its been two months and my nose still is not fixed. If anything I feel its worse. And to top it all off Mary left. I cant believe she never said good bye. Days go by and I miss my best friend. I know I have friends I can talk to but its not the same. With Mary gone I feel like a part of me is missing. Every day Edith shows up trying to convince me that she is my mate. No matter how many times I tell her I know shes not my mate she lust wont listen.
Hunting down beta Michael to ask him when Mary will be coming back. Took a while but I finally found him at the edge of our land. “beta Michael can I ask you about Mary?” looking at me he smiles “sure what do you want to know?” “well sir where did she go? Why did she leave? And why didn’t she tell me she was leaving?” spitting out my questions. “well son I don’t know where she went just know it was for more school to be a teacher. When she left all she said was she didn’t have anything keeping her here anymore. Cant say for sure what that meant. And for the rest I have no clue.” sighing out. “if you hear anything from her would you please let me know I miss her something terrible.” he nods and I head off to train with the others. We have had an increase in attacks from lone wolves wanting what we have.
Feeding the calf that's mother rejected her I hear Edith heading my way. Trying to get the calf to start walking so we can hide. But shes just not getting the message. “Jesse where are you?” ducking down low hoping she doesn't find me. Luck is not on my side. “there you are my love.” something in me snaps “for the last time Edith you are not my mate. Not one of the mate tell tell signs have been there. So just stop it right now. If you cant stop then don’t come back.” I yell at her I know I shouldn't have but I have been on edge lately and I don’t. know why. “is that how you want to do this Jesse huh? “ she ask looking at me with an evil glint in her eye. “yes I want you to stop this and for another thing why hasn’t the potion worked I still cant smell?” growling as I ask her.
Laughing her eyes seem to go black. “and now you will never get it back. You are cursed to never smell again. I was the only one who could help you. You have crossed the wrong witch Jesse Cambell” she sneers at me. I reach for her but she disappears. Roaring out so loud I feel the earth tremble under my feet. Soon wolves are rushing to me father and beta Michael not far behind. “son what happened?” turning towards him I know my wolf has bleed out. “Edith took my sense of smell from me. She was trying to get me to chose her as my mate. When I wouldn't she took my nose away.” I yell in anger. Pacing the barn. Father looks to tom and orders him to bring the frost here now. Several men follow behind him.
“Jesse calm down we will get this fixed. The frost will fix this or they wont be leaving here.” father growls out just as mad as me. Tim soon came into the barn “alpha tom linked me saying that when he got to the frost he found Mr. And Mrs. Frost dead along with their son. The girl is missing and so is her things.” both of us roaring out in anger. “find me a witch any witch that can break this now!” I demand. Wolves jumping and running out of the barn. “Jesse calm yourself we will figure this out. Why don’t you go have a rest.” growling at my father only to have him growl at me back.
Stomping out of the barn first heading to the house. Looking around I change direction heading to the cave in the woods. Shifting I take off running like there is no tomorrow. Finding my small hidden cave I crawl in. Whimpering to myself. All my life i took for granted my sense of smell. Now I don’t know if I will ever smell again. I feel like broken. How can I be the alpha when I cant smell. I will talk to father about choosing another to take over for him. I wont be able to protect my pack not like this.
I will do everything I can to protect my pack so if that is to step aside then I will. With that I let my body relax and drift off to sleep. Waking to the sounds of wolves. Crawling out to get a look at them. Once I see them I know they are rogues heading toward the pack. Linking father I let him know there are rogues coming. Following them closer. If my nose had been working I would have smelled the wolf to my left. It was like they knew I couldn’t smell making me think Edith is behind this. Fighting with the big rogue we are tearing int each other. Soon we are both covered in blood. finally getting the upper hand I close my jaws around his neck. Biting down hard and shaking my head until I hear a snap. A second wolf jumps my back tearing into me. Thinking this is the end.
Father came out of no where. Snapping at the wolf on my back. Bucking him off we both go for the wolf. A loud screaming is heard followed by the sound of a gun shoot. My chest feels like its ripping in half. Feeling my farther in my head I open the link. “son I pass the alphaship to you. Take care of our family.” before I can say anything I feel the snap of his bond and a rush of power courses through me. Roaring out I charge forward seeing red. The next thing I remember I am waking up in my bed my head spinning as memory's flood my mind.
