Growling out at the bitch and I know it would have been louder and more threatening if there had been sound. What she didn’t was for me to not be alone. She had been too caught up in looking down at me with the look I can only say I have seen in movies like the shining. She had been too caught up in her head to see the giant shadow that fell over her. Being human she didn’t have heightened senses as shifters do so she didn’t hear him walking up or smell him. When I saw his glowing golden green eyes look at me over her head I got a wicked smile of my own.
“What are you smiling at dog?” she sneers out at me. I didn’t answer I didn’t have to Rhett's deep threatening growl was enough for her eyes to grow as big as saucers. Grabbing her by the neck he lifts her off the ground. Squeezing her neck until she goes limp. Tossing her to the ground he looks down at me. “are you okay?” I nod and shake my head. I point to my leg so he can see I am hurt but he does not look at first frustrated I yell at him that he's being a dumb asshole from the planet asshole. And like I knew he didn’t hear anything. It's then he understands there is some kind of barrier here. I hear bones breaking and skin ripping the sounds of wet waste sloshing as it plops on the ground. This waste of skin and blood we shed when we shift breaks down as soon as it hits the ground soaking in.
Rhett's long thick black tail slides down the hole. Grabbing on I pull myself up on his tail as much as I could. I feel him pulling me out. The second he pulls me back through the barrier I feel my magic and wolf again. Laying back I let my healing take over as I link Rhett. “can you put me back down where that pit is I want to fill it in before someone else gets trapped.” “as you wish. We have to pick Allister up as well had he not rushed to me I wouldn't have found you.” smiling at his tone of what sounds like respect for my little familiar.
Landing back down he sets Janet's limp body on the ground as he waits for me to do what I can here. Kneeling I stick my hands into the dirt asking the elements to fill and seal this trap and to search out this area for others doing the same. Letting my concussions merge to the earth I find five more traps along this border of the shadow pack. All empty. Filling and sealing them making it so no one can dig in these six spots. Snapping back to myself when I was done I get up and stumbled over to Rhett as Allister drops to my shoulder. “let's take the trash someplace safe.” Rhett links me when I have a thought. Pacing back and forth. A Giant mirror? the lake can be a giant mirror. In my cave, she would have no magic there and would be stuck there until I set her free. What if? Would frozen work? I need to find out if I need time to test out a theory. I need her locked away and safe for now. “can you take us to the lake? If I lock her in my cave she won't be able to get out. There is one way in and out of the cave and it's at the bottom of the lake.”
Nodding he grabs her up and I climb up on him while Allister locks his tail around my neck. Taking almost an hour to get there Janet started waking once Rhett just squeezed her again. Landing on the lake shore. Looking at the lake putting my hand on the small jar around my neck sending my prayers to both Sinnann and Selene this works. Pulling vines to me and down to Janet tying her up. Asking the air to create a bubble around her head to keep her breathing. I walk into the lake dragging her behind me. The cool water greeted me like an old friend. I can feel Rhett worry as he paces the shoreline. Looking over my shoulder one last time before I dive under the water. Taking a few minutes for the water and air to regulate in my lungs.
Making my way to the cave entrance almost a hundred meters under the surface of the water. Finding the entrance I squeeze through. Pulling her in behind me I shoot to the surface. Climbing out I pull her up leaving her laying on the rocky ledge. Looking at the bare area. I can't let her die so let's see berries and a few veggie-type plants, please. The lake will give fish and water. Now let's see a small moss bed with a moss and vine blanket thing. And a small campfire that stays a low ember always. She can cook and stay warm with that okay this will work for how.
Waiting for her to wake up I sit and stare at her linking with Rhett and letting him know everything. This seems to ease his worry for me as he can't see me. Alpha-type men are all the same. When she starts to make noise telling me she's waking up. Turning her head to me she sneers. “let me go now bitch!” she demands. “actually I will let you go soon I am waiting for the last of the magic to be drained from you. Also just so you know the bottom of this pool is one hundred meters down. It's the only way in or out. The bottom of this pool will also be a very freezing twenty below freezing once I leave. If you manage to make it to the bottom it's too cold for you to survive. Once I figure out how to get us both back to our right time I will be back for you. Once back at the outright time I will be going to aunt Bronwyn and uncle Liam about you being removed from the school and I will ask for your action to be taken before the council the queen and my aunt Kari have been working on. I will also make sure that Sharon and Bronwyn strip you of your magic.”
“what do you mean aunts and uncle?” she swallows hard. Smirking I dive into the pool once halfway down I ask the vines to release her as I ask the waters to drop in temperature as I make my way out. Leaving the cave I ask the lake floor to close the entrance adding another layer of security. Nodding as I look at the now invisible entrance nodding I shoot to the surface.
