Chapter 58
Kade pov
I was so nervous the whole time we were doing the ceremony. When aria called Daniel up to make him alpha of the green lake pack I was so proud of him. Then when the warrior claimed him I was overjoyed. Looking at Kari I see tears in her eyes. Looking at me we both smile and nod. James pulls me close whispering in my ear “good he deserves to be happy too” then bites my ear. Zane slides close “hundred says he's he's marked by breakfast?” he says to us “your on but he will be marked before the end of this party” James shoots back “I’m in and you both wrong Dan is going to wait so he won't be marked tonight at all,” I say like I know something but I would be surprised if they don’t mark each other right away.
When it's all over I watch Dan walk through the crowd I know who he is looking for. I'm so happy for him as I watch him meet his mate who looks to be happy to meet Dan too. Watching just to make sure he does not hurt my brother he's had enough of that to last him two lifetimes. Alpha white walks up to him with a little she-wolf. I saw her talking to Dan just a bit ago and it looked like she left him confused. Brendon and Damien walk up to us “hey ain’t that the little hacker chick?” Damien asks and it clicks as to why I thought she looked familiar. “I was just wondering where I saw her before?” James says and I nod “she seems to know alpha white well.” Zane says “probably being a hacker she probably works closely with the alpha and Luna. If we had a hacker I would have them working with you guys all the time.” Damien says.
Once the party was over and it was confirmed James was out three hundred dollars. Now it's between Zane and me. I'm sure I will be winning this one since Dan and I still have not learned his name. I can wait till tomorrow to meet him. Tonight would already be busy enough for Dan. First, he just was made an alpha and so he will be meeting and talking with a lot of them tonight and he also found his mate. I bet his stress levels are high right now. I just want to crawl in bed I'm so beat. Making our way to the room stumbling here and there we may have had a little too much to drink and the walls keep attacking while the floor is trying to trip us and don’t get me started on those evil stairs. If I wasn’t a wolf I would have their bite marks up and down my legs for weeks. Once our door is shut we are stripping while trying to make it our bed. Letting blackness take me before I fully hit the bed.
Damien pov
The alarm woke me up before the sun. I don’t want to get up and do morning patrol. Stretching as I wake up I take a deep breath of ozone and fire. I sniff again and I smell Brendon's rain and fresh grass and aria peaches and cream but now I smell ozone and fire as well. Turning my head I then notice it's coming from aria. I start to wonder when it hits me duh why would her scent change. “Brendon” I link him being an alpha and king now we can force a link and wake someone or break their block. He doesn't respond so I try again being a little louder “BRENDON” he hums so I know he's starting to wake up but I don’t want him to wake aria up “shhhhh. Do be too loud but wake up” “okay what's up man I didn’t sign up for early patrol you did” he grumbles back trying not to laugh cause he sounds like a kid it's too cute. “take a big whiff tell me what you smell,” I tell him not wanting to tell him what I smell in case I'm wrong. “why?” he asks I tell him to just do it and I hear him take a deep breath “chocolate oranges preach and cream ozone and fire. Wait ozone and fire was someone in here?” he rushes out I see him start to move to get up. “no and don’t wake aria but smell again and tell me where the smell is coming from.” I tell him smirking to myself “ugh why did you wake me up for this game of guess the smell and where it came from if you already know jerk.” he is one of those I don’t function without coffee people. Okay so all three of us are that kind of person. But this morning I don’t need coffee I have joy and excitement running in my veins. I just wait for Brendon to smell the room. I’ve been standing in the doorway of the bathroom watching him while I brush my teeth and getting him to smell the room. His eyes shoot open wide as he stares at aria then looks for me with a nudge of his head I nod that I smelled the same things “oh my goddess oh my goddess do we tell her when do we tell her.” Brendon is rambling off in my head once he stops I suggest we wait for a week and see if she finds out her self I remember the stories dad told me about how he told mom about me and she was so upset that he knew first that with her next two pregnancies he let her figure it out her self.
He nods in agreement. “go back to sleep babe ill see you both at breakfast” I link him kissing him before I head out. One last look back I see him pull her into him. Man, I wanna just crawl back in there with them. With that in mind, I head out for my patrol so breakfast will come faster. And that's the thing about the time it never does what you want it to do. I ran the border due to it being the longest track for patrol that we have we always have two people run it at a time going opposite directions staggering pairs every hour so there is usually someone running at every section of the border at any given time. Usually, once you make it around your shift is over. For me this morning I ran it's in half the time just too excited I tell myself. Finishing my second time around it's finally breakfast time. I head in and shower in the locker room before heading to find my mates.
