Chapter 63
Zane pov
After forgetting my Kari in the office I know I have a lot to make up for after our pup is born. Kari is doing amazing like she made to have pups. I know she's in pain but she's not nearly as mean as the women I saw in the videos I watched. She did happen to break my hand a couple of times thank goodness for wolf healing. Labor is taking a lot out of her and it's progressing slowly. After breaking my hand for the third time we decided that maybe some pain medication would be helpful. Watching them shove that needle in her spine had me seeing dots and sweating hard. I had to take a seat with my head between my legs for a few minutes.
Soon Kari is sleeping as the machine makes so many spikes and beeps, she can't feel any of the contractions and is napping. Laying my head down on the bed next to her while I hold her hand. I can't wait for our little one to be here with us. Over the last seven months, I have found that I have been growing more and more attached to the little peanut growing inside my wonderful mate. The doctor comes in again and checks on Kari's progress. With a smile, she tells me it's time to wait for my sleeping beauty up and get ready to push. Gently waking her up letting her know it's time to start pushing. There is a silent communication between her and Dr. Sands as he looks over the blanket at Kari and tells her what to do.
It feels like she's been pushing forever when there is a loud cry and Kari falls back in the bed breathing hard. My head looks from her to the doctor in anticipation. “conflagrations it's a girl.” my heart both drops and soars at the same time. All I can see are horny teenage wolves sniffing around my little girl. When Dr sands place this tiny bundle in my arms my heart melts looking at her. She looks just like Kari. Looking at Kari smiling brightly at her she reaches out her arms wanting to hold our daughter. Soon as she's settled in Kari's arms her tiny little eyes open revealing bright blue eyes. I can't help but stare at my world right here in front of me.
The door is pushed open with a little humph. Looking over I see Jordan falling into the room. Confused I walked over to him helping him up. He smiles up at me “where is your dad's, little man?” I ask him he points behind him and walks over to Kari and the baby. Looking her in the eyes Jordan tries climbing up on the bed. Noah makes it to the door as Kari helped Jordan up all the way. Before any of us can say anything Jordan looks down at my daughter and says “mine” then takes her little hand in his. We all freeze not knowing what is happening but as I watch Jordan I see nothing but love in his eyes for her. Looking at Noah he shrugs before his eyes glaze over. Daniel soon is at the door looking at the scene in front of us. Kari is just smiling at the two pups. He walks over and smiles at my little girl as he talks to Jordan getting his attention. Telling him it's time to go and let them sleep. Daniel picks Jordan up and turns to walk away. My baby starts crying “wait daddy I have to tell her I will see hers later.” Jordan says as he wiggles in Daniels's arms. Putting him down I watch as Jordan touches her cheek and she calms down. “is has to go now baby but I will see you soon.” leaning down he kisses her cheek then turns back to Dan and lifts his arms to be picked back up. “daddy?” “what's the up little man?” “what's her name?” at that we all look to Kari and Zane who just stare at her. “we don’t know yet little man, but when we decide on her name you will be the first person we tell,” I tell him ruffling his hair. smiling at me he nods his head.
“Have you heard anything about aria yet?” I ask Daniel causing Kari to look up at him as well. He shakes his head. “I kinda was focused on Kari,” he tells me sheepishly. I nod knowing that if it was my sister having a baby at the same time as aria I would be all about my sister too. I just nod and smile at him. Noah walks up to him takes a sleepy-looking Jordan from him and kisses him on the cheek. “she's breathtaking Kari and Zane.” he tells us looking over at my world. I can't keep the smile off my face. “I’m gonna take this little monster home for a nap and wait for Ashley to get home she's gonna wanna come to see the babies.” Daniel kisses Noah back agreeing with him. “I’m gonna go check on the aria. I'll let her know Kari and baby are doing great and ill be back to let you know how she is.” Daniel says kissing Kari on the forehead “you did good sis. She looks just like you.” the love she smiles up at him before looking over at me nothing but love shining in her eyes. I barely notice Daniel leave as I walk over to my girls. As the door shuts we start talking about names trying to find just the right one.
We finally settle on a name when the alarms go off telling us there is a problem. My head snaps to the door as it opens one of the close warriors came to help move Kari and the baby down to the bunker under the hospital,. he let me know that aria is being taken down as we speak along with the royal babies. Kissing Kari on the lips and my baby on the forehead telling them both I love them I take off out the door before the medical center goes into lockdown. As I clear the medical center door I shift and head to the border.
