Chapter 358 Struggle of the Trapped Beast

Eric knew the group was using the Sixfold Seal of Demon Slaying, but it was too late to stop them.

The six Assassins held crystal balls that emitted a dazzling purple light, followed by dark purple flames that erupted and trapped them and Eric in a fiery purple barrier.

The barrier wasn't large, only about 30 by 30 yards, just a few steps for players of their level.

"President BlackFlame, you had the nerve to mess with our Stellar Alliance today. Acting all high and mighty, huh? Time to teach you a lesson."

"Why waste words on him? He's just some small-town hero from Silvervale City. He has no clue how powerful the Stellar Alliance is. Let's just take him out. RedFeather's waiting."

"Just giving him a moment to sweat. The barrier's up; no one can interrupt us now. We can take our time. He can't escape."

"Yeah, killing this arrogant BlackFlame too quickly would be no fun."

"Got any last words, President BlackFlame? Haha."

The six Assassins taunted Eric, looking at him like he was an insect, completely at their mercy.

The Sixfold Seal of Demon Slaying was a highly restrictive magical barrier, unlike a magic scroll. It required six players to activate and would randomly trap a target within the specified area. Only the six players using the crystal balls would remain inside, while everyone else, including monsters, would be expelled. No one could enter the barrier from outside, and those inside couldn't leave unless the target died or all six initiators were killed. The trapped player couldn't use any magic or skills, making it a deadly trap.

Not being able to use skills was like a tiger without teeth or claws, posing no threat. Eric had previously used a wide-area anti-magic skill, Absolute Time, to kill hundreds of players.

Eric's combat prowess was impressive, but Absolute Time played a crucial role.

Now, Eric faced six level 20 elite Assassins who could use skills and magic, trapped in the barrier with no way out. The situation was dire.

"What a waste," Eric sighed, glancing at the purple fire barrier and then at the six Assassins.

The Sixfold Seal of Demon Slaying was meant for high-level magic bosses. Despite its restrictions, it could be used freely in dungeons, unlike high-level magic scrolls like Dance of the Water Dragons.

Using it against a melee Swordsman like him was not only wasteful but inappropriate.

"President BlackFlame, you know it's a waste. Watching you die is a pity, but don't worry, we'll record your death and upload it to the official site. Everyone will see how the immortal myth ends."

"Don't blame us, President BlackFlame. Blame yourself for being too arrogant and greedy, daring to oppose the Stellar Alliance."

The six laughed, already envisioning Eric becoming a laughingstock in Divine Realms: Legends, while they would gain fame for killing him.

They activated stealth, preparing to take Eric down.

But Eric charged forward first, without hesitation, moving at a frightening speed.

Assassins were deadly in stealth, but once exposed, their threat diminished. Eric knew this and attacked the six Assassins.

The sound of metal clashing echoed within the barrier as the six Assassins were forced out of stealth, glaring angrily at Eric.

"BlackFlame, no matter how hard you fight, the result's gonna be the same. Since you wanna die quickly, I'll grant your wish!" NightFang, a dark-skinned, short Assassin leader, slashed at Eric's abdomen with one dagger while the other aimed for his side.

Players instinctively block frontal attacks, often missing side strikes. Even if they notice the side dagger, they usually block the frontal one first.

This combination of visible and hidden, slow and fast attacks showed NightFang's skill, proving he was no ordinary player.

If the daggers hit, Eric would be stunned, allowing the Assassins to keep him incapacitated until his death.

As NightFang attacked, two other Assassins also struck at Eric.

The remaining three Assassins watched mockingly, thinking Eric's struggle was futile.

As the daggers neared Eric, he shifted his stance, dodging the strikes effortlessly, then turned to avoid the two Assassins' attacks from behind, moving fluidly without wasted motion.

The six Assassins were shocked.

Their perfect joint attack was easily countered.

Eric's skillful dodging stunned them, but he didn't stop. His Abyssal Blade and Infernal Shadeblade created a flurry of sword shadows, each aimed at the vital points of the three Assassins in front, moving like lightning.

The three Assassins were alarmed, blocking with their daggers, even using Assassin's parry.

Though they blocked the sword strikes, Eric's immense strength pushed them back, numbing their arms.

"Such power, such speed."

The three Assassins no longer underestimated Eric. They realized his prowess, understanding why even RedFeather would avoid a direct confrontation.

Eric's strength and speed were overwhelming, forcing them back. If not for their combined defense, they would have been dead.

They realized Eric wasn't a toothless tiger but a human-shaped beast, capable of crushing them with sheer power. Any one of them facing Eric alone would be doomed.

Suddenly, they felt they had made a grave mistake, trapping themselves with this beast.

"Without Infernal Fury's 100% speed boost, I can't take them down instantly," Eric thought, assessing the Assassins' skill level. They were definitely experts.

But the three Assassins were now exposed, giving Eric an opportunity. He swung his sword again, aiming to finish them off before they could regroup. However, the other three Assassins attacked from behind, forcing Eric to defend.

Eric spun around, swinging his sword with full force, knocking the three Assassins back. He then charged at one Assassin, slashing multiple times. The Assassin panicked, using Galestride to block the attacks and buy time for his comrades to help.

Galestride gave the other five Assassins time to react. They rushed at Eric, pushing him back.

"This isn't working. We can't hold back anymore. Use the berserk potions," NightFang ordered.

The other five Assassins nodded, taking out blood-red potions from their bags. These berserk potions were precious, meant for emergencies, but they had to use them now.
