The room was silent for a long time when the door opens it was an older lady I have never seen before. “alpha sparks I come to tell you all is well the path you are on will bring you home do not stay now if you do you will lose it all. You are needed here and there your heart binds the spells your bonds will carry you across time. But you have to give up the one bond you have always wanted to have the bond again. The choice is yours lose it now to keep it forever or keep it now to lose it all.” she leaves again. Not staying around to answer the five million questions I now have. What path? What do I have to lose? Why do I have to lose? Why do I have to choose?
Jumping up to rush after her when a wave of dizziness washes over me. Rhett and Mia are fast to catch me. “when will it be born? Here or there and who are the fire keeps brother?” “Mia stops and she's just now out of her heat so six moons or so.” “Ummm I am right here and what is a firekeeper?” “oh, my fire did you not tell her about babies dummy.” Mia gasps letting out a warning growl and shaking the house Mia stops. “not the time or place Mia read the room.” stopping she looks around “oh well I’m sorry. So what are we talking about? You should have mother come down and speak with our mate.” Mia says backing away to sit down. “she's a lot huh?” I link “I heard that” she groaned. “fox thing” she pointed to herself now I have more questions and no time to ask them.
“so about the right path and all do you know if the covens will help?” I ask looking around alpha Adam nods his head “a few will be here tonight I thought I could offer you a room downstairs to have while we try and get all this taken care of. I can have someone show you there.”
Heading down to a room to call ours for the time being I am holding onto Rhett's hand as my life depends on it. I don’t know if he thinks I am scared of the dark hallway we are walking down or the fact we are going further into the earth. What he does not know is I know these halls like the back of my hand. We are currently on the floor between the alpha floor and the ground floor. There is a false floor between the two floors. The pack knows what door to open to go down to the right floors. Why? Well, safety. So when you first come down the stairs you come to the floor with doors and in my time elevators. They are all locked unless your thumb is in the system. What is only pack secret is there is a thumb scanner in the button for the elevation. There is only one button so everyone has to push it. Then there are four doors. Each to a set of stairs. One down to the alpha and beta floor. One to the holding cells. one to a false floor where they get stuck once the door shuts you can't find it again. And the last one is down to the gamma and delta floor. You have to walk through their common area to the door to the lower levels. No, it's not the dark that has me clinging to Rhett its the feeling I have to lose him to have him. The line you have to give up your bond to have your bond. Does this mean I have to lose Rhett somehow?
When we finally get to the floors that are not a maze I look around as that was too simple nothing like how I am used to. The house is not as big so that may be it. “you know alpha Adam you could ask your fire elemental and earth to create lanterns along the walkway they can create and every flame to stay in a bowl lantern. They dim and brighten as people walk by almost as you do in the suites.” “what? Do you know how many candles that would be? We already go through enough thank goodness for the fat off the animals at butchering for the candles.” he shrugs “no I mean the fire elemental can create a lighting system in the halls and on the floors. I don’t know how but ya and if what I know is happening soon you need to get on that now or the pack house won't have lights.”
With a nod he links someone as we walk. “they are looking into it now how do you know they can do that?” “I’ve seen it” was my only answer as we stop in front of a door. It's a door I know. Mary from the kitchen lives here or will live here. This is where Jordan and I first stayed when we were brought to the pack. It was Mary who helped me get a job in the kitchen when I refused handouts for myself and Jordan. It was in this room that miss Ellen came and collected Jordan and me to meet with the alpha and Lune. The men that I now call dad and father. The men who shaped me into who I am now. The men that have seen me for more than the kitchen staff love me with all of them and I love them so much it hurts to think I might never see them again. They are the first men in my life to see me as a person and not a thing or object. And if the memories I have are true if I don’t fix this I won't have that love and support to go back to I will be going back to hell as Kane's property.
