Chapter 342 Monster Siege
Despite the growing chaos outside the teleportation hall, the members of the major guilds weren't about to pass up the chance to make a name for themselves.
The president of Aether Wing, Black Flame, was right in front of them. If they could take him down, they'd be famous overnight, bringing huge benefits to both themselves and their guilds.
Black Flame's reputation was just too big to ignore.
Aether Wing's current prestige was largely thanks to Black Flame.
With such a golden opportunity right in front of them, there was no way they were going to miss it.
Black Flame had already killed many players within the city, breaking Silvervale City's rules and losing its protection. The city guards would soon arrive to kill Black Flame, meaning that even if they killed him, the guards wouldn't do anything to them.
The only exit was blocked, making this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
"Forget about what's happening outside. Let's take down Black Flame first. If we wait for the guards, we'll lose our chance."
"Yeah, we can't let him slip away."
"Black Flame, don't think you're untouchable just because you're skilled. Today’s the day you die."
"Is being skilled really that impressive?"
"Ever heard of strength in numbers? Enough ants can kill an elephant."
The members of the various guilds sneered, looking at Eric with greed and overconfidence instead of the previous awe.
"President Black Flame, I'll distract them while you escape," SwordShadow suddenly rushed in front of Eric, trying to create an opportunity for him.
Eric glanced at SwordShadow in surprise.
He hadn't paid much attention to SwordShadow before, focusing only on the situation. Now, observing SwordShadow, he realized this person was quite remarkable. Despite his mediocre equipment and level 17 status, SwordShadow exuded a unique aura that only martial artists possessed.
"Although I don't recall any top player named SwordShadow from my past life, this person is quite interesting," Eric thought, smiling faintly as he watched SwordShadow.
Divine Realms: Legends had countless top players. Even though Eric was the president of ShadowForge Studios and had played Divine Realms: Legends for ten years, he couldn't remember all the top players' names. The game had too many players, and he could only remember the top players he was familiar with or those who were widely known.
However, Eric admired SwordShadow not for his skills but for his actions.
While others avoided danger, SwordShadow actively rushed in, knowing it was a suicidal move but still doing it. Such 'fools' were rare.
As hundreds of people charged forward, Turtledove watched Eric, who remained motionless, quietly observing the crowd, unsure of what he was thinking.
Turtledove was puzzled.
Had he given up?
"So many guilds have come. It looks like this will be exhausting," Eric thought, scanning the surroundings and memorizing all the guilds present.
Blocking the teleportation hall entrance to prevent players from joining Aether Wing—if he didn't show these guilds Aether Wing's strength, they would only become more aggressive in the future.
Originally, he had no chance, but the situation had changed.
"It's about time. You should stay as far away from me as possible. If you get caught in the crossfire, it could be fatal," Eric quietly reminded SwordShadow and Turtledove before slowly walking towards the crowd. At the same time, he adjusted the Ring of Seven Luminaries on his finger to the Ring of Void, making himself immune to all control and restriction effects.
SwordShadow and Turtledove were completely baffled.
What was Eric planning to do?
Was he really going to take on hundreds of people by himself?
"You're overestimating yourself. Die!" A level 16 Berserker, leading the charge like a wild beast, sneered at the approaching Eric, raising his battle axe and using Charge to attack.
The massive battle axe descended with a gust of wind.
Expecting to knock Eric back with one blow, the Berserker was shocked to realize what true power was.
Eric casually swung his sword at the steel battle axe, sending the Berserker flying along with his axe, crashing into the charging crowd and scattering them.
"Is he a monster?" Turtledove was stunned.
The guild members were momentarily dazed but quickly recovered.
"Magic users, take him down!"
Although the melee fighters were scattered, the magic users continued their chants, sending spells flying towards Eric. He couldn't afford to take them head-on, so he used complex footwork to dodge the incoming magic while charging towards the crowd.
"He's targeting the healers! All melee fighters, block him!"
A group of melee fighters charged forward again.
Eric, at level 24, was equipped with top-tier gear, mostly Adamantite or higher, with attributes far surpassing those of the level 16-17 players. He effortlessly weaved through the crowd, his sword flashing, killing one player after another. Even those with defensive skills couldn't react quickly enough and were easily slain.
In the crowd, the ranged magic couldn't hit Eric, as someone always ended up as his shield. Even when some players used unavoidable control skills, the Ring of Void's effect rendered them useless.
"You melee fighters are too stupid. Can't you just move aside?"
"Damn it, you magic users are the real idiots. Can't you aim properly?"
Blood splattered as more than a dozen players died, causing the guild members to become agitated and start arguing.
"Black Flame's health is dropping, and no one is healing him. He won't last long. What's the rush?" A burly Guardian Knight emerged from the teleportation hall, followed by hundreds of guild elites.
"RogueVortex, why are you here?"
The crowd recognized the Guardian Knight.
RogueVortex's eyes glowed with a demonic red light, no longer calm.
Upon learning that Eric was in the teleportation hall, RogueVortex used a return scroll to rush back. Being killed by Eric was a great humiliation, and being kicked off the Honor Board only fueled his hatred.
"Black Flame, today is your death day. Everyone, attack!" RogueVortex laughed loudly, watching Eric fight.
"Kill!"
Suddenly, hundreds of Darkstar Guild elites charged at Eric.
"RogueVortex's timing is impeccable," Eric thought, frowning. Although his health was still over 70%, he couldn't withstand the onslaught of hundreds of Darkstar Guild elites. "Looks like I'll have to retreat."
As Eric charged towards the door, a massive explosion occurred at the entrance of the teleportation hall.
The hundred players blocking the door were instantly annihilated, leaving no corpses, only dropped equipment.
Everyone turned to look.
"What is that?" Turtledove's eyes widened in disbelief.
A steel giant stood at the entrance of the teleportation hall, exuding a chilling aura that made people shiver and avoid looking directly at it.
At the same time, Silvervale City issued a system announcement.
Silvervale City System Announcement: Monsters have invaded Silvervale City. Players who assist the city guards in killing the monsters will receive generous rewards based on their contributions.
However, the system announcement was overshadowed by the steel giant's contemptuous laughter, which terrified everyone in the hall.
"Finally found you."
