Chapter 44
Ashley pov
A large gulp of water enters my throat rushing down my throat to my lungs. My body starts to try and expel the water only to bring more water in. Fear of drowning started to take over as my lungs start to burn from the water. Black dots start dancing at the edge of my vision. That same soft voice wraps around me again “relax little one the water won't hurt you.” spinning around looking for the voice forgetting my fight to breathe. When my body slowly relaxes into the water. A warm feeling starts in my lungs moving through my body. “see just relax little one” the more the voice speaks to me the calmer I feel. “now little one find your cave I will meet you there” dropping my shoulders I find my cave entrance. What I hadn't expected was to see the millions of shades of green and blue dancing around me. the different shades of browns and reds in the rocks and stones all around me. Looking up I can see the men looking down at me in the water. They start yelling and pointing. Not wanting them to see where I went I dive down to the bottom string up as much sand and slip into the water making the clear green water a dirty mud color. Giving me a good cover I slip into the cave entrance.
Normally I swim fast through here but right now I took the time to really look at the walls of the entrance. The shimmering silver embedded into the walls acts as small mirrors bouncing light all around lighting up the way to my quiet place. I had never taken the time to really look around as by now I would be running short on air but today I don’t seem to have that issue. I hope whoever is waiting is a friend and not foe, well how much of a foe could they be they helped me out by keeping me from causing harm to myself. Way too soon for my likening, I break the surface of the pool inside my cave. Looking around I see the things I keep here. There’s my blanket and pictures I keep here how is this possible.
Climbing out of the pool dripping water all over the place I see my campfire ring asking the magic around me to light the flame it does. Stripping out of my clothes I hang them near the fire to dry. Wrapping in the first blanket my fathers bought me. Bringing it to my nose sniffing smelling my family my heart breaks as tears fall from my eyes. Will I ever get home to my family? What happens now that I am mated and marked? Curling into my self crying huge ugly tears. “dear little one all is well” the sweet voice says startling me. Snapping my eyes around looking for whoever when a small light comes from the back of the cave growing bigger as it gets closer. All too soon, a tall women in shades of silver-white, and blues stand in front of me. Her long flowy dress covers the floor behind her the ends dangling into the water behind her.
“don’t fret little one I am only here to help. I have watched you your whole life but only now can I talk to you. I know it's not much but I pulled what I could here in this time from yours to help you center yourself again. I have seen the flow of water and time and I can't find the right stream as they keep changing something here is altering tomorrow.” she tells me as she slowly takes a seat across from me. The water from the pool seems to flow over her dress and around her. “who are you?” I bark out sounding stronger than I feel right now. A soft giggle leaves her lips before she looks up again her aqua eyes glow with a soft purple “oh silly me I have forgotten my manners young lady alpha I am Sinnann a water spirit in charge of this pool. I have lived here since its creation to protect the lake and cave. I have watched you all your life from the moment you first entered this cave at five. I do understand your forgetting about me I am not as strong in your time as I am here in this time.”
“wait can you send me home to my time I mean you brought my things here could you send me home?” hope now rising but just as fast fell looking at the sadness in her eyes. “sorry, child, I am not strong enough to send you through time I wish I could. But even if I could I wouldn't yet you must find the witch who threatens us all. If she wins this battle with you the future you have grown to love will be gone and hell on earth will begin. I cant send you home but I can help you with your magic and get in touch with your fae side more. Before today I had no clue you are of the royal line like your Sharon. I can see her light clear even at this distance. But in your time it's fading her magic is leaving her.” Sad dripping off her in waves making me want to ask about my family but something stops me. “how do I stop her and save everyone? Will I get some time with my mate before I have to leave him behind?” my heart breaking at leaving Rhett behind. “my dear you are mated to two strong men one a lot stronger than the other. You, my dear needed two mates to rule both your pack and help watch over everyone. You will never be without the young dragon lord if I can help it. You were paired to help keep all races safe from the injustice you felt your whole life.” my chest clenching in pain at my past as a few fish and water appear in front of me. “eat while I seal the cave up as much as I glad you meet your mate he will be no help with your magic. You need to pull your own magic not pull from his as well.”
“what?”
