Chapter 414 Beast War

The members of Aether Wing couldn't help but laugh when they heard what the freelance players coming out of White Mist Canyon had to say.

Freelance players are just that—freelance. Even a six-person team can get wiped out by two or three elite monsters. It's really not surprising how weak they are.

"The president is being overly cautious. Our strength is far superior to that of a freelance team. If we let Smile Over Ruins get ahead, they'll snatch the Grand Lord from us."

"That can't happen, right? It's the Grand Lord we're talking about."

"Smile Over Ruins sent over six thousand elite players. Taking down a Grand Lord would be a walk in the park for them."

"True, even if the Grand Lord is strong, six thousand players can wear it down."

"I really don't understand what the president is thinking. We're all here, but we're just waiting around. By now, the elite monsters inside must have been mostly killed by other guilds. What are we even doing here?"

As some members of Aether Wing started to question Eric's decisions, another team of several hundred players emerged from White Mist Canyon.

These players were well-equipped, all wearing the same guild insignia, clearly part of a guild team.

"What's up with these guys?"

The members of Aether Wing were puzzled by the disheveled appearance of the guild team.

Then another large group of players came out of White Mist Canyon, also a guild team, but with even more players than the previous one. Unlike the previous team, this group was sprinting frantically.

The members of Aether Wing waiting at the entrance of White Mist Canyon were completely confused.

What on earth is going on?

"Wait, there's something behind them!" said a 22-level Ranger with Eagle Eye skill from Aether Wing.

Everyone from Aether Wing looked over.

They were all stunned.

It was too far to see clearly before, but now that they were closer, they could see it.

Thousands of Red-Eyed Battle Monkeys were chasing them, moving at incredible speed, their eyes blood-red, filled with murderous intent, screeching loudly. The sight of thousands of Red-Eyed Battle Monkeys charging at the players was like a tsunami, overwhelming and terrifying.

Red-Eyed Battle Monkey, elite level, level 22, health points 16,000.

Although the Red-Eyed Battle Monkey's health points weren't high, its limbs were extremely strong, and its body was much taller than the players. Not only was it agile and powerful, but its naturally long arms, combined with the weapons it wielded, made it a formidable opponent in battle.

Among the thousands of Red-Eyed Battle Monkeys were some larger ones wearing armor, the Armored Battle Monkeys. These Armored Battle Monkeys were covered in scars, proof of their battle experience. Compared to the elite Red-Eyed Battle Monkeys, the Armored Battle Monkeys were even stronger, not just because they were special elites, but also because their combat skills far surpassed those of ordinary players.

Armored Battle Monkey, special elite, level 24, health points 54,000.

Among the nearly thousand players fleeing, any player caught by the Battle Monkeys was quickly surrounded and hacked to death by three to five monkeys. The Red-Eyed Battle Monkeys didn't all attack at once; their combat was highly organized and intelligent.

This led to more and more player deaths.

"Help me, please help!"

"I don't want to die!"

Many players caught by the Red-Eyed Battle Monkeys screamed for help. As for fighting back...

Most players had already forgotten how, as they had never experienced such a terrifying scene in Divine Realms: Legends. They were scared stiff, and those who could still run had strong mental fortitude. The weaker-minded players had already died inside.

Although some players fought while running, the sheer number of Red-Eyed Battle Monkeys made their efforts futile.

In no time, the nearly thousand players were reduced to just over a hundred.

Ultimately, fewer than five hundred players managed to escape White Mist Canyon, and even the previous guild team lost over a hundred members.

Seeing this outcome left the waiting members of Aether Wing in shock.

The Red-Eyed Battle Monkeys were terrifying!

"Are these really wild monsters?"

Everyone had this question in their minds. These monsters were nothing like the ones they had encountered before. The Red-Eyed Battle Monkeys' combat felt more like a war than a monster hunt.

At this point, even the members who had doubts about Eric's decisions were silent, feeling immense respect for him. If they hadn't witnessed this scene and had blindly entered White Mist Canyon, their fate wouldn't have been much better than those players.

As for the other members, they looked at Eric with even more admiration.

While Aether Wing waited, more guild teams emerged from White Mist Canyon. As for freelance player teams, they were few and far between, most having perished inside.

White Mist Canyon was less a leveling paradise and more a massive meat grinder.

"Alright, let's head in," Eric said after organizing the map. "You've seen the guild teams coming out. Many had more members than us, but you saw the results—only half made it out. The danger is clear. I hope you all follow orders and don't act on your own. If anyone disobeys, I won't wait for the Battle Monkeys to deal with you; I'll handle it myself!"

Hearing Eric's words, everyone shivered and became even more tense.

"Since there are no questions, form your groups and positions as discussed," Eric said, nodding. "Let's go."

After the meteor shower, White Mist Canyon was no longer a regular leveling area but more like a large-scale outdoor dungeon. Getting the Starfire Ore inside wouldn't be easy. Entering was more like going to war, with dangers everywhere. The Battle Monkeys were always ready to ambush, so constant vigilance was necessary.

Eric's formation had MT classes spread around the perimeter, healers and ranged classes in the center, and all Assassins scouting ahead, reporting any movements to prevent ambushes.

Under Eric's leadership, the Aether Wing team quickly reached the inner area of White Mist Canyon.

During this time, they fought many battles, killing over a thousand Battle Monkeys, gaining significant experience points, and collecting plenty of level 20+ Bronze Equipment and materials, all without any casualties.

This increased everyone's respect for Eric.

They had always thought Eric was just personally strong, but now they saw his exceptional team command skills.

"President, near the team's left side, about three hundred Battle Monkeys are approaching, estimated to reach us in thirty seconds," FlameDancer reported from the bushes in the team chat.

"President, near the team's rear, about four hundred Red-Eyed Battle Monkeys are approaching, including over ten Armored Battle Monkeys, estimated to reach us in one minute," FlyingShadow, one of the Five Demon Generals, also reported.

Everyone felt a jolt of fear.

Previous ambushes had come from one direction, but now the Battle Monkeys were using a pincer attack, and in such large numbers. The most they had faced before was around a hundred Battle Monkeys, but now they had to deal with nearly seven hundred, more than their team members.
