Chapter 119
“If he loved me, he would have been married to me now instead of dumping me on an island,” Ann said.
“Michael must have something to do with it,” her mother insisted.
‘Why was Michael on the island?’ Ann wondered. ‘How did Wynn know I was on the island? He also knew I didn’t have memory of the supernatural world,’ Ann realized.
“I have to go,” Ann said, making her way to the front door.
“I will come with,” her father said.
“I don’t need you to babysit me,” Ann declined.
“Actually, you do,” her father said and followed her out of the house. “Come, I will drive you.”
“Urg,” Ann exclaimed, rolling her eyes but got into her father’s car.
Arriving at the higher council, Ann went straight to the lycan throne room to say hello to Jessica, her best friend first, wondering if Jessica knew and agreed to her being compelled. ‘She must have,’ Ann told herself.
“Good afternoon,” Deacon greeted Ann and her father. Deacon looked at Eljo, wondering what Ann was doing back in New York.
“Where is Jessica?” Ann questioned.
“Everyone out,” Deacon demanded for all the bystanders to leave the throne room so that he could speak privately with Ann and her father.
“What is going on?” Ann asked, looking worriedly at everyone leaving. “Please tell me Jessica is ok.”
“Jessica is perfectly fine,” Deacon assured Ann and waited for the throne room to clear.
The moment the throne room was cleared, Deacon explained himself to Ann.
“After Torvald abducted Jessica and her mother realized that it was best for them to go in hiding for a few years,” Deacon explained. “And you are supposed to be missing, presumed dead,” Deacon added, looking at Eljo.
“She just showed up today. Wynn said he had no choice but to lift the compelling Paris placed over her,” Eljo explained.
“Where is Wynn?” Deacon asked.
“I don’t know. He said he was coming to the higher council. He didn’t give me more info whatsoever,” Eljo explained.
‘Wynn?’ Deacon tried to mind link him but got no response.
“I suggest you go home and stay there. I will give you a call when I get hold of Wynn,” Deacon said and walked them out of the throne room.
“Wait a minute,” Ann protested. “Tell me where Jessica is. I want to see her.”
“That is impossible, as I don’t know where she is,” Deacon explained.
“Mind link her,” Ann demanded.
“She has a spell over her mind to keep their location safe,” Deacon explained.
“Why not just kill Torvald and get it over and done with?” Ann spat, not liking the fact that she can not see her best friend.
“And have the prehistoric vampires declare war?” Deacon tried to make her see reason.
“Ann, just because your father is a hunter does give you any say in our world,” Deacon spat, tired of her rudeness.
“The vampire king’s obsession with me says I do,” Ann spat and walked out of the lycan throne room.
“Where are you going?” Deacon called after her.
“To speak to Michael,” Ann said and continued to the vampire wing.
“Ann! I am still your father and I forbid you to speak to him again,” Ejlo shouted after her making her stop in her tracks.
Ann turned around and faced her father. “I am not a child anymore,” she said and continued on her way.
“Shaman magic should keep her in her place,” Deacon suggested.
“No need for that,” Eljo declined the offer. He wanted to go after Ann but at the same time, he knew he can’t step foot in the vampire wing.
“Don’t look so worried. We have had not any incidents since Paris,” Deacon put Eljo’s mind at ease, believing that no vampires know about their secret.

“You order me to stay away from you, yet you come after me?” Michael questioned, sounding out of breath.
“I want you to kill your brother,” Ann said but not making it an official order yet.
“Please don’t make me do that,” Michael pleaded.
“He is a monster. Look what he did to Jovita and Jessica and all those women a hundred years ago,” Ann stated.
“He is still my brother, and I am sure he is receiving fair punishment for his sins,” Michael tried to reason with her.
“If you kill him, I will be yours,” Ann said and turned to walk out of the throne room.
“What makes you think I still want you?” Michael challenged.
“Well, in that case,” Ann said, facing him again. “Kill your brother Torvald.”
“Who is the monster now?” Michael hissed.
Ann left him and, on her way, out of the castle, she ran into Deacon and her father again.
“Now that, that is taken care of let’s go home,” Ann said to her father. “And Deacon, let me know when I get to see Jessica. Should be soon enough.”
“What have you done?” Eljo asked worriedly.
“I ordered Michael to kill his brother,” Ann laughed.
“But he does not know where he is,” Deacon said.
“I am aware of that,” Ann chuckled.
“He will come for me to find out where his brother is,” Deacon shouted.
“I know,” Ann said and looked him dead in the face. “It is up to you. Either fight him off and risk dying or tell him where to find his brother. They will be too busy now playing cat and mouse to ever bug me or the people I love. So, you can send for Jessica to come back.”
Deacon didn’t waste any more time on Ann and decided he needed to find Wynn real fast so that Wynn can take him away to go hide away from where Michael could find him and the answers to where Torvald was. Deacon’s biggest problem was that he didn’t know. Only Ondrink knew and if Michael had to go on the hunt to find Ondrink he will also find Jessica and her parents.
‘Maybe one of my brothers saw Wynn,’ Deacon thought and rushed over to their royal quarters to go look for him.
“I have a problem,” Deacon said, storming into prince Mano’s room and flipping on the light switch.
“Don’t you bloody knock anymore!” Mano shouted. Emily pulled the bedsheets over her body where she was sitting on top of Mano.
“What the hell?” Deacon asked, shocked seeing his former mate turned vampire, Emily, with his youngest brother.
“It just happened,” Emily blushed and got out of Mano, wrapping the bedsheets around her body.
“It won’t happen again,” Deacon spat.
“Who are you to tell us what we are allowed to do?” Mano hissed, pulling on his pants.
“I am your fucking king and she, my former mate,” Deacon spat, completely forgetting what he was doing there in the first place.
“Exactly. Former. You are married. You have a claimed mate,” Emily remined him.
“Do you have to be with my brothers?” Deacon questioned, clearly not happy to see her with another man.
“Brother,” Emily corrected him.
“How long has this been going on?” Deacon demanded to know.
“A few months,” Mano admitted. “Please leave.”
Deacon grabbed Emily by her arm and attempted to drag her out of the room. “I forbid you to be with any of my brothers.”
“The hell you are,” Mano shouted and grabbed Deacon by his free arm, followed by punching him in the face.
“Deacon,” Emily shouted when he dropped to the ground. “Why did you do that?” Emily shouted at Mano.
“I am tired of him always bossing me around. He does not own us,” Mano said and walked over to the bathroom and returned with a glass of water, pouring it out over Deacon’s face.
Deacon woke up and the moment he remembered that Mano punched him he jumped up and attacked him back.
“Stop it!” Emily shouted but the two of them ignored them as they fought each other.
“I am not doing this,” Emily said and left the room. Emily went to her own room which she has not been in for a few months as she has been sharing Mano’s room with him all this time.
