Chapter 78 The Interweaving of Black and White
The demons mask could hide one's identity. In Divine Realms: Legends, there were many situations where it was inconvenient for him to show his face, but with the demons mask, he could operate in the dark under a different identity, doing things his real identity couldn't. And now was the perfect time.
Eric walked out of the inn, glanced around, and noticed several players acting strangely, staring intently at the inn's door as if they were waiting for something. However, thanks to the demons mask, they didn't notice him.
"Why hasn't that guy come out yet? Is he planning to stay inside until his red-named player goes away?" an Assassin standing outside the inn said impatiently.
"What's the rush? That guy is dead meat. Daring to ambush Leo Ironblade and killing so many of our brothers, our Martial Alliance won't rest until he's dead. I want to see how long he can hide. If he foolishly decides to wait until his red name disappears without grinding to reduce his infamy, it will take a minimum of thirty hours. Even if he's strong now, in thirty hours, our gear and levels will surpass his by a mile. Killing him back to level zero will be a piece of cake," another Assassin mocked.
While these Martial Alliance members were chatting and mocking Eric, they didn't realize that Eric was standing right next to them, hearing everything clearly.
'Martial Alliance moves fast, sending an Assassin squad to watch me. They really think highly of me. Too bad I don't have time to play with them. Let them wait until dawn.' Eric thought.
He had anticipated that Leo Ironblade wouldn't let him go. After all, in his previous life, Eric had faced Leo Ironblade many times and understood his personality well. Leo Ironblade was the type to seek revenge no matter the cost, paying back a hundredfold if necessary.
To put it nicely, Leo Ironblade was straightforward; to put it bluntly, he was single-minded and easy to predict.
Shortly after, Eric confidently exited the inn, while a group of assassins foolishly waited at the entrance, mocking Eric for being timid and only daring to hide within the hotel. However, they knew deep down that he would eventually meet his demise.
In front of the auction house in the trade district, it was so crowded that it was impossible to squeeze in to buy some materials. Eric had to give up and head to the Chef's Association to check on Violet Mistflow's progress.
Compared to the now-popular Blacksmith Association, the Chef's Association was deserted, with only a few life players coming and going.
Eric readjusted the demon mask, reverting his appearance and concealing his red-named status, before entering the rented kitchen.
Inside, he found Violet Mistflow fully focused on making iced fruit juice, her technique surprisingly skilled and fast. Violet Mistflow had also reached level 3, surpassing many life players.
Eric had seen many master chefs make cold drinks in his previous life, but none as naturally smooth as Violet Mistflow. He found it hard to believe that Violet Mistflow claimed her speed was slow when it was clearly astonishing. Was she lying to him? Eric shook his head, thinking there was no need for her to lie, and walked over to ask, "Violet Mistflow, how are you doing?"
But Violet Mistflow seemed not to hear him, still thoroughly engrossed in making iced fruit juice, oblivious to everything else.
Seeing Violet Mistflow's intense focus, Eric was secretly impressed and chose not to disturb her, instead observing from the side.
More than ten minutes had passed, and Violet Mistflow still hadn't spotted Eric. In her hands, she had already prepared over ten glasses of ice fruit juice, each one displaying a fresh and translucent color, emitting an enticing aroma. Violet Mistflow finally noticed Eric when she turned to get more materials, startled to find her boss standing behind her, apparently waiting for a while.
Feeling anxious about making her boss wait, Violet Mistflow nervously said, "Boss." "Have you finished the 900 cups of iced fruit juice?" Eric asked with a smile, his evaluation of Violet Mistflow rising even higher.
The more focused someone was, the higher their efficiency was, and the easier it was to overcome difficulties. However, not everyone could maintain such high concentration for long periods, often getting distracted.
But Violet Mistflow had an extraordinary level of focus, doubling her efficiency and making her work much more effective. No wonder she eventually became a divine priest. Even if she played another class, her achievements would likely be just as high.
"I finished them all, but I had some new insights while making them, so I used a lot of materials to make new iced fruit juice. Boss, you won't blame me, will you?" Violet Mistflow said fearfully, worried because she hadn't followed Eric's instructions to make other dishes after finishing the nine hundred cups.
Eric chuckled, casting a glance at the numerous iced fruit juices on the table, and offered words of encouragement to her., "Why would I blame you? I'll even reward you. With the new iced fruit juice, I have a better chance of success. Here are three silver coins as a reward. I hope you continue to innovate. As for the share of the iced fruit juice, I'll give it to you once I sell them."
"Regarding the iced fruit juice, halt production for now.Focus on making those two Wolf Meat Cuisine dishes; I have great use for them."
Wolf meat wasn't precious to players now, but making it into Wolf Meat Cuisine could increase its price tenfold. Eating Wolf Meat Cuisine would boost each class's main attributes by 5 points for an hour.
This boost was incredibly enticing for many players, as it was equivalent to leveling up once and significantly accelerated their monster grinding. However, life players didn't care about high-cost dishes for cost reasons. By the time they did, they had missed a great opportunity.
"Thank you, boss. I'll complete the task," Violet Mistflow said gratefully, her face beaming with excitement. Meeting Eric was a stroke of luck; otherwise, she'd still be struggling to sell a few cups on the streets. The three silver coins were more than she could earn in seven or eight days, yet she managed to acquire them within just one day
Eric then stored all the iced fruit juice in his backpack, totaling over 1700 cups. If each cup sold for one copper coin, it would be seventeen silver—a significant amount for ordinary players but a small change for Eric. However, he had other plans for them.
System: [The Glowing Outfit Design Blueprint you sold at the auction house has been sold. After deducting the fee, two gold and 76 silver have been credited to your backpack space.]
'Has the Assassin Alliance already bought it?' Eric thought and checked the official forum. Sure enough, the Assassin Alliance had posted, boasting about acquiring the design blueprint to boost their reputation and influence.
The purchase of the blueprint highlighted the guild's solid foundation, causing many solo players to reassess the strength of the Assassin Alliance.
"Violet Mistflow, if you want to exchange game coins for credit points, wait another hour before putting the game coins on the virtual trading center for a better price," Eric advised Violet Mistflow.
Violet Mistflow nodded obediently, trusting Eric even though she didn't understand his reasoning. After all, Eric was her savior.
Eric then gave Violet Mistflow five more silver coins to buy materials for the Wolf Meat Cuisine and left the Chef's Association, transforming into another adult man's appearance."It's time to contact her," Eric thought, having completed his preparations. The Assassin Alliance had already made the major guilds anxious, making now the perfect moment. Eric opened his friend list, found Ice Goddess, and sent a message as Black Flame Blacksmith, arranging a meeting.
