Chapter 7
In the study my is father waiting for beta Michael to come in. I feel nervous so I’m pacing the room. Thinking about that whole family. Mr, Greene is never nice to his mate or pup. John seems to take after him. Mrs. Greene is not allowed out of the Greene's cabin. The Greene's also are against living in the main house. I have been trying to figure out why I don’t like them so much but I can't put a finger on it.
Once beta Michael enters and sits down I look at them “miss Nancy is having problems with the Greene pup. He is talking down to the females and pushing them about. Making them do things for him instead of doing them himself. She found a few of the girls crying because he hit them when they wouldn't give him their food. He does not do what she tells him as well. She asked that I pass a message to his mother that if this behavior does not stop he will no longer be welcome.” dropping down in a chair once it's all our.
“have you seen any of this yourself?” shaking my head “but I wouldn't put it past him he's not a nice pup. He is demanding and opening shows his dislike of me. Had gotten worse since you beat his father in the fights” picking at the edge of the blanket that covers the chair. “what does your gut tell you about him?” snapping my eyes up to him in question. “what?” “well, you have been around the pup more than I so you know him better. I have my feelings about the father. So what are your thoughts on the pup?” I look to Mary who nods for me to go on. I look at both our father's faces, not one clue as to what they think. Knowing I would hate myself If I lied and what good of a future leader would I be if I lied. “well he's a brat that seems to get worse every day. He hates being told what to do. I feel if not taken care of now he will be a big problem later.” shrugging. They nod “sadly son both Michael and myself were just talking about the Greene's this morning. Seems Betty saw Susan this morning with bruises but she wouldn't tell her where they were from. So I guess it's time to talk to that wolf.” now father is pacing the room. Stopping both his and the beta's eyes go blank its the weirdest thing they are here but not here. I wonder if they can hear us when like this.
“Since you two will be leaders of the pack one day and are already 15 you will stay here and watch and learn. Well, it's a learning experience for us all. But you'll be able to see if it goes wrong and maybe where to fix it for the next time.” we nod. Soon Tim comes in and lets father know that Mr. Greene would be here shortly. Father nods at him and he leaves. A few minutes later Mr, Greene comes in with a huge grin on his face. I'm sure he thinks this is for one of the leadership spots father has yet to fill. But if I was father, I would give those to Tim and tom they are very responsible and loyal to father. “have a seat Joshua” father says pointing to the chair I am in so I jump up and stand behind him so I can see Mr. Greene.
“what can I do for you alpha?” he asks but I hear a bit of something in his voice that tells me he has little respect for father. “it's about your pup. He seems to make problems at the school. If his behavior is not corrected he won't be allowed there anymore. This is far from blending in Joshua.” my father states. Mr. Greene does not react at all. Just stares at my father for a while before “and just what is he doing alpha” now I hear the disdain in his voice and the anger creeping on his face. “he's not following the rules. Opening hostile to the others. Hitting and taking things that are not his. He is rude to the school marma as well.” father glares back at him with an I dare you to keep the disrespect look.
Shrugging his shoulder “were they wolves or humans?” spitting out the words humans like leaves a bad taste in his mouth. I want to growl at this. “what does it matter Joshua?” my father asks he's being so calm. “humans are beneath us so why care.” “do you plan to fix his behavior?” father demands “what's the point they need to learn their place we are above them.” he glares back at father. I see father's eyes start to glow his wolf not liking this I feel the vibration in my chest as he growls. It's like he's making the room shake. Looking around I see I'm not the only one who can feel it. “this is your only warning Greene to correct his behavior or find your way off my land. No get out” he roars the last part. It was so strong the doors and windows rattled with the sound. Beta female Betty rushed in to find out what happened. Mr. Greene scurries out of the chair and out the door.
Father is breathing hard almost a pant his eyes glowing black orbs just staring at the door. Betty comes in with a cup of coffee “all my words William you gave me a fright I thought the house was coming down. Here drink and calm yourself before you do something stupid. My love maybe takes the alpha for the run-up in the hills rumor is there is an elk herd up there. Elk sounds lovely doesn’t it?” crossing her arms over her chest staring at her mate. I have seen that look before it's the go-on try me look. She has given that look to me and Mary a few times when we were up to no good. Beta Michael nods and shoves my father out the door.
“that Mr. Greene is digging his own grave,” she says to the empty door.
