Chapter 183

‘Thank goodness I made the rest of that promise in my head or else I would have burnt for the rest of my life,’ Prince Andre thought to himself.
“Why is it that you are not squealing in pain?” Lady Hannah asked.
“I promised that I will never compel you and then the rest of the promise was silent,” Prince Andre admits.
“Rest of the promise?” Lady Hannah asked, furious.
“I promise that I will never compel you in front of anyone,” Prince Andre hanged his head.
“Good thing I never trusted you,” Lady Hannah spat putting her necklace under her dress again.
Prince Andre grabbed her by her arm, “Don’t do this. Be my wife.”
“Let go of me,” Lady Hannah saif, looking at his hand that was tightly wrapped around her upper arm, hurting her.
“You heard my wife, let go of her,” Lord Dario’s voice reached their ears.
“Husband!” Lady Hannah said and prince Andre let go of her arm before speeding off.
Lord Dario sped over to her closing the gap between them, “Wife.”
“I thought you are dead,” Lady Hannah said before kissing her husband deeply.
“I was being held as a prisoner of war,” Lord Dario explained taking a moment from kissing before kissing her again.
“I love you so much!” Lady Hannah said through tears.
“And I you, wife” Lord Dario said before kissing her again.
“Did I hear right? You almost married prince Andre and he is a hybrid now?” Lord Dario asked.
“Yes,” Lady Hannah admitted, feeling ashamed.
“Yes; you almost married him or yes; he is a hybrid?” Lord Dario confirmed.
“Yes, to both,” Lady Hannah said, looking down.
“Please tell me you didn’t have a child with him,” Lord Dario said, realizing that lady Hannag was about to walk into the castle nursery.
“No, but you did,” Lady Hannah said, opening the door to the castle nursery.
“I meant to tell you about volunteering,” Lord Dario explained.
“I wish you didn’t,” Lady Hsnnah said, walking over to Dario Jnr’s crib.
“It is not really my child you know, but the next one could be ours. Clearly the science is working, and we can have our own child,” Lord Dario explained.
“Sure, he is not your child,” Lady Hannah smiled at her husband’s shocked face when he sees his split image.
“I don’t know what to say,” Lord Dario said.
“Do you really want children? I thought we talked about it?” Lady Hannsh said, looking at her husband.
“I wanted you to have the option. I have had children, all long gone. When I met you, I stopped keeping taps on my descendants,” Lord Dario said.
“He is not a hunter, so you can touch him,” Lady Hannah said, when she realized that lord Dario was hesitant.
“So not all vampire DNA are a candidate then?” Lord Dario reached out and stroked the baby’s cheek.
“Apparently not,” Lady Hannah said.
Back in their room they talked about their lives apart over the past year and made sweet love until morning.
The next morning lady Hannah could hear the whispering gossips in the sunroom where breakfast was being served. She noticed that queen Amirah and prince Andre was not present, so she took a seat with prince Deacon’s former fated mates.
It was at this table that lady Hannah decided that it was time for her husband and herself to leave so after breakfast she spoke to lord Dario about it.
“Since princess Claire is dead your last duty canceled itself out so you should keep king Thorvald to his word. Let us leave here and take Dario Jnr with us,” Lady Hannah shared her hopes and dreams with her husband.
“Great minds think alike. I already spoke to king Thorvald, and he agreed,” Lord Dario informed her.
“But?” Lady Hannah asked, knowing it cannot be that easy.
“He wants us to take a few vampires with us,” Lord Dario said.
“Like a nest?” Lady Hannah confirmed.
“Yes,” Lord Dario confirmed.
“Not exactly what I had in mind,” Lady Hannah said as she was hoping to break ties with the council.
“We can always run away,” Lord Dario suggested.
“And look over our shoulders all the time?” Lady Hannah asked.
“I will go talk to him again tonight,” Lord Dario said, trying to put his wife at ease.
“I will go talk to him,” Lady Hannah said leaving their room.
Lady Hannah knew not to disturb the vampires during the day but right that moment she was so angry that she could not wait.
As the hallway got darker and darker towards the vampire wing, lady Hannah noticed the flickering eyes of animals in the distant dark, but she was not scared as she knew it was the eyes of hybrids standing guard at the entrance of the vampire wing.
“Lady Hannah,” one of the guards acknowledged her.
“I wish to speak to King Thorvalf,” she demanded.
“Then you should return after dark,” the guard said.
“It is rather urgent. Please tell him that lady Hannag is here to see him,” she demanded again.
“Get comfortable lady Hannah as the day is still long and I will let him know you are here to see him as soon as the sun has gone down,” the guard said again.
“King Thorvald!” Lady Hannah yelled out.
“What do you think you are doing?” the guard asked her.
“King Thorvald!” she yelled over and over.
The doors open a little bit and lady Hannan heard a voice, “King Thorvald says to let her in.”
The guards stepped aside and let lady Hannah walk in. The vampire wing was not completely dark as there was a few night lamps on the wall, dimmed down.
“Why do you dare disturb me during the day?” King Thorvald asked, the irritation clear in his voice.
“My husband and I are leaving the council, alone,” Lady Hannah said.
“I think you mean; May my husband and I leave the council alone?” King Thorvald corrected her.
“No, I am telling you,” Lady Hannah said, standing her ground.
“You may leave alone but your husband will take a nest of vampires with him if he wishes to leave,” King Thorvald said, tapping his long-nailed finger on the arm of his throne.
“We leave alone and return in a few decades and then talk about a nest or we run away, and the council never sees us again,” Lady Hannah gave her terms.
“What is to stop me from just locking your husband up now?” King Thorvald asked.
“He has served you for the past 900 years, surely he deserves a break,” Lady Hannah softened her pleading tone.
“Be back in 50 years,” King Thorvald said before waving her away.
“80 Years,” Lady Hannag pushef her luck.
“80 Years but one visits a year,” King Thorvald said.
“Thank you,” Lady Hannah said, turning to walk away but then stopped and turned around again.
“What is it now?” King Thorvald asked, rolling his eyes.
“Dario Jnr comes with us,” Lady Hannah said.
“Again, you demand. Can’t, you just try asking first?” King Thorvald asked.
“Please may I take Darii Jnr with us,” Lady Hannah asked again.
“You may,” King Thorvald said, waving her away again.
Before she walked out of the doors that just opened king Thorvald spoke again, “Dario Jnr is to visit the council with you every year.”
