Chapter 77

Deacon felt his chest for his shaman necklace and then remembered that it was the second time Wynn compelled him. “You don’t perhaps have a shaman necklace?”
Jessica placed her hand on her chest and found that she was not wearing her necklace. “He is fast,” she sighed and fell down on her bed.
“Geuss, we are talking,” Deacon said and sat on Ann’s bed, across from her.
“You tried to kill me, so I have nothing to say to you,” Jessica spat and stubbornly turned her back on him.
“You had sex with Lestat,” Deacon pointed out.
“What about you? How many times did you have sex with Emily?” Jessica hissed. “Besides, you can not hold it against me for being attracted to Lestat. It turns out he is also my fated mate.”
“I saw that,” Deacon said.
“You mean, you heard that,” Jessica corrected him, not recalling Deacon being in the class when it happened.
“No, I drank from Wynn and saw everything that transpired in my absence,” Deacon told her.
“I don’t know how it happened, but I am glad to be released from you and before you think you can steal me away from Lestat, don’t. I don’t want to be queen. I plan on claiming him,” Jessica told him off.
“I wasn’t going to do that,” Deacon snorted.
“I am calling Ami,” Jessica said and took out her phone.
Deacon put his hand over the phone. “I am sorry for everything I have done to you.”
Jessica was shocked by his apology and looked at him. “You should be.”
“I am trying here,” Deacon sighed.
“Apology accepted,” Jessica said, rolling her eyes.
Deacon walked over to the door and tried to leave. “See you around, princess,” he said, smiling back at her before leaving.
Jessica sat on her bed and felt kind of lost. ‘Why do I feel sad? I am happy, right?’
Before Jessica could get too deep into her thoughts, Ann and Ami walked into the room.
“You just missed Wynn,” Jessica said.
“Wynn is back?” Ami exclaimed and rushed off, wondering why he didn’t mind link her.
“What's up?” Ann questioned.
“Nothing. Why do you ask?” Jessica said with a smile.
“You seemed off for a moment,” Ann said and sat on her bed. “What's this?” Ann questioned, picking up a shaman necklace from her bed.
“Just a necklace,” Jessica said and took it from her with a smile.
“Strange looking necklace. Not your usual style,” Ann pointed out.
“I am trying new things,” Jessica chuckled.
“Right,” Ann laughed and got up to take a shower.
‘I have to speak to Mr. Ondrink. It is time he removes this stupid spell from Ann,’ Jessica thought, playing with Deacon’s shaman necklace.
Jessica concentrated for a moment and attempted to mind link Mr. Ondrinnk. ‘Can you hear me?’
‘Jessica? Everything ok?’ Mr. Ondrink responded to her.
‘Ann is never going to fall in love with Michael. She told me she thinks she loves him but the spell is not unraveling,’ Jessica mind linked him.
‘Ann’s spell will unravel when she drinks the blood of a vampire,’ Mr. Ondrink told Jessica the truth.
‘What? All this time? You told everyone she has to fall in love with Michael,’ Jessica accused.
‘Mr. Ondink?’ Jessica questioned, not getting a response. “How dare he?!”
“Ann, I will be right back,” Jessica yelled at the bathroom door before leaving. At first, she thought she will go tell Michael but then she changed her mind. ‘That asshole does not deserve her. He probably won't want her to know the truth. I bet she will run straight back to Paris,’ Jessica thought and wondered who will be best to ask for help in the matter. ‘Wynn?’
‘Wynn, I need your help,’ Jessica mind linked him.
‘Kind of busy,’ Wynn mind linked her back.
‘Ann will have her memory back if she drinks from a vampire,’ Jessica mind linked him.
‘I said, I am busy,’ Wynn mind linked back and shut Jessica out as he was busy making love to Ami.
‘What is it with the men today?’ Jessica thought.
“Hi,” Katelina greeted, walking into the room.
“Great, just the person I was looking for,” Jessica said.
“I am so sorry for what happened to Ann. But really, it is Michael’s fault. Instead of letting me be with Paris, he put all of us in danger by involving Merch,’ Katelina started.
“I am not blaming you. Besides, Ann is fine, not a scratch on her,” Jessica said with a smile.
“Oh. That is good. Michael must have let her drink his blood. She was pretty bruised. That Merch was a monster,” Katelina said.
“Really?” Jessica questioned with a frown on her face. ‘That sneaky bastard. Ann must have gotten her memory back and he must have not liked her behavior and ended up compelling her to forget,’ Jessica thought.
“What?” Katelina questioned.
“Nothing,” Jessica said, and walked towards the bathroom.
“Why were you looking for me?” Katelina asked.
“I wanted to know where Paris was at?” Jessica questioned.
“I don’t think he is coming back,” Katelina said, looking sad.
“Don’t worry about it. You will find love again,” Jessica said.
“I geus,” Katelina sighed.
“Just don’t hold it against Ann,” Jessica warned her off and went into the bathroom.
“Don’t you knock?” Ann chuckled, drying herself off.
“Stand still for a second will you?” Jessica said and took the shaman necklace off. She put it around Ann’s neck.
“No way I am wearing this ugly thing,” Ann protested.
Jessica started the shaman hymn making Ann chuckle. “Have you gone mad?”
“That asshole!” Ann exclaimed when her memories flooded back.
“I thought that much,” Jessica said.
Ann went blank for a moment, tears building up in her eyes.
“Are you ok?” Jessica asked, confused at Ann’s tears.
“Um, yeah, yeah. I am fine,” Ann said, holding back the tears and trying to put Merch and what he did to her out of her mind.
“I can't believe how gullible I was. I believed that Michael, Paris, and a few others belonged to a secret society,” Ann said, changing the subject. “I have to find Paris!”
