Chapter 25
“I am not going to leave Hannah,” Paris said, before speeding off.
“We don’t have much night left, what is it going to be?” Shysie asked, looking at Wynn.
“If Hannah is with Andre, then we don’t have to worry about her, right? He is still obsessed with her right?” Wynn asked.
“Well, Paris said he is the one that framed Dario to get him out of the way, so yeah, he is obviously still obsessed with her,” Shysie assured Wynn.
“What about Paris? What if Andre managed to kill him this time?” Wynn asked concerned.
“I will go after Paris; you go to Alaska. We will meet you there,” Shysie said before speeding off.
Wynn looked at the sky and speed back into the apartment building, to Dario’s apartment, knowing he does not have enough night left.
Shysie and Paris find Clarissa roaming outside the castle.
“Fancy seeing you here,” Shysie said.
“Where is Andre? Is he not normally the one opening?” Clarissa asked, frustrated.
“I don’t think anyone is getting in, there has been an attack,” Shysie said, looking around, wondering if she can risk using King Torvald’s secret entrance.
“Does your parents know where you are?” Paris asked Clarissa sarcastic, never being a big fan of her.
“I would ask you the same but I guess yours are long dead,” Clarissa asked mockingly back.
Clarissa walked away from them to search for another way in.
“Come, this way,” Shysie said, making her way over to King Torvalds secret passage.
“How do you know about this?” Paris wanted to know.
“As I said earlier, he made me help him rescue Jessica’s parents,” Shysie reminded him.
Shysie looked around making sure no one was around before taking Paris by the hand and moving quickly into the castle.
They end up in King Torvald’s room.
“How do we get out of his room? You know it is one spell door after the other,” Paris said, looking around.
Without trouble, Shysie found her way out of the room making Paris wonder how come she knew so much.
Together they speed through the castle, past piles of ashes of Vampires that bleed themself to death and other Supernatural species lining the hallway of the castle, all dead.
“Is there anyone still alive?” Paris asked when they stopped in front of the chapel.
“King Torvald?” Shysie asked looking at King Torvald that was standing by the chapel door, staring in.
“I don’t think I have ever seen him in shock,” Paris said, looking past him into the chapel.
Shysie walked into the chapel, “what could have happened here? Even the Hunters are dead.” Shysie noticed the bodies of the hunters to her left.
“I hope Andre is somewhere dead in this chapel,” Paris said, resentful, walking towards the royal section.
After inspecting the dead royal bodies, Paris walked out of the chapel, disappointed.
“King Torvald, where is Hannah?” Paris asked.
“Andre took her, away from here, for her own safety,” King Torvald said, snapping out of his shock.
“What happened here?” Shysie asked.
“Your guess is as good as mine,” King Torvald said.
“Do you think everyone is dead?” Paris asked.
“No, I saw some species fled but the Royal Lycan brothers are back, with Jessica,” King Torvald said, walking towards his room.
“I didn’t notice any hunter kids in the chapel,” Shysie said, wondering about them.
“They are safe, hiding under a spell in the Vampire wing,” King Torvald said. No one knew this but all the hunters are descendants of his DNA as his DNA was used to create the first hunters in 1900 with the first successful birth of a hunter in 1917.
“I will speed through the castle to see who is left. Should we all gather?” Shysie asked.
“Yes, do that. Leave the hunter kids where they are. They don’t need to know tonight what happened. Paris, I need you to find Wynn and instruct him to gather a group of hybrids. They need to find the Hunting parties around the world and let them come back to the council for a meeting,” King Torvald instructed.
“Wynn is no longer a hybrid; the royal brothers burnt his wolf. I didn’t even know such a thing is possible,” Paris informed him.
‘I completely forgot about that,’ King Torvald thought to himself.
Paris sped off to gather everyone for the meeting.
“How do we get him to give up Hannah and not take revenge for Dario’s death?” Shysie asked King Torvald.
“It is not like he will ever find them. Go gather everyone for the meeting,” King Torvald said before speeding off to the Vampire wing. King Torvald sped past Queen Amirah and then backtracked back to her, bending down next to her, feeling her pulse, ‘too weak to save.’ King Torvald speed to the Vampire wing to check on the Hunter. ‘I hope there are still vampires alive,’ he thought to himself, speeding past the ash piles of vampires. King Torvald came to a halt when he noticed a Vampire near death and as the Vampire tried to use his last strength to grab hold of King Torvald, he realized that either a prehistoric compelled them to kill each other or a Shaman spelled them to do it but why will a Shaman spell were-animals like the wolves?
King Torvald held the half-bled to death vampire in an arm hold and whispered his compelling; ‘stop killing.’ It does not take long for the vampire to hiss in pain as his skin started to boil and his mind goes crazy, fighting the two compelling on him that are opposite to each other and therefore he cannot obey the one without not obeying the other and one compelling cannot out rule the other.
King Torvald walked with the Vampire, clawing his own face off, towards Queen Amirah.
“Drink until your heart turns to ash,” he compelled the near-death Queen.
Queen Amirah does not respond. King Torvald bite the Vampire’s hand off and shoves his wrist into her mouth as deep as he can so that the blood can flow into her throat.
After a few minutes, Queen Amirah tried to get the Vampire out of her mouth as she does not want to become a Vampire and she would rather die before her heart turned to ash.
“Drink until your heart turns to ash,” King Torvald compelled her again.
Queen Amirah was wearing a shaman necklace and hymn the ritual hymn to release her from the compelling. With enough vampire blood in her to give her the strength she needed, she shoved the Vampire away from her, just in time. The Vampire lost his last blood mid-air before he turned to ash in King Torvald's arms, leaving him with a blanket of ash over his face and body.
Queen Amirah shifted into her owl form but does not have enough strength to fly off, so she dragged her bloody-self in owl form into her room.
“Stupid bird,” King Torvald said, pulling her bedroom door close in case there are more crazy compelled supernaturals around.
King Torvald walked to the Vampire wing of the Castle that has been spelled as a safe place for Hunters in case something like this happened.
He came to a halt near the door where they were hiding and kept his distance. “Hunter kids if you are here will one of you please come out and tell me what happened?”
Eero came out and approached King Torvald, “am I happy to see you!”
“Stop! That is far enough,” King Torvald said, knowing he cannot compel a hunter.
“A Vampire compelled everyone to kill each other until no one is left,” Eero explained.
“It must be a prehistoric vampire,” King Torvald said.
“But he looked proper, educated,” Eero disagreed.
“Only a natural-born vampire can compel other vampires,” King Torvald said.
“But I thought they cannot be educated,” Eero said, wondering why they are killing prehistoric if they can be educated.
King Torvald realized that he shouldn’t have suggested that was a prehistoric vampire. “They have to be killed for exactly what happened here tonight. They have too much power.”
“What will happen now? Are our parents, ok?” Stella asked, coming out of the room and wrapping her arm around Eero.
“We will send for the Hunters that are out in the field but for now everyone that has survived is coming together for a meeting,” King Torvald said ignoring the question.
“Is that really a good idea? What if the Prehistoric is still around and compels everyone again?” Stella objected, thinking it was crazy.
“That won’t happen again as I am around this time,” King Torvald assured them.
“He compelled all the royals so sorry to offend you, but I don’t think you stand a chance,” Eero said bluntly.
“You guys stay here and don’t come out until I return. If I don’t return, then send one of the younger Hunters out to inspect the situation, as you two are the eldest right now and these kids will need you,” King Torvald said before speeding off.
Soon enough, all the Supernaturals that were not in the chapel at the time of Michael compelling them, gathered in a medium-sized hall that used to be the wedding ceremony hall about a hundred years ago.
“Are everyone here?” King Torvald asked Shysie and Paris, standing near the entrance ready to make a run for it if need be.
“Yes, besides Princess Jessica, that is tied up in Prince Deacon’s room and another girl in the lab,” Shysie said.
“What girl?” King Torvald asked.
A scientist-looking man walked over to King Torvald and whispers to him, “remember the girl I told you about that is presumed pregnant with a Prehistoric’s offspring?”
“You have her here?” King Torvald asked out loud.
“Yes, she got brought in earlier today. No one noticed,” the scientist whispered.
“Do you think she is the reason for the attack?” King Torvald asked in a hushed voice.
“I don’t think so. If she is, the attacker forgot to take her,” he joked.
“Take a shaman with you to put a spell around your lab,” King Torvald instructed.
“Already done,” the scientist said with a smile.
Eero came walking into the meeting, “there is something you should know King Torvald.”
All the Vampires, hybrids, and King Torvald gave a few steps away, putting enough distance between them and the hunter.
“I told you to stay where you are,” King Torvald said, hiding his anger.
“The Vampire is the same one that the human girl Ann has been in contact with,” Eero said, putting his hands open in front of him half down, showing them to take it easy.
“Thank you for the information, Eero. Please stay with the hunter kids as I asked you to do,” King Torvald ordered him.
Eero sighed, as he really wanted to be part of the solution. ‘When will they see me as an adult and not a kid anymore?’ he thought, walking away. In the vampire wing of the castle on his way back to the secret hiding place of the hunter kids, Eero saw movement. “I think it is safe to come out now. Everyone that has been compelled is now dead,” he said.
“That is good to know,” a young woman whom he was not familiar with said, grabbing the older man that was with her by the arm and walking out of the room, away from Eero, before he said another word.
Eero looked after them, ‘they must be in shock,’ he thought before walking on.
“Please reach out to the hunters out in the field. I have something to take care of,” King Torvald said to one of the supernaturals that looked like he had some brains, before leaving with the scientist.
“King Torvald, is it true that all the hunters and all the royals besides the Lycans are dead?” the scientist asked on his way to his lab.
“Don’t worry, we will replace them soon enough and as for the hunters, we have a few adults out in the field and all the children are safe and sound. We will just implant embryos for every hunter we lost as soon as we have selected new royal heads,” King Torvald said.
“I would like to induce labor and have the baby born now,” the scientist said.
