Chapter 395 Broken Steel Set
Eric quickly used the communication crystal to contact Selura.
"Hey, Selura. It's Kai Blackthorn. I need a favor. Got a minute?" Eric asked, trying to sound casual.
Given the vast difference in their statuses, Eric knew he had to be polite, even though they were on good terms.
"Oh, it's you. I'm really busy right now, so just get to the point," Selura replied, sounding uninterested.
For Selura, nothing was more important than collecting Epic Level forging materials. If she didn't owe Eric a favor, she might have refused outright.
Eric knew this well. Selura was entirely devoted to forging, which was likely why she became a master blacksmith at such a young age. He smiled and said, "I have a design for an Epic Level set."
"What? An Epic Level set!" Selura's eyes lit up. "Why didn't you say so earlier? Meet me at my smithy in a bit."
Hearing the excitement in her voice, Eric couldn't help but chuckle.
For NPCs, Epic Level forging designs were extremely rare, let alone an entire set. Many blacksmiths dreamed of crafting an Epic Level item their whole lives.
For players, obtaining an Epic Level forging design was even harder. In the previous life, the ShadowForge Guild had only managed to get a few, and Eric had only heard of Epic Level set designs, never seen one.
In Divine Realms: Legends, sets were half a tier stronger than individual items of the same level. This meant an Epic Level set was between Epic and Legendary Level items. For players who couldn't get Legendary Level items, an Epic Level set was the best gear.
Eric considered himself lucky to have obtained it in this life.
About half an hour later, Eric arrived at Selura's smithy by carriage. The smithy was still closed, not looking like it was open for business at all.
Eric knocked on the door, and it slowly opened, releasing a wave of heat from inside.
Selura emerged, pulling Eric inside.
She was dressed in her usual black leather outfit, with a deep V-neck revealing a fair expanse of skin. Her tight black pants highlighted her long, slender legs, exuding an irresistible charm.
"Let me see it," Selura said excitedly, almost pressing against Eric, completely unaware of how tempting her actions were.
Though Eric was used to this from his past life, he still felt a stir in his heart every time they met.
"Here it is," Eric said, calming himself before taking out the Broken Steel Set design from his bag.
The Broken Steel Set was the only Epic Level design, consisting of six pieces: Broken Steel Gauntlets, Broken Steel Chestplate, Broken Steel Helmet, Broken Steel Greaves, Broken Steel Boots, and Broken Steel Bracers. It was exclusive to the Blade Saint class, requiring 1000 strength, 1200 agility, and 350 sword mastery points.
Eric had initially thought it was gear he could use now, but the stats required meant it was for players level fifty and above.
The materials needed were: 12 pieces of Adamantine Steel, 300 Magic Source Stones, 1000 Titan Ore, 12 Fire Source Crystals, 12 Water Source Crystals, 12 Wind Source Crystals, 12 Earth Source Crystals, and 1 Core of Life.
"The person who designed this must be nuts. Are they trying to make a Legendary Level item?" Selura exclaimed, her mouth agape in shock.
Eric was equally stunned, unable to speak for a moment.
Though he had collected the Broken Steel Set design, he had been too focused on becoming a Blade Saint to examine it closely. He knew he couldn't make it yet, and the materials were impossible to gather at this stage.
Eric had sought Selura's help to gauge the success rate of crafting the set, but seeing the required materials made him reconsider. Gathering even one set of materials seemed impossible, let alone a second.
Eric had spent hundreds of gold just to collect 21 Magic Source Stones. Now he needed 300, which would cost thousands of gold. Adamantine Steel was even rarer and more valuable, coveted by many master blacksmiths. Titan Ore was a high-grade rare mineral that no one could mine yet. The elemental Source Crystals were beloved by alchemists and just as rare and precious as Adamantine Steel.
The Core of Life was the most unbelievable requirement, far more valuable than Water for Life and nearly impossible to find.
"Selura, if I manage to gather the materials, how confident are you in crafting it?" Eric asked, though he had already given up on the idea.
"Do you really have the materials?" Selura's eyes sparkled as she looked at Eric, as if she had found a mountain of Arcane Crystals. Her smile seemed to say, "Let's be best friends, rich guy."
"I'm just asking," Eric said with a wry smile. He couldn't gather those materials even if he sold himself.
"About a 20% chance. If I get more practice, I could increase it to 30%," Selura said, slightly disappointed but still very interested in crafting the Broken Steel Set.
"30%? That's better than I expected. Most NPC master blacksmiths wouldn't manage that. For players, even reaching 10% would be impressive," Eric thought. "I'll leave it to you, Selura. I'll try to gather the materials."
"Since you've entrusted this to me, I'll study the design until you gather the materials. As for the crafting fee, I won't charge you if I fail," Selura said happily.
In Divine Realms: Legends, master-level blacksmiths, whether players or NPCs, charged high fees regardless of success. Selura's offer showed how pleased she was.
System: Selura's favorability towards you has increased by 100 points.
Eric wasn't in a rush to craft the Broken Steel Set. Even if it were made now, he couldn't use it until he was level fifty or higher. He had time to gather the materials.
Eric left the Broken Steel Set design with Selura for her to study and took a carriage to meet Isabella at their agreed location.
