Chapter 98 Blueprint for the Whetstone of Precision
In just over a day, Eric noticed that Isabella and her team had all upgraded their gear. Each of them was now decked out in dazzling equipment from the Level 5 Inferno Caverns set, which was currently the best team gear available.
With this equipment, as long as they had proper command and ran the dungeon a few more times, clearing the Common Level Shadowmoon Graveyard should be no problem.
Regarding Shadowmoon Graveyard, even though Eric had a full set of Silver Moon gear, he still had several needs, such as the blueprint for the advanced Whetstone of Precision. This enhanced version of the Whetstone of Precision only dropped in team dungeons and had a chance to drop only from bosses.
"Alright, since everyone is here, let's disband and regroup."
Scarlet had initially intended to taunt Eric, but Isabella beat her to it by speaking up first.
Isabella had been a bit angry before, but after glancing at Eric, she was surprised to find that Eric had reached Level 6.
Currently, Level 6 players were the top in Willowbrook Town.
When she had previously encountered Eric, his level could only be described as mediocre at best. Now, having caught up, it was clear that Eric leveled up very quickly. As for Tonny and the others behind Eric, they were all Level 5, wearing full sets of Bronze Equipment, which was quite impressive for a pick-up group.
So, Eric's Squad disbanded and joined Isabella's team.
Eric joining Isabella's team was noticed by all the guild players around them. From their conversation and gear, it was clear that Eric and his team were not part of Devouring Serpents, yet they were still able to join Isabella's team to run the dungeon together. It was quite strange.
Eric's Squad's gear was clearly not high-level, just scattered pieces of Bronze level equipment, similar to what you'd see in a pick-up group.
This was a crucial first clear contest for a major team dungeon.By gathering such a formidable group, could it be that Isabella was exuding an exceptional level of confidence in effortlessly securing the first clear?Only Thornheart knew of Eric's strength. Now, with strong allies joining forces, their bid for the first clear of Shadowmoon Graveyard became much tougher.
"Lucas, that guy is the one who set us up," Blazeclaw said bitterly upon seeing Eric."So it's him?" Lucas raised his thick eyebrows and paid more attention to Eric. He then said in a low voice, "Since he has ties with the Ice Goddess, you should avoid provoking him. I don't want to clash with a top-tier guild right now."
Eric had managed to wipe out Blazeclaw's team and had some connection with the Ice Goddess. This person was not simple. Lucas needed to investigate further. If his connection with the Ice Goddess was just a chance encounter, then ShadowForge Studios wouldn't be easy to mess with, either. Naturally, they would make him pay. "Yes, I understand, Lucas," Blazeclaw said, glaring at Eric, gritting his teeth. But things were different on the Martial Alliance side.
Every member of Martial Alliance wanted to kill Eric on the spot, especially Leo Ironblade.Previously, he had boasted about killing Eric back to Level 0. Now, seeing Eric had already leveled up to 6, higher than his own level, he felt utterly humiliated.
"What are those Assassins doing? They let him clear his red name and level up to 6." Merely observing Eric standing there unscathed caused Leo Ironblade's face to flush red with anger. "Get me in touch with the Assassin squad immediately. What's going on?"
"Leo Ironblade, what's the matter?" asked an Assassin guarding the inn entrance. "What's the matter?" Leo Ironblade's anger surged, and he let out a roaring bellow., "I told you to keep an eye on Kai Blackthorn. What have you been doing?"
"Leo Ironblade, we've been watching him. Kai Blackthorn hasn't left the inn, probably because he's scared," said the Assassin, puzzled.
"Then who is this?" Leo Ironblade sent over a screenshot and said coldly."Impossible. We've been watching Kai Blackthorn the whole time, and he hasn't left," the Assassin said, stunned after seeing the screenshot.
"Useless. You couldn't even keep an eye on one person. Get out of Martial Alliance. I don't want to see you again," Leo Ironblade's rage consumed him. He then glared at Eric and ordered his men, "Get everyone here. As many as you can. Once he's out of the dungeon, I want him dead."
"Leo Ironblade, this might not be a good idea. He has some connection with the Ice Goddess. If we mess things up with Devouring Serpents, it won't be good for the guild," a Druid advised.
"I'm out here to save face. Now my dignity is being trampled upon, and you expect me to care about that meaningless nonsense?" Leo Ironblade scoffed. "So what about the Ice Goddess? She hasn't met me yet. I don't believe a woman can do anything to me. If she shows some wisdom, I might consider giving her some respect. If not, I'll kill her back to Level 0, too."
"Leo Ironblade is right. It's just Divine Realms: Legends with more players. We were formidable back then, and we can still dominate Divine Realms: Legends now. What's there to fear?"
Leo Ironblade's followers all agreed, exuding a rabid dog-like aura.To them, playing virtual games was all about being ruthless. While Divine Realms: Legends may have boasted a larger player base, the underlying principle remained unchanged. There was no need to concern oneself with trivial matters; the objective was clear—to utterly dominate those self-proclaimed top-tier guilds and force them into submission. They had thrived on ruthlessness in previous virtual games, and it would work here, too.
The newly joined Druid could only shake his head helplessly. These people were crazy!
Eric didn't notice the commotion on the Martial Alliance side. He was just discussing loot distribution with Isabella.
"Gear drops are distributed according to class. If two people need the same item, we roll for it. Is that okay?" Isabella asked.
"I have no issues with gear distribution, but any crafting blueprints and materials must go to me first," Eric stated. His primary objective here was to obtain the advanced Whetstone of Precision blueprint. The gear was of secondary importance to him.
"Don't forget that we are the ones taking you through the dungeon, and do you know how valuable crafting blueprints are right now?" Scarlet fumed, stomping her foot and roaring like a tigress.
Others were also indignant. Considering they were just a casual pick-up group, it was already quite generous of them to allow everyone to roll for gear. Now, they were pushing their luck.
"Eric, our gear is not as good as theirs. Clearing the dungeon is already a challenge. This demand is a bit much. Can you change it?" Tonny advised quietly.
Though their gear was good, it was still a notch below the others. Being able to roll for gear was already great. Competing for crafting blueprints was too much to ask.To be blunt, even without their participation, Isabella's team could clear Shadowmoon Graveyard.
Eric shook his head, didn't care about other blueprints, but he couldn't compromise on the advanced Whetstone of Precision blueprint. However, he couldn't specify this to avoid suspicion, as the official site wouldn't reveal drop data before a dungeon guide was available.
A twenty-person team dungeon refreshed every three days. There were only so many nearby team dungeons, and each run was precious. Obtaining the advanced Whetstone of Precision blueprint early would provide them with a significant advantage. For their studio, which thrived on seizing opportunities, every step was crucial in maintaining their success.
Isabella, with a cold expression, said, "Crafting blueprints are important to our guild. I can't agree to your demand."
