Chapter 80
“Mom?” Ami questioned when she opened the bedroom door and found her mother there.
“Where is Wynn?” Queen Amirah questioned, walking into the room.
“In the shower,” Ami frowned. “Why?”
“You two have to claim each other today,” Queen Amirah urged.
“What? Why? What is going on?” Ami questioned. “Please tell me this is not because of Eero?”
“It is. I just,..” Queen Amirah word but got interrupted.
“Why does everyone think I will just cast Wynn aside the moment Eero steps back into my life?” Ami spat. “Let’s go talk some place else,” Ami said and made her way for the door.
“Fine,” Queen Amirah said and followed her.
After walking a few steps, they entered the lycan throne room, finding it empty.
“Wynn is my fated mate, and I plan to claim him according to our traditions,” Ami said, the first to speak again.
“Why wait? Traditions are so old-fashioned,” Queen Amirah said.
“Oh really? Since when?” Ami chuckled in disbelief. “Mom, I am sticking with Wynn. Besides, I am pregnant,” Ami said, smiling. “We are having a baby. Well, if I didn’t kill it when I tried to shift last night.”
“You are pregnant?” Queen Amirah asked in shock. ‘Eero kissed her last night. Unless he lied,’ she thought. ‘If it was Wynn’s baby Eero would have reacted. He would have felt the offspring of a hybrid in her.’
“Just claim each other,” Queen Amirah urged, and rushed to the door. “Today still.”
“How? I can’t shift. I will lose the baby,” Ami objected.
“Part shift won't kill the baby,” Queen Amirah lied. Part shifting or attempting once while pregnant won't kill a baby but more than once was pushing your luck and that of your unborn child.
“Where are you going?” Ami shouted after her mother, but Queen Amirah did not respond, rushing off to find a way to lock Eero up until Wynn and Ami have claimed each other.
Queen Amirah found Eero on his way to Wynn’s room. “They are not there. They must have already left for varsity.”
“I will go check for myself,” Eero insisted and attempted to walk past her, but Queen Amirah would have none of it and ripped of her shirt before part shifting into a were-owl; wings and claws. Because she was only part shift, she was large enough to pick Eero up and fly off with him.
Queen Amirah flew towards the large open windows with a fighting Eero, putting up a fight.
“Let me go!” Eero yelled.
“Are you sure?” Queen Amirah asked as she just flew out of the window.
Eero looked down and then grabbed onto Queen Amirah’s claws, realizing he won't survive the fall.

Ami got back to Wynn’s room as he got out of the shower.
“I thought you were going to join me?” Wynn said with just a towel around him.
“Let’s claim each other today,” Ami said, wrapping her arms around him.
“What about your were-owl traditions?” Wynn smiled at her.
“What about them? They are old-fashioned,” Ami smiled at him.
“Your mother will never forgive us,” Wynn chuckled.
“She suggested,” Ami chuckled.
“She did?” Wynn questioned with a frown on his face.
“Yes. Just like you, she does not trust me with Eero being back in my life,” Ami said.
“I trust you,” Wynn rubbed the side of her face with his hands. “Besides, how are you going to claim me without harming our baby?”
“Mom said, part shifting won't harm the baby,” Ami smiled.
“Really?” Wynn frowned. “Geuss, it is different for were-owls then. If a lycan had to try to shift, it will most definitely kill the unborn child. Once won't be a problem, but shifting so far as to change your face to claim a mate will be too much.”
“Well, I am not a lycan and I trust my mom,” Ami said. “She won't give advice that will put her grandchild at risk.” ‘Unless,’ Ami thought, but then stopped herself from thinking.
“I tell you what,” Wynn smiled. “If you can plan a wedding in one week, then we can get married in seven days from now.”
“I can do that,” Ami smiled and kissed him.

“Where are you taking me?” Eero yelled.
Queen Amirah felt depleted of her energy because a were-animal can only stay part shifter for a limited time and then has to either shift all the way or back into their human form.
Queen Amirah scanned the castle underneath her before shifting into her full owl form, making Eero let go of her.
Queen Amirah flew off and into her bedroom window before shifting back into her human form.
‘Now that he is taken care of, I have to make sure Ami and Wynn claimed each other,’ she thought as she got dressed. ‘She will one day forgive me for losing the hunter’s kid. Maybe she will even thank me.’
“Mom,” Queen Amirah heard her daughter’s voice, followed by a knock on her bedroom door.
Queen Amirah composed herself and walked over to the door and unlocked it. “Ami. Everything ok?”
“We have a wedding to plan,” Ami said with a big smile.
“I told you, just claim each other. You can get married later,” Queen Amirah insisted.
“Wynn won't claim me unless we are married,” Ami chuckled. “However, he is willing to get married right away.”
‘I can work with that,’ Queen Amirah thought and felt her pockets for her phone. ‘Right, must be in the lycan wing,’ she thought.
“Leave it to me. You focus on making your fated mate happy,” Queen Amirah said.
“It better be good. Neither one of us has ever gotton married,” Ami chuckled.
“That you know of,” Queen Amirah reminded Ami that Wynn had a life not even he has memory of.
“You know what I mean,” Ami said, feeling giddy. Ami left her mother to it.
‘Meet you out front,’ Ami mind linked Wynn.
‘Already in the car babe,’ Wynn mind linked her back.
They got to varsity, and Wynn was parking away from the front entrance.
“You should park at the front,” Ami suggested.
“Are you sure?” Wynn questioned, a satisfying smile on his face.
“Yes,” Ami smiled back at him.
Wynn referred his car and sped over to the front, drawing all eyes on them, making Ami laugh.
Wynn stopped the car and got out, quickly making his way over to Ami’s side to open the door.
Wynn held out his hand to her, and she plated her fingers in between hers before they walked into the building.
Jessica rolled her eyes at the happy couple once their backs were turned to her.
Eero woke up after Queen Amirah dropped him, flying over the castle. Eero immediately knew where he was. Queen Amirah dropped him in the tower that was not visible to the naked eye from outside.
Eero stood up and could hardly believe that he didn’t break any bones.
Eero walked over to the door and banged on it. “Hey! Anyone out there?!” he shouted, even though he knew that no one will hear him. ‘Does she plan to leave me here to die?’ he thought and walked back to where he fell in. Eero looked up, feeling hopeless. After day three, Eero accepted that Queen Amirah was leaving him for dead. It took him another three days to decide that he had to fight for his life and that no one was coming for him.
Eero started with the sheets that were on the bed and torn them in to strands before knotting them together, forming a rope. He took both of his shoes and tied it to the edge. Eero knew that unless he had a hook to put to the end of the rope that could hook to the top of the tower, he won't be able to climb out but he hoped that a flying were-animal will spot his shoes on the rooftop. For the next twenty-four hours, he threw his shoes up and over the edge of the tower and slowly reeling it back in, waiting for someone to spot it and come to his aid. Eventually, out of energy, he collapsed and drifted off, having depleted all his energy and severely dehydrated.

Stella was sitting in front of her vanity, talking to herself like she has been doing for almost a week now. “The hell with this. If I can’t have him, no one can,” Stella said to herself and stood up. Instead of cleaning herself up, she went straight to the higher council.
