Chapter 354 The Hunter and the Prey

After taking down RogueVortex, Eric turned to face the remaining members of the Darkstar Guild.

Eric's terrifying presence had completely paralyzed the remaining Darkstar Guild members with fear.

One man, one sword, a hundred strikes of annihilation.

In the blink of an eye, over a hundred people were gone, and their guild leader, RogueVortex, was no match at all, reduced to ashes by the deathly figure of Eric.

The remaining Darkstar Guild members felt a chill down their spines just from Eric's gaze, their bodies heavy as if filled with lead, completely devoid of the courage to continue fighting.

Many players watching from a distance had recorded the scene and immediately uploaded it to the official site, causing a sensation and making the name BlackFlame even more famous.

"Run!" No one knew who shouted it, but the remaining Darkstar Guild members all agreed and scattered in all directions.

With hundreds of people fleeing, even if Eric was incredibly fast, he couldn't kill them all. So, he targeted the nine Assassins and Rangers who had been protected from the start.

These individuals were carrying items dropped by the Mechanical Slaughterer. As for the others, it didn't matter if they were killed or not.

"Damn, why is my luck so bad!" one fleeing Assassin muttered, his face pale as he saw Eric charging straight at him. Realizing he couldn't escape, he turned to fight, "Come on, if you dare."

But as soon as the Assassin turned, the scorching Abyssal Blade pierced his heart, his health dropping to zero, and three items dropped, two of which were from the Mechanical Slaughterer.

Eric quickly grabbed the items and put them in his backpack, then turned to his next target.

By the time the Darkstar Guild members had run out of the Absolute Time's range, Eric had taken down six more, collecting fifteen items in total. The remaining three had escaped beyond Eric's reach.

"Not a bad haul," Eric said with a satisfied smile, looking at the new items in his backpack.

With these fifteen items, he had collected fifty-two drops, almost half of the Mechanical Slaughterer's loot.

Just as Eric was about to leave, he noticed players from other guilds rushing towards him, their eyes filled with greed, seeing him as an easy target.

If Eric had only taken three or four items, they wouldn't have dared to confront him. But the sheer number of items he had collected was too tempting.

Greed had completely overcome their fear.

Although Eric had shown terrifying strength, everyone knew his explosive power was temporary, and after using a large-scale anti-magic skill, he would need a long cooldown. This gave them the confidence to charge at him.

Realizing the danger, Eric turned and fled.

Having just used Absolute Time, facing thousands of players, even he couldn't survive.

"RedFeather, that BlackFlame is trying to escape. If he reaches the safe zone in Silvervale City, we'll have a hard time dealing with him. Should we use that thing now?" a Sorcerer asked.

RedFeather fell silent.

Hatty suddenly spoke up, "RedFeather, are we really going to do this?"

Hatty's question caught the team off guard.

Usually, Hatty was the first to call for a fight, but now she was hesitating, which was unusual.

"Hatty, didn't you say you wanted to teach BlackFlame a lesson? What's changed? Are you scared?" an Assassin joked.

"Who's scared? You want a beating? We can spar when we get back," Hatty shot back, glaring at the Assassin.

"Come on, I was just joking. You're a top-ranked expert. How could you bully me like this?" the Assassin quickly backed down.

Hatty was the strongest in their team, second only to RedFeather, and no one dared to mess with her.

Hatty snorted proudly and turned to RedFeather, her eyes filled with concern, unsure of what decision he would make.

She hadn't taken Eric seriously before, even though he had shown impressive skills. But now, after witnessing his swift and precise swordsmanship, she was convinced that Eric's abilities were not limited to just one city.

"Do it!" RedFeather finally decided.

If they could get a large amount of Adamantite and Obsidian Level items, it would be worth the risk. They were a top-tier guild, the Stellar Alliance, and even dared to provoke Devouring Serpents, so why not Aether Wing?

"Got it." The Assassins in the team excitedly took out blood-red crystal balls from their backpacks, activated Galestride and stealth, and quickly moved towards Eric.

Eric's speed was incredible, and ordinary players couldn't keep up. Even the faster Rangers, Assassins, and Swordsmen couldn't catch him.

But surprisingly, the players chasing Eric were getting closer.

From over 100 yards away, they closed the distance to 30 yards. Just a bit more, and the Shield Warriors and Berserkers could use Charge forth to intercept him.

But no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't close that final 30-yard gap.

The frustration was driving them mad.

"Quite a crowd," Eric glanced back at his pursuers, a smirk on his face.

The chasing players hadn't realized that instead of getting closer to Silvervale City's safe zone, they were getting farther away.

They were almost at the entrance of the teleportation hall.

"He's trying to escape through the teleportation array!"

The players panicked. If Eric used the teleportation array to leave Silvervale City, catching him would be nearly impossible.

"Look, a group of people is coming out of the teleportation hall."

"Block him! He has Obsidian Level items. If we kill him, they'll drop."

Seeing over a hundred people coming out of the teleportation hall, the pursuers were hopeful, trying to get them to block Eric. If they could delay him even a little, they could catch him.

The players at the hall entrance quickly moved to block the door, much to the pursuers' delight.

"Wait, those people look familiar."

"Aren't the two women in front FlameDancer and Rosewater from Aether Wing?"

"Why are they here?"

As they got closer, they recognized the hundred players, realizing something was wrong. They saw the same predatory look in Rosewater and the others' eyes that they had seen in Eric's.

It wasn't mockery or disdain, but the look of a hunter eyeing its prey.
