Chapter 97

Everyone was gathered in the lycan throne room discussing a plan of action to find Jessica.

“What I don’t understand is why would Torvald release Jessica only to abduct her months later?” Wynn raised his opinion.

“It does not make sense, I agree,” Deacon said.

‘Jovita,’ hear Jessica’s mind link and looked at Deacon, who felt Jessica’s fear a split second before it went away again.

“Why is she mind linking you and not me?” Deacon questioned.

“It is a trap,” Juno said, having heard Jessica’s plead for help through Jovita.

“What does Torvald hope to achieve?” Deacon questioned, frustrated.

“What is your plan? Why did you compel me to abduct Jessica the moment I have her alone?” Michael spat.

“It took you long enough,” Torvald said. “You may go and tell them that if they want Jessica, they have to send only her parents.”

“What do you want with her parents?” Michael questioned, making his way out of the room that was part of a bigger mansion where Torvald has been hiding, using the human family residing there to drink from.

Because Michael was under a spell, he could not wait for an answer and sped off to the higher council around the corner.

Michael arrived at the higher council and at first sight of him, the lycan that spotted him first, mind linked Deacon. Deacon shared his mind with Wynn, who sped over to where Michael was.

“To the lycan throne room, now!” Wynn demanded.

Michael followed Wynn to the lycan throne room.

When Michael got to the throne room, Deacon grabbed him around his throat. “Where is she!”

Michael fought Deacon off with ease. “My brother sends me with a message; If you want, Jessica, send only Juno and Jovita.”

“Why?” Deacon growled.

“I don’t know. That is all he said,” Michael said. “My actions,” Michael tried to explain, but was unable to finish.

“We know. You are under a spell. We have known all this time but waited for Torvald's next move, not thinking it will end up like this,” Wynn explained, unknowingly setting Michael free from the spell.

“I think you confirming that you know that I am under a spell just set me free,” Michael said, feeling he can speak freely.

“Strange, Lauturi didn’t mention anything about the spell having an antidote,” Deacon said.

“What do we do now? We can’t just leave her and hope for the best,” Jovita said.

“What does he want with us in the first place?” Juno wondered.

“He wants me,” Jovita said.

“Why? Why would he want you?” Juno questioned.

“A century ago. Remember when he saved me from that compound?” Jovita reminded Juno, Deacon, and Wynn.

“Bloody hell. He never saved you. He was the one keeping you and all those rogue female lycans as sex slaves trying to impregnate you all,” Deacon choked, coming to the realization, shocking all of them as they all realized the truth.

“It was him all along,” Jovita said, remembering how she was obsessed and deeply in love with Torvald, but the moment Juno kissed her she snapped out of the spell. “I wasn’t truly in love with him. He used a spell,” Jovita said softly, staring blankly ahead as it all returned to her. To this day, she still had nightmares about it and could never understand why Torvald was the evil man doing all those bad things to her, but now it made sense to her.

FLASHBACK

Princess Jovita ran all day and finally came to rest near a pack that she was familiar with but has never heard of. All she knew was that her own pack had a long-standing alliance with the pack.

As soon as she came in contact with one of the members of the pack, she mind linked the woman, ‘hi, I am Jovita from Augusta pack, and seek shelter for the night.’

“You think you can just show up and say you are from a pack and think we are stupid enough to believe you?” the woman answered her, on guard.

‘Is it ok if I sleep in the shed? I will be gone by morning, I promise,’ Princess Jovita tried again.

“We make slaves out of rogues like you,” a voice came from behind and grabbed Princess Jovita by her fur, clutching a collar with a shocking mechanism around her neck.

The woman started to laugh. “Well played, let's get out of here before we get caught.”

Princess Jovita tried to bark for help, but the collar shocked her.

Obediently, she let them walk her on a leash. ‘If only I didn’t go rogue then I could have let my pack know that I am in danger,’ she thought.

After walking for an hour, they arrived at a car and Princess Jovita struggled against them, trying to shove her into the car. The man punched her hard against her head, making her moan that send an electric shock from the collar through her. Not liking the pain, she stopped fighting and got into the car.

Princess Jovita fell asleep and only woke up again when she got pulled out of the car, the sun already shining, ‘where am I?’ she wondered.

Princess Jovita noticed a few more wolves and naked women that are tied up to poles. ‘This is bad, really bad,’ she thought, filled with fear. She got dragged into a dark building and when the door shut behind her, she could smell a vampire.

‘I should try, and mind link my so-called fated mate,’ she decided but before she could her snout got grabbed and her eyes made contact with the shining blue eyes of a lady with blond hair, her night vision not failing her.

“You are not to mind link anyone ever again. You are to obey like a good little dog. You are not to speak ever again. You will not try to run away or save yourself,” Shysie compelled her.

Shysie retreated away from the door before it opened.

“Come,” a voice demanded Princess Jovita, and she obeyed.

Jovita followed the demanding man outside of the building and to another house.

“Get this one cleaned up, the King is eager for some fresh skin,” the man said to the butler that opened the door.

“New arrival!” he yelled out and a few maids rushed, taking Princess Jovita by her leash.

One of the maids took her collar off, “now go stand there.” The maid pointed to a tiled area that looked like a bathroom without a tub but there was a drain.

Unexpectedly water got dumped over Princess Jovita, giving her a fright. After a few more buckets of freezing cold water, she was attacked with soap bars and a rough scrub down before being rinsed off with a few more buckets of cold water. Princess Jovita could no longer fight the urge and shook the water off her, ‘ugh, I hate acting like a dog.’

After her shake off, she got dried with a towel and still slightly wet got taken up the stairs. They came to a halt in front of the door and the maid knocks softly, “your majesty, a fresh one arrived this morning.”

Jovita was snapped out of her bad memories when Juno grabbed her and embraced her. "I swear, I am going to kill him."
