Chapter 93 Shadowweaver Darkcaster
The spiral staircase led directly to the core control area at the top.
Eric climbed an unknown number of stairs before reaching the corridor leading to the core area. The walls flanking the corridor were engraved with ancient magical runes. After taking several turns in the Arcane Corridor, he saw a red-glowing machine, about the size of a soccer ball, continuously emitting warnings, seemingly guiding the Sentinel Golem.

Eric immediately understood why he was so easily discovered. This Vigilant Guardian was like a radar, capable of detecting enemies within a 1500-foot radius. Once detected, the alarm would sound.. The corridor entrance was roughly 1500 feet away, so he was discovered. He needed to eliminate it to disable the alarm in this area.
However, this thing was compassionate. It wouldn't let any enemy get within 90 feet. Once attacked, the Vigilant Guardian would retreat desperately and speed up calling its companions, never giving the player a second chance to attack. It was tough to deal with.

Over ten minutes later, Eric had taken down three more Vigilant Guardians and finally exited the Arcane Corridor, arriving at the control room.
In the center of the control room was a huge barrier, inside which lay a dark gray metal. This metal was the heart and energy source of the entire Fortress of Steel Shells, the Heart of the Titan.
"I didn't expect anyone to come here after all these years."
Before Eric could examine the control room, a chilling laugh came from the entrance of the central barrier. The voice emitted was frigid and devoid of emotion, not resembling anything a human could produce, but rather akin to that of a puppet or lifeless corpse.
"Welcome to my fortress, Barutia Peaks. To celebrate your arrival, I have decided to feed my pet with your warm flesh. Come out, Infernal Hound!"

Eric rolled to the side, dodging the pounce.
But as the Infernal Hound landed, its fiery claws swept horizontally.
Eric was prepared, parrying with his dual swords.
Although he wasn't harmed, Eric was sent flying.
The Infernal Hound opened its jaws, spewing scorching flames that engulfed Eric, leaving him no escape.
Gritting his teeth, Eric used Phantom Slay, switching places with his airborne clone at the last moment.
The clone was instantly consumed by flames, turning to ashes, with the System showing a damage of 3000 points. Even at total health with a life shield, he couldn't withstand that attack.
Eric realized the Infernal Hound's power. Such damage was beyond a level 15 elite, likely due to the storyline, significantly suppressing its strength. Based on his experience, he estimated the Infernal Hound's level to be at least 30, likely a lord-level boss.
