Chapter 40
Daniel pov
After the party, we head home. Carrying Jordan as he has fallen asleep. Isaac and Anthony never returned to the gathering nor did Sharon. Halfway back I notice Ashley is lagging behind, so I had Jordan to Noah who smiles at me. When I look back at ash he sees her looking tired and smirks knowing I’m about to carry her the rest of the way. Walking back to her I scoop her up making her squeal a little. She looks up at me and smiles before nuzzling into me. When we get to the cabin we lay them down in their beds. Noah got Jordan changed but I just left ash in her dress. I woke her and told her to get changed but she just waved me off so I covered her kissed the top of her head. Heading to our room I strip and get ready for bed. Climbing in bed getting comfy when Noah makes his way in. He just cuddled up to me when I feel a huge power spike explode covering the whole area. Jumping up I look to Noah “what was that?” we both say at the same time. Rushing to get dressed as Noah rushes to ash’s room to wake her but she was already heading to our room. We ask her to watch her brother while we head into the packhouse and find out what happened.
Making it to the king's office we find everyone there “did you feel it too?” I asked as I came through the door. They all nod when Bridget skips in “nothing to worry about right now and it's nothing bad just go to bed and when Isaac, Anthony, and Sharon wake up we will have a meeting. The marking took a toll on them.” we all stare at her like she has three heads but she just shoos us all away. Bridget had given us no reason not to trust her so if she says all is good then it is good. Taking Noah's hand we head back still just as confused. While walking back to the cabin Bridget catches up with us “you will be starting Ashley's training soon right?” she asks us and we nod knowing that she will start training on Sunday since we still have to go shopping for things tomorrow for training and school. “good. She is going to make a great alpha one day. I know most girls get their wolves at 16 but Ashley will get hers at 13 she and Jordan are special. They have a little fae blood in them from their mother's side. It has been dominant for generations but with the freeing of the packs and allowing them to train she will gain her magic. Though not as strong as it should be she will have some I already asked Bron to start training her so when it manifests she will have control. As for Jordan he will have extra skills in fighting but no magic, just will be enhanced.” she says like its no big deal but both Noah and I are stopped in our tracks just staring at her like she has lost her mind. “oh don’t look like that her magic will help with running the pack I just don’t know how yet. As it could still change we still have a threat to the pack out there, and none of us know where to look. I have tried to find something on the internet but these people are ghosts even Sharon told me she had never seen a computer or phone where she was so we are still flying blind.” this has me worried about how can a group like what Sharon described be ghosts. We nod and start walking again. “I’m crashing on your couch tonight too tired to walk back,” she says as she runs inside heading to our room grabbing the soft fuzzy blanket off the bed and a pillow. She then grabs one of Noah's shirts and heads back out to change and make herself comfy on the couch. “she is going to spend a lot of time in our rooms when we build the new packhouse.” I say as we walk into our room Noah just laughs. Crawling back in bed ash pokes her head in with Jordan “is everything okay?” she asks I motion for them to come over and they crawl in between us. “Bridget said everything will be fine. Though we will have to talk with you in the morning with Bridget before we go shopping.” I tell her as I push her hair behind her ear giving her a warm smile. She rolls snuggling close to Noah as Jordan snuggles up against me. Looking over them at Noah my heart is soaring this is our family our future and I love it.
Jordan kicking me in the face woke me with a start. Jumping up out of bed caused Noah to jerk away startling ash who kicked out knocking Noah off the bed. The only one still asleep is Jordan. As Noah starts to get up rubbing his head Bridget comes through the door “could you guys be any louder I was sleeping?” she grumbles “hey blame daddy he scared me awake and made me kick dad who fell off the bed.” ash grumbles her self sleep still in her eyes “hey don’t blame me blame the monster who kicked me in the face.” I grumble rubbing my cheek and we all look at said monster still fast asleep. “I feel sorry for his future mate,” ash says as she gets up and heads to her room. Looking at the clock we are awake an hour earlier than planned. Looking back at the sleeping 2 yr old I shake my head and head to make coffee. Hollering to ash to see if she's hungry and wanting hot cocoa she yells back she does. Noah heads to Jordan's room to get him clean clothes as I go and start breakfast for us all. I get Jordan's sipper down that looks like our mugs and I make three coffees and two hot cocos Jordan likes to have his go-go juice like us. That kid makes me smile so much. I make scrambled eggs with cheese bacon and toast for us. Just as I finish making it Jordan fly's in wrapping his tiny arms around my leg. “daddy daddy” he sings looking down I smile at him then lean down and scoop him up “you hungry little man and where his dad?” I ask he points to the back of the cabin as he nods his head. Setting him in his chair as everyone comes in “coffee” Bridget mumbles as she drops down in the chair. ash mimicking her flawlessly if I didn’t know better I would think they are related. “ash I need to tell you a few things but I need you to keep to between us and Bronwyn okay?” Bridget says to her looking at her with I’m very serious Bridget face. Ash’s eyes go wide and she nods I can see fear cross her face “it's nothing bad sweetie just important okay.” I tell her she nods and listens to what Bridget has to tell her I watch as many emotions cross her face while Bridget talks to her. I can see the gears working in her head and I know that from the years in the green lake pack under the rule of the Greene's what she might be thinking. “this changes nothing ash you are still future alpha of green lake and our daughter.” I state leaving no room for her to argue. looking between the three of us she sees the truth in everything said here and accepts what is being said and agrees to the extra training and asks if she could start after we get back from shopping tonight. Her reason is that if she is to be alpha and have magic she needs to make sure she is ready for them both. We agree and I link kade to let him know ash wants to start training tonight he lets me know he will get it set up and have the information about what time and who will be head trainer tonight when we get back. With that taken care of, we finish breakfast get dressed and head to town
