Heading into town I let Addie know on the way back I needed to stop at the feed store. The mention of babies has her going awe. Driving the 45 minutes to the dress shop Addie picked out. I have decided Addie is using me as a test run for her 18th birthday in four years.you would think the age gap odd for best friends but in all honestly we are emotionally pretty close in age. She was born in a pack that was hiding I was born in a not the friendliest pack. Both grown and young at the same time. Our pack is full of wolves suffering from ptsd mostly. My father Daniel and I grew up in similar packs but my dad Noah grew up in a good pack. One of love and acceptance. The kings grew up the best pack a strong pack. A pack the rest of the packs now use as a model for running a pack. They are from the shadow pack. My father Daniel was born and raided in the blood moon pack. Queen aria was born to the alpha of the royal moon beam pack. Lost to everyone thought dead. Raised in the blood moon pack as a slave. We all had things to over come.
My fathers have rebuilt this pack into one of the best healing and medical packs this side of the country. Our farm lands help to feed the university and bring income to the packs. My father set up the companies with the help of the kings so he made them the CEO's of the farms. All the money the pack makes goes to the kings and queen who then send out pay checks to all the wolves working for those companies. My parents receive paychecks as well. This is a practice I plan to keep. I want to be an alpha they look up to for what I did not what I have. Addie will make sure we all have food to eat. I am gonna miss this place when I move to the university. Being only a thirty minute drive from the university I had the option to live at home and go in every day or live in the dorms like everyone else. I opted to be like everyone else. This will be my last years as a future alpha. My father is getting older and he and my dad didn’t find each other until in their late twenties. I want to come home after getting my degrees and take over fully and send my parents on a long deserved vacation., let them be young wolves all over again. Pulling up to the shop there is a huge puffy bubble gum pink fluff in the window. “nope I am not wearing something like that you have lost it this time.”
“oh that was great. I wasn’t sure it would work.” she laughs out. Looking over I see she has her phone out recording me. Flipping her off I turn the truck off and get out. Shes lucky I love her. Walking in I see a couple of she-wolves from my squad. “Jen, Mel. What are y'all doing here?” “Addie called last week bet us two hundred you wouldn't have a dress by today. Can yo guess who won?” “that should teach you to bet against your future beta.” Addie says before she sprints to the back of the store. “so whats the budget look like ash?” “I don’t know twenty?” I shrug and the whole store goes silent. Looking around at the faces of horror all staring at me “what?”
“ignore her she would wear jeans and boots tomorrow if I let her. I am thinking emerald green and silver of course.” they all giggle and I plop down in a chair weight the options if I do a runner right now. Shaking my head if I stay I have some say in the dress if I take off I have no say in what she puts me in. I shudder no thanks ill stick it out. They are throwing words around like mill or till or truffle ooh truffles. “earth to Ashley” Addie yells breaking me out of my thoughts. “huh?” I ask as I look up into her annoyed face. Yep I am her trial run. Shes just so full of excitement and her sadness. We both know for the next four or more years I wont be home often. And she cont come to the university until shes 18. with the way we all have just let her vent it out be the zilla she is right now. Its her way of working through it on top of getting boobs.
Coming towards me with a emerald green and silver shiny sun dress. The top looks fitted flaring out at the waist down to about the knee. The bottom lined in silver knots along the bottom. They match the knots covering my back where my wings are. Looking up at her shes smiling like a fox. “you know if I hadn't seen your sisters wolf I would think you were a fox” “try it on go on” she yells “when did you get this made?” I ask standing up. “I had it started just after you8r last birthday>” she says shoving it in my arms. The back swoops low to fully exposes my back making wearing a bra out of the question. Taking it to the changing room I put it on and it just slides against me like a second skin. Running my hands down the smooth fabric as it moves with my skin as I breath. What is this wonderful fabric. I want my whole room made of this.
Walking back out the girls jaws hit the floor. “the only thing ruining this is the dirt on your cheek.” Addie says. I couldn’t stop from laughing. Glaring at me she points to the dressing room. Going back to change I hear her giving out orders for their dresses and shoes. When I hear he shhhhh them. “what was that Adeline? I ask. “shut up and nothing” “okay spa time. Lets get you hairless and soft.”
