The past month has gone by without incident. I was in the barn helping a cow drop a calf when I got a link telling me there was a she-wolf at the border demanding to be let past. She said her name is Mary JOPHNSON. Letting them know it was fine to let her on but for someone to stay with her. I then link Betty letting her know Mary was close and to also remind her she has a home here and never has to leave. Thanking me she cut the link. I then linked tom to let him know I would be hunting and make sure Mary does not force Betty to leave. Once the bull was born I checked him and tagged him to stay intact. He had a good bloodline and great build already. Then I took off out the back of the barn shifting and taking off to the back woods.
I know its childish but Mary hurt me when she left. So I refuse to see her while she is here. I will respect that she is Betty and Michael's daughter but she no longer bares the title of friend. Deciding we didn’t need any meat right now due to just butchering four cows and five hogs. Changing directions I head to my cave. Still my favorite place to go when I just need some time. Climbing into the small cave that once was bigger. Getting turned so that I am facing the entrance. The brush covering the entrance helping to hide me. I know I should have stayed awake but once I layer down I just let myself relax for a little while. The pack is being taken care of and if I am needed then they can always link me.
Why had I not gone into the mountains and hunted down a bear. That would have been more fun then waking up to my name being cursed in the woods by a voice I never wanted to hear again. Listening to her stomp around yelling at me making bite my tongue to stop from growling. She has forgotten where this cave is but knows its in this area. She couldn’t come out here in her wolf because she cant link me so she is yelling my name trying to get me to come out. If I could smell I would have known before it happened but I was to busy trying to block her out I didn’t hear the threat. Mary’s scream of fear cut straight through me. Charging from my hiding spot I followed the sounds of struggling. Catching up to them I can he is more concerned with Mary to pay attention around him. Growling deep I see his back stiffen. Turning around he yanks Mary close to him. She glares at me while I ignore her. “oh I’m sorry man but this pretty little thing is taken ain't ya honey?” rubbing himself against her.looking at the way he is holding her looking around I notice the wind blowing to the west. Well time to get even with Mary a little. Straightening I give a wolfy grin turn and walk away. This is either the best or worse idea I have had to date. He can either drop Mary and attack me from behind, or he will go on his way believing I don’t care one way or another. The whole time Mary is screaming at me about how much she hates me for leaving her. Oh I left her that's rich coming from the one who ran away for no reason. Shrugging it off I disappear into the shadows.
Like I thought he turned and started pulling her away again. This time I followed until I found he had cornered himself and didn’t even know it. Smirking I shoot out grabbing his shoulder yanking him away from Mary. She goes sailing into a near by tree. She might be hurt but shes alive so that will have to do. I hear her groan. Rolling to the ground tasting his blood. A desire to ride him of breathing took over and I begin attacking him. In wolf form I am so much bigger than he is. Tearing his flesh from his bones covering us both in his blood. Not giving him a chance to shift before I took his life. Breathing hard I shift spinning on her “what do you think you are doing?” I roar out. “me? Me? What was I thinking? Well I was thinking you got my father killed then gave my title to some one else then instead of facing me like a man you run off to the woods to hide.” growling st her I turn shift and head back to the packhouse. Linking for the door to be open and my room as well Tim linked back he was on it. Leaving Mary behind had been hard for some reason but I was to made to think about it. Because of her I had to save her and kill some rogue when I was trying to get some peaceful alone time.
Making it to my room I shift slamming the door as soon as I’m in human form. Stomping to the dresser I grab trousers and shirt. Slipping my trousers on I head out to the showers to get the blood off of me. Once clean I storm back into the house going to the study. I have orders I can go over and a list of supplies that need ordered from town. I also need to send tom to the back for everyone's salary. I also wanted to add fabrics and clothes for the waters. The pups need supplies for school as well. We make and have most things they will need but there are a few things we need to order from town like the readers they will need.. the pack house has started to build a good amount of books for everyone to read. John is making plans with Ben to build a library.
