Chapter 163 The Frenzied Level
"This is..." Eric muttered, eyes glued to the sky. The magic circle forming above was way beyond anything he'd ever imagined.
This wasn't just some Tier 2 spell. This was on a whole different level, like it could make the heavens themselves shake.
Though the exact potency of the Luminous Celestialflare remained unknown, it sufficed as long as it surpassed Tier 2 magic.
"Incredible..." Tonny whispered, awe-struck. He watched as light elemental energy swirled above, a storm of power like nothing he'd ever seen.
The magic storm sent the nearby rhinos into a frenzy. Pure, primal fear drove them to charge at Eric.
He was swarmed, over ten Marshland Behemoths closing in on him, leaving almost no room to move. Luckily, Radiant Ward's damage reduction and health regen were keeping him alive. But he couldn't just stay on the defensive.
With a burst of energy, Eric leaped into the air, Frost Azure Flame blazing around him in blue fire. The Abyssal Blade, crackling with lightning and searing flames, buzzed with power.
"Inferno Thunderstorm!"
He slashed, sending a devastating arc of thunder and fire that engulfed everything within five meters. Damage numbers, each over 626, popped up across the charging behemoths. Critical hits, some over a thousand, stunned several creatures for a precious four seconds.
That brief moment gave Eric the breathing room he needed.
"Here it comes!" he shouted, eyes locked on the sky.
The golden magic circle, now a swirling vortex of pure energy, had turned into a blazing meteor, plummeting towards the earth.
Before it hit, Eric acted. "Thunderbolt!"
Three bolts of lightning shot out, striking the distant Rhino Warlord One-Eye. The damage, a measly 900 in total, didn't matter. The real goal was the Thunderbolt's secondary effect—a 20% damage increase debuff now clung to the Warlord, ensuring it would feel the full force of the Luminous Celestialflare.
The meteor struck.
A blinding flash of light engulfed the Mirehaven Marshes, a shockwave of pure energy sweeping across the battlefield. From Tonny and Ezio's vantage point, it looked like a mini sun had crashed into the earth.
Then came the damage numbers.
A wave of white, each number over a thousand, filled their vision. Critical hits, glowing orange, dealt over two thousand damage. At the epicenter, where the meteor hit, crimson numbers showing three thousand, four thousand, even six thousand damage painted a scene of total destruction.
The Marshland Behemoths, with their 3200 HP, were no match for such power and crumpled one after another. Even the elite Twinhorn Rampagers, with their 17500 HP, were reduced to smoldering corpses.
The Rhino Warlord One-Eye, its 50,000 HP slashed by the initial blast, roared in pain and fury, its blood-red eyes locking onto Tonny.
It wasn't alone. Every surviving monster, driven by primal instincts for vengeance, turned towards the source of their destruction.
But before they could react, a second golden meteor appeared in the sky, crashing down with even greater force.
This time, the damage was even higher, 10% more than before. The remaining Level 15 Marshland Behemoths were obliterated, leaving only a few heavily armored Twinhorn Rampagers and the enraged Rhino Warlord One-Eye.
And it still wasn't over.
Every second, for fifteen grueling seconds, another meteor crashed down, each one stronger than the last, ramping up the damage by another 10%. The Twinhorn Rampagers, tough as they were, finally bit the dust after the fifth meteor.
But the Rhino Warlord One-Eye? That beast wasn't going down easy. Its rage sent it into a berserk frenzy, boosting its defenses and attack power through the roof. It charged, a juggernaut of fury and vengeance.
"Not today." Eric, with a Wind-chasing Sword, approached the Rhino Warlord One-Eye and plunged the Abyssal Blade into him with a single thrust.
"Abyssal Bind!"
Nine chains, forged from shadows and despair, shot up from the ground, wrapping around the Rhino Warlord One-Eye and holding it tight.
One by one, the Luminous Celestialflare meteors kept raining down, their damage climbing from three thousand to over seven thousand per hit. The Warlord, its 50,000 HP getting chipped away, roared in defiance, but it was a losing battle.
As the final meteor faded, silence fell over the Mirehaven Marshes. The once teeming horde of monsters was now just ash and the faint smell of ozone. In their place lay a treasure trove of loot, glittering under the now-clear sky.
Two golden lights enveloped Tonny and Ezio, signaling their level-ups. They were now Level 13. Eric, bathed in the same light, hit Level 13 with 92% experience, just a hair away from Level 14.
"This..." Tonny stared at his staff, then at the carnage around them, struggling to wrap his mind around what had just happened.
A single Luminous Celestialflare had wiped out an army of Level 20 monsters, including elites and a special elite. It was a display of power beyond anything he could've imagined.
The leveling speed was insane. Two levels in seconds. What would take seasoned players days, they had done in an instant.
"It's terrifying," Ezio breathed, awe in his voice. "No team, no matter how strong, could stand against that kind of power."
They finally got why Epic Level items were such a big deal, why guilds would go to any lengths to get them. With that kind of power, leveling and getting high-level gear became almost too easy.
Even Wilderness bosses, those massive powerhouses, would think twice before facing the destructive might of Luminous Celestialflare. This was a game-changer, a weapon that put them leagues ahead of players with just Mithril gear.
The loot from the fallen rhinos was staggering: a mountain of Level 15 to 20 Bronze and Dark Iron equipment, plus a small fortune in attribute gems, worth easily over ten gold.
"It's finally over," Eric sighed, relief washing over him. Without Luminous Celestialflare, taking on a berserk Level 20 special elite would've been suicide. But now, seeing its true power, he could confidently send Tonny and Ezio to the Level 22 Crystal Forest.
The gem drop rate there was even higher than Luminescent Grove, promising faster leveling, more wealth, and access to even more powerful gem equipment. And best of all, it was a place no one would expect them to be, keeping them safe from prying eyes.
As they finished gathering the last of the loot, Eric's communicator pinged. It was Cola, back in Willowbrook Town.
"Eric, it's happening," Cola's voice crackled through the communicator, barely containing his excitement. "Several guilds are making their move. Should we proceed?"
A slow grin spread across Eric's face. "Perfect timing. I've been waiting for this." He looked at Tonny and Ezio, his eyes gleaming with determination. "It's time to show them what Aether Wing Studios is truly capable of."
