After my heat finally passed we head back to the shadow pack to see if any of the elemental wolves would be willing to help me find a way to freeze the lake and keep it frozen. If I can magically freeze the lake and everything in it then maybe I can find a way to unfreeze it at the right time. But how would I do that and how much magic would it take? With the fairy, grove barrier closed the wild magic is less. Not a lot less but when you had the bare minimum for so long and then get filled up you know when the levels drop. The others will start to feel it later probably a lot later in life even generations later.
I also need a way to have the spell broken by witches and a witch fair hybrid who does not have access full access to wild magic. How do I explain that I am trying to find a way to travel back into the future where I am from without telling them things that could affect the future I already have messed things up I don’t want to mess up more. Rhett does not like my idea one bit to him it's like I would be killing myself and how would he live knowing that? Many things are going on that I have no clue how to process myself. Then there's he sent an ice flame to his parents that I just had my heat. I wanted to slap him silly as I know there are no dragons in my time and I plan to be back in my time before I am even showing if I was carrying a pup. A pup won't keep me here why would he tell his parents when they will never meet the pup? It's cruel.
Storming to the border I feel hot and pissed off. When I feel a sting in my ass did I stop and turn around? Behind me is a trail of burnt or burning underbrush and scorched trees. “I know you're mad and I should have talked to you first but could you maybe not burn the world down cause your mad.” dropping my shoulders “I didn’t mean to” “I know you have been a little unhinged since the other night.” pulling me to him. Taking a few minutes to collect myself before we start again. I hate this walking flying everywhere. I had gotten used to having my truck or my horse all the time. I love running as my wolf but running on horseback is a different kind of high. It's the closest I can run as fast as my wolf in my human form to feel the wind on my skin like I do through my fur is amazing.
Meeting us at the border was alpha Adam stone. I am trying hard not to hate him but he does make it hard. “greetings young lord Rhett what can I do for you today?” huffing at the lack of respect yet again. “Ashley wanted to speak to some of the elementals still on this side of the veil.” “Ashley is standing right fucking here and can talk for her fucking self” I growl out. “such language you have if I were you I would watch my tongue around your betters girl.” he laughs out. That’s it I have had it. “you know what as alpha heir of the green lake pack I Ashley sparks challenge you alpha Adam stone for your title and pack.” Rhett grabs at me as I push him back knocking him down. I have had enough of these men. When the alpha just laughs I smirk I know the stone pack law better than he does I guess even if he did write it. “declaration is one of the stones lines of success. You never back out of a challenge. To back away is to show fear and cowardliness. To turn and run tale you also strip yourself of title pack and family. So alpha are you fighting for your pack or walking away like the coward you are.” I growl knowing my eyes are shining my wolf is ready for a fight. His wolf answers as he bulks at my words.
Standing his ground puffing his chest “when” he growls his fangs slipping in his anger. Good, he's finally seeing the threat I am. “now here these wolves stand witness and can call on your pack to watch but if you step out of this circle of oaks then you forfeit.” grabbing the sleeves of the dress when I hear the alpha say “human form only.” I nod and rip the sleeves off. Tucking the skirt between my legs to create pants and keep the stupid thing against my legs so it's harder for him to use as a leash. Stretching I start to head to the center of the circle. Rhett grabs my arm. “you don’t have to do this think about the baby” growling “first there's no proof I have a pup in me two women can fight while pregnant hell the women in the pack sometimes train clear up until the pup is coming out don’t tell me what I can or can't do mister you do not own me. I am an alpha I can and will stand on my own I don’t need you. I want you don’t get it confused.” I yank my arm away and head to the center and wait.
A few minutes later some of his men appear and he turns with a cocky grin that I give him back. “so you accept my challenge alpha Adam stone of the shadow pack?” “I do but the pack and alpha you speak of do not exist so you have no grounds to challenge me for my pack,” he smirks. Smirking back. “no wolf is above or below the alpha when a challenge is made and accepted. At the time of a challenge, the alpha title is stripped of one or both wolves leaving it a fight of self only no added alpha gifts will help.” his eyes widen as his beta starts talking to another guy. “look you can try and use your laws against me but when my father took over as alpha he and alpha stone created the green lake pack to run and mimic the shadow pack. You do not have a pack law I don’t know but I know pack laws you don’t and won't for a long time. So are you cursing your line and running or are you fighting?”
