We now know that it Kane who is behind the attacks on the smaller packs. Looks like from what Leigha has said that he is gathering an army. While she tells us the story I have a feeling she is holding back. Just before she gets to the part where she and the others escape she looks at Bridget with sadness and hurt. I don’t understand until Bridget cups her cheek in her hand and speaks “my love I saw it all when you kissed me. I felt it all. I know what it means to you and believe me it does not change how I feel about you. It is a road we will walk together but just know I know you are more than that to me.” tears stream down Leigha's cheeks as Bridget speaks her riddles. When she finishes what she had to say to Leigha she pressed her lips to Leigha's so gentle. I had to look away and give them this moment together,
Looking over at alpha jay I see his hands in a fist. The knuckles are white with anger. He notices me and I raise my eyebrow, shaking his head then looking to Leigha telling me it's hers to tell. Being twins means they have a very close bond. Leigha takes a deep breath and tells us all how she escaped the clutches of that horrible wolf. The whole time we are all growling at what she had to go through, Bridget is just holding her giving her the support she needs. By the end of her story, we all have gone through a roller coaster of feelings. We have learned a lot from her though. And then it hit me they were going to do those things to a pup. I growled so loud the room shook. All eyes are on me eyes widening at the fury ‘I’m sure is on my face, “what's up dude?” Brendon ask. “she said she made them take her place instead of the pup. The pup is around ash’s age. They were going to…….” I can't finish my thought as my wolf growls loudly again. My aura is so strong it's causing everyone but the queen and kings to bow their heads. Bridget's hand on my forearm causes my eyes to snap to her. She smiles at me and just looks at me showing me the love that her mate had for the girl. She then links “don’t. Leigha did that to save her just as you would ash. I know the thought has your wolf upset but we have to keep our heads to fight this monster.” I nod to her and take a few deep breaths letting my anger fall to the back of my head
Once I had calmed down we all decided it was time to break for the day and make sure the she-wolves had all they needed. As for me, I needed to go see ash. As I make my way out of the packhouse the little pup comes running up to me. “mister” she says as she tugs my hand back, looking down at her I smile and kneel. “what can I do for you sweetie?” she starts to play with her fingers and I wait for her to say what she wanted to say. “I heard you say that you might maybe have clean clothes I could wear. And I was wondering if maybe I could borrow some?” her voice was so quiet but I heard everything, I see Shelly looking at us. “would it be okay if I took her to my cabin and let her pick a few things out, for now, that way she had some things until we can take her shopping?” Shelly's eyes go wide and she thinks about it before she can say anything “she could also get to know ash and Jordan may be making a few friends would be nice.” I smile at Shelly letting her know I mean it and I don’t mind taking her sister with me, she smiles and nods then looks at Addie “ill come get you in a few hours I have training. Is that okay alpha?” I nod standing and holding my hand out for Addie. She takes it and smiles. I see Shelly relax knowing her sister will be safe.
On the walk to the cabin, Addie had so many questions the first being if I was so young how did I have a daughter a little older than her. Telling her how I adopted Ashley and Jordan she seem to understand. “so they didn’t have a mom and dad anymore and you became their dad?” smiling at her I nod “do you think ill get a new mommy and daddy too? I don’t want Shelly to have to take care of me she needs to live her life you know.?” “I don’t think Shelly would ever let anyone take you away from her sweetie, your all the family she has left so she will keep you close because she loves you. You might not get a new mommy and daddy but you will always have one of the best big sisters out there.” hoping my words help this little pup understand the love I have seen in Shelly's eyes for her. She looks up at me and smiles wide. And I know she knows what I said is true.
I open the door and a screaming daddy’s home comes before a ball of sticky mess throws himself at me. Laughing as I catch Jordan “oh my what did you get into. Where are dad and ash?” Noah walks out for the kitchen area with the syrup bottle and a towel in hand. “he was helping make waffles the lid on the syrup was open and he knocked it over” he tells me laughing “he's so clumsy but we will keep him. Who’s that?” Ashley says as she comes out of the kitchen. Looking down I see Addie half hiding behind me. “ash this is Addie her big sister is Shelly. They just got here and she has no clothes and I thought you could loan her some for now.” she looks at Addie for a second then smiles “of course what is mine is hers daddy we help wolves that's our job. Come on ill show you to my room and you can pick out anything you want. I'll even let you use my bathroom so you can shower if you want. Do you like waffles?” Addie just smiles and nods following behind ash. Ash just rattles on and on at the girl and she just listens.
