Chapter 108
“Paris, help me,” Shysie pleaded.
“You will be punished for killing a Stella,” Michael hissed, and sped over to rid Paris of any shaman necklace. Michael was careful not to touch Paris, knowing he will give Paris exstra strength if he did.
Paris chuckled at the gush of wind that Michael left behind. “I don’t need a shaman necklace. It appears I cannot be compelled.”
“Do you know how much danger you are putting all hunters and their half-blood offspring by walking around?” Michael questioned.
“I am older than most made vampires. For all they know, I am something like Shysie and Wynn,” Paris stated.
“Everyone knows you killed Stella and they want answers. Do you really think they can't put the puzzle together?” Michael spat. “You are putting Ann in danger.”
“How will they figure out that they can become day walkers from a half-blood?” Paris got serious. “Truly, what vampire will dare go near a hunter?” Paris challenged. “Talking about Ann. Where is she?”
“I am trying to find out, but she does not want to tell me unless I make her my queen so now I am torturing her,” Michael said, looking over at Shysie.
“Take her heart out,” Paris suggested.
“Then she will just kill another hunter,” Michael pointed out. “How is it that you have hunter abilities, but she does not?”
“Half-blood. She took the heart of a defenseless half-blood offspring of a hunter whereas I am carrying the heart of a pure-blood hunter,” Paris pointed out. “Well, I am off again. Good luck in finding Ann.”
“You know where she is, don’t you?” Michael questioned, thinking Paris won't just leave not knowing whether Ann was ok or not.
“I don’t, but she is no longer my concern,” Paris said and continued on his way.
Michael stood in front of Shysie with his arms crossed in front of his chest. “Fine,” Michael said, stepping forward towards Shysie, positioning his one hand on her chest and clawing his other hand into her chest, wrapping his hand around her heart, making her scream in agony.
Shysie was quick to shout out where she left Ann.
“If you are lying, I will finish the job,” Michael warned her and let go of her, leaving her new heart in place.
Shysie sighed, relieved when Michael left and knew that Ann will be dead by now. ‘I have to get the fuck out of here,’ Shysie thought and desperately hoped that someone will come walking into the Throne room. ‘Where the fuck is my brother?’ she wondered, knowing that Wynn will help her no matter what wrong she does.
“Help!” Shysie shouted over and over.
“Michael said we are not allowed to help you, so will you please stop your shouting,” Hannah said, walking into the vampire throne room.
“Please, you don’t have to help me, but will you please tell Wynn where I am?” Shysie pleaded.
“I guess I can do that for you,” Hannah said. “But please, just stop the yelling.”
“If you can’t find Wynn as a lycan or Andre to mind link him, please,” Shysie pleaded.
Hanna took a moment to look at Shysie, feeling sorry for her. Hannah ran into Deacon first. “Did you see Wynn? Can you mind link him?”
“Wynn cut us all out after his heart got broken,” Deacon said, explaining that there will be no finding Wynn for a long time.
“Michael is torturing Shysie,” Hannah informed Deacon.
“I am aware,” Deacon said, and walked into the vampire throne room.
“Deacon,” Shysie cried out. “Please help me.”
“Not a chance. Where is Michael?” Deacon stated his reason for being there.
“I told him where to find Ann,” Shysie cried. “Please release me,” Shysie pleaded.
“Promise?” Deacon asked, wondering why Shysie was still tied up if she gave Michael what he wanted.
“I promise I gave Michael the location where I left Ann,” Shysie promised.
Deacon walked over to where Shysie was bleeding herself to death on the queen’s throne and released the chains that held her down. Shysie wasted no time and sped off.
Deacon shook his head before leaving the vampire wing. ‘I guess with Michael occupied, I don’t have to worry about him noticing that Jessica and her family are gone.
Deacon went to the lycan wing to find Ondrink.
“Are you guys ready to leave?” Deacon asked, walking into a smaller living room where Ondrink, Soroya, Jovita, and Juno were waiting.
“Just waiting on Jessica,” Jovita said. “I told her we are going to take a little holiday. The moment she takes a nap, Ondrink will perform the spell,” Jovita explained.
“How long have you been waiting?” Deacon asked.
Jovita looked at the time on her wristwatch and realized that somehow Jessica must have found out what they were up to. “She found us out somehow, didn’t she?”
“Obviously,” Deacon sighed.
‘Where are you?’ Deacon mind linked Jessica.
‘I know what you guys are up to,’ Jessica mind linked him, hiding in Deacon’s room, still not calling it their room.
‘How did you find out?’ Deacon mind linked her.
‘I overheard my parents,’ Jessica mind linked.
‘Tell me where you are. Let us talk about it,’ Deacon pleaded.
‘They should leave without me,’ Jessica mind linked him stubbornly before cutting him out of her mind.
Deacon took his chances and went to his room to find Jessica.
“Please let me explain,” Deacon started when he walked into his room and found Jessica on the bed.
“What? That you wanted to wipe my bloody memory again?” Jessica spat and got off the bed.
“Not exactly.” Deacon grabbed her arm when she tried to walk past him.
“Let go of me,” she said furiously.
“I only want to protect you from monsters like Torvald,” Deacon explained.
“Then kill him,” Jessica spat and stormed off.
‘Jessica is on her way, but if Ondrink can’t put a spell over her, then leave without her,’ Deacon mind linked Juno.
‘Goodbye then. Take care of my daughter if we don’t manage to get her to come with us,’ Juno said, and blocked Deacon out as planned. No one but them knew where they were going. The arrangement was that only Ondrink will return to confirm if it was safe for them to come back into the supernatural world. Deacon knew he will always be able to feel Jessica and will know when something was wrong. Even though it pained him to let her go so far from him but her safety and well-being were more important to him than having her near.
Deacon returned to the wedding chapel just in time to hear Queen Amirah say, ‘I do.’
Everyone watched when Noah part shifted and claimed Queen Amirah, but when it was her turn, she froze.
“What is the matter? You can’t change your mind now,” Noah said under his breath.
“I think I am pregnant,” Queen Amirah whispered, looking around, panicked. “I tried to part shift, but there is a sharp pain in my belly,” she explained, familiar with the feeling.
“We will have our own children. Shift and claim me,” Noah demanded in a loud whisper.
“I will not give up this child. You can pretend to be its father, but I will not kill this child by shifting,” Queen Amirah whispered between her teeth.
“At least shift enough and pretend to claim me,” Noah suggested, as he really could not care whether she was pregnant or not.
Queen Amirah shifted just enough, turning her back to the guest so that it would appear as if she shifted enough before biting Noah on his exposed collarbone. Noah was quick to pull his shirt into place, followed by pulling his tuxedo into place.
Both of them turned to face the crowd, blood dripping over Queen Amirah’s white dress.
‘It seems no one knows any better,’ Noah mind link Queen Amirah.
‘I will claim you once this baby is born,’ Queen Amirah promised back in a mind link.
‘I know,’ Noah said, sure of himself and hoping that King Deacon won’t find out that Queen Amirah did not claim him.

When Paris left the castle, he knew he had to find a dead body and part burn it and leave it where he found Ann so that Michael will think her dead and won’t continue his search for her.
On his way to the nearest morgue, Paris slowed down to normal human speed when he sped past a woman in trouble.
“Let go of her,” Paris compelled the gang of men rough handling a woman. Before he knew what hit him, he felt a bullet hit his temple and fall to the ground. The gang of men ran off, leaving the screaming damsel in distress behind.
***
Paris woke up and realized that he was in the hospital. To the side of him was a woman that he didn’t recognize.
“You are awake!” the woman exclaimed and rushed off to go get a doctor before Paris could get a word out.
***
Shysie sped away from the higher council, feeding on whomever along the way to recover.
***
Deacon went to bed alone that night but was content, knowing that Jessica was safe.
***
Wynn ended up in a place that he liked, and decided to call it his home, finding it the perfect place to mend his broken heart.
***
Torvald was locked up, not knowing where he was with no one to help him.
***
Eero and Ami had a baby girl and, knowing what danger their daughter might be in if vampires find out that they can become day walkers by robbing her of her heart, they decided to disappear.
***
Ann, with no care in the world, was taking her usual walk on the beach with the sun setting on the sand when she walked past someone that knew who she was.
