in Evergreen City was like night and day.
With the popularity of Divine Realms: Legends and the strength of the Guild of Aether Wing, the number of people they could influence would be terrifying, easily bringing unimaginable wealth to a training center or fitness center.
And what was a training center or fitness center?
Just a place to exercise, with no real influence.
A single word from a top-tier guild could make a fitness center rise instantly. Why share the benefits with others?
"What does Manager Elliott think?" Eric asked Matt.
"Mr. Parker, your conditions are pretty steep. How about 5% of Polaris Reach shares instead?" Matt could tell Eric wasn't clueless and likely understood the value of a Hidden Power Strike expert, so he offered the best deal he could.
"Polaris Reach Fitness Center is big, and 5% shares are nice, but I insist on my original conditions. This is my bottom line. If you can't agree, it's a pity." Eric shook his head.
"Mr. Parker, your conditions are way above my pay grade. How about I take some time to run this up the chain? Once the higher-ups discuss it, I'll get back to you." Matt was taken aback by Eric's calm demeanor. He had thought offering the head coach position and 5% shares would thrill a young newcomer, but the result was far beyond his expectations.
He couldn't believe Eric was just a college student. Polaris Reach's 5% shares were a fortune, enough to live comfortably for a lifetime, yet Eric still made such demands. He was either crazy or extremely confident.
"Sure, take your time. I'm not in a rush. I'll wait for your response." Eric smiled. He hadn't expected to finalize the training arrangements for Aether Wing members quickly. He had many things to do in Divine Realms: Legends, and his studio had just started operating, needing time to settle.
Today was just a discussion.
Thanks to Katherine, he had saved a lot of time in contacting Polaris Reach's top management, exceeding his expectations.
Afterward, Matt asked Eric about martial arts, while Katherine showed little interest. However, seeing Matt, like a junior, seeking advice from Eric amused her. If she told her father, he would be surprised.
After two or three hours of conversation, Matt grew increasingly impressed with Eric. If it weren't late and Eric needed to leave, Matt would have chatted for days.
As Eric left Polaris Reach Fitness Center, Katherine drove him back to his rented apartment.
Matt immediately contacted Polaris Reach's chairman, his brother Larry Elliott, to discuss Eric's conditions in detail.
As the sun set, a bright red luxury sports car parked in front of the apartment building where Eric lived.
"Eric, keep these three bottles of Grade S Nutrition Serum safe. S-grade nutrition serums must be stored below 32°F, or their effectiveness will diminish, becoming useless in two or three days. Also, you can only drink Grade S Nutrition Serum once every five days; drinking too much is harmful. Remember this." Katherine carefully handed Eric a metal case containing the serums, repeatedly reminding him, worried he might waste or misuse them.
A million credits were nothing, but Grade S Nutrition Serum wasn't something money could easily buy. Polaris Reach had some channels to acquire a few bottles.
"Got it." Eric smiled wryly. It wasn't his first time using Grade S Nutrition Serum, but Katherine didn't know that.
"I'm leaving now. Don't forget my birthday party next month. I know where you live now, so if you don't come, I won't let you off easily." Katherine waved her fist playfully before driving away in her red hover sports car.
Eric realized Katherine had driven him back for this reason. Though he often arrived late, he wasn't that unreliable...
As Eric turned to enter the apartment building, he noticed someone squatting at the entrance, grinning mischievously at him.
It was Tonny.
"Eric, you're amazing. In just a few days, you've hooked up with Katherine. How did I not see this before? You have to teach me, or I'll tell FlameDancer about this." Tonny looked at Eric, smiling meaningfully.
"Don't think I don't know. You've been hitting on the guild's girls. What's up?" Eric glared at Tonny. Though Tonny had toned down after joining Aether Wing Studios, he was getting closer to a female Sorcerer in the guild.
"Alright, I admit, I have big news to report. Don't get too excited." Tonny cleared his throat, then announced happily, "An hour ago, Heavenly Secret Pavilion released a new expert ranking, and your ID is on it. It's causing a stir in all of Eldoria."
