Chapter 234 When the good rises, the bad also rises

Eric couldn't just walk away.

Although he didn't know what happened to Rosewater, if he could get so many materials and credits in one go, it would be a huge profit.

"Alright, I'll give you one minute. I'm in a hurry." Eric glanced at the System clock; there were less than two hours left before the Shadowwing Citadel auction started. If he missed it, he would have to wait a few more days.

ScribeCharm didn't dare waste time. He had already sent a message to his superior, waiting for a decision.

After waiting for another thirty seconds, he finally received a reply.

After reading it, ScribeCharm looked refreshed.

"Blackflame, Rosewater has said that due to the large transaction amount, we must verify the contents of the envelope. Of course, I will be the one to verify it. If there are no issues, we will transfer the money immediately," he said confidently to Eric.

"No way. If you see what's in this letter, the information inside will lose all its value. If you then decide not to pay, I'd be at a huge loss. Unless you pay first..." Eric said with a cold smile, "Since you have no sincerity, let's just forget about it."

The information in the letter was valuable enough to elevate a major guild to a higher level, especially for a top-tier guild. However, this information couldn't fetch a sky-high price of one billion credits.

Since Eric had already cooperated with Rosewater, he wouldn't betray them and work with someone else. So he was just teasing ScribeCharm.

"Blackflame, we've shown a lot of sincerity. If you continue acting like this, I'll have to consider it as you toying with Echoes of Dusk. And you know the results. Let me see the information in the envelope. As long as there's no problem, with Echoes of Dusk's reputation, we would never tarnish our name by not paying," ScribeCharm said with a warm smile, but the cold glint in his small eyes was unmistakable.

"Are you threatening me?" Eric's voice turned icy. "Even though Echoes of Dusk is a top-tier guild, I'm not someone to be trifled with. End the cooperation." With that, Eric left the restaurant, leaving ScribeCharm stunned.

ScribeCharm never expected Eric to be so resolute.

He had thought Black Flame was just a Blacksmith and wouldn't dare challenge a top-tier guild like Echoes of Dusk, so he tried to threaten him. The result was far beyond his expectations and even had the opposite effect.

His superiors had tasked him with maintaining a relationship with Black Flame, ideally making it closer, and if possible, bringing Black Flame into Echoes of Dusk.

'Damn it, this Black Flame is simply unreasonable,' ScribeCharm thought. He wanted to go after Eric, but doing so would be too humiliating. He had just made a threat and then would have to turn around and grovel. He prided himself on not being able to do that. 'He must be playing me, which is why he didn't dare show me the information inside.'

He then contacted his superior.

"ScribeCharm, how did it go?" a stern voice came through the voice communication.

"Sir, that Black Flame refused and wouldn't let me see. But I'm sure he's playing me; the information in the envelope must be useless," ScribeCharm said confidently.

"I see. It's a pity, but Black Flame has given us a good idea. Since he doesn't want to trade, we can find someone else to cooperate with. I heard Black Flame is from Eldoria, which should be short on ores. Find a powerful guild in Eldoria; they should be willing to cooperate."

"Yes, sir."

ScribeCharm felt quite pleased. He thought, 'Black Flame, didn't you so great? I'll sell all these ores to other guilds in Eldoria and see how you survive there.'

ScribeCharm then left the restaurant to find a partner in Eldoria.

After leaving the restaurant, Eric used the Demon Mask to change his appearance and waited outside for ScribeCharm.

Although he didn't want to cooperate with ScribeCharm, it didn't stop him from messing with him.

After all, getting so many ores wasn't easy. Letting them go wasn't his style.

He couldn't do it as Black Flame, but with a different appearance, it was a different story. Even if he tricked ScribeCharm, he could just change his appearance again.

Echoes of Dusk must have spent a lot of resources to buy so many ores. If they couldn't sell them, they wouldn't be able to use them all in ten days. This would be a significant burden for Echoes of Dusk since these ores couldn't be turned into guild power; they needed to be converted into money.

To turn them into money, they would have to sell the ores to guilds that needed them. Freelancers couldn't consume so many ores.

Even top-tier guilds couldn't consume so many ores at once unless they bought them with credits.

But did Echoes of Dusk lack credits? No, they din't. If they could buy a large amount of gold with credits, they would do it without hesitation. But the System doesn't allow such exchanges, and the virtual trading center doesn't have that much gold.

The more they buy, the higher the price of gold becomes, making it very uneconomical. So major guilds usually don't dare to buy large amounts of gold.

If Echoes of Dusk didn't sell these ores quickly, it would be detrimental to the guild's development.

However, finding a willing buyer for so many ores wasn't easy. The only possibility was to find a guild in Eldoria. A little investigation would reveal that Black Flame was from Eldoria and had been buying a lot of ores, indicating a shortage there. Anyone with a bit of sense would choose to cooperate with someone from Eldoria.

Unfortunately, Echoes of Dusk didn't think that entering Shadowwing Citadel wasn't easy. Even for a major guild, getting a pass to Shadowwing Citadel was challenging, and many guilds didn't even know it existed.

Even though Divine Realms: Legends had been open for a while, very few players in Eldoria could enter Shadowwing Citadel, let alone find a partner who could consume so many ores.

After an hour of following, Eric saw that ScribeCharm hadn't found a single player from Eldoria. Most were freelancers from other kingdoms or empires, and even the guild players he met weren't core members. Most importantly, they weren't interested in ores.

This left ScribeCharm very frustrated. He couldn't understand why he couldn't find any players from Eldoria, not even freelancers.

At this point, Eric used the Demon Mask to transform into RogueVortex and casually walked towards ScribeCharm.
